SinToxic Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 Kung Phooey! - 5.5/10. Not too bad. Below average production. Had few moments, should have achieved much more though.
Guest Ray Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 Revenge. Treachery. Death. RAN (1985) A sweeping epic if there ever was one. A grand tale of an aging warlord who devides his land among his three sons with disastrous results. Lavish costumes and set design. A true classic, and the best film I have seen from 1985. "My Lord, prepare for death! I, Kurogane, will follow you!" Out of the Past (1947) Do they come any cooler than Robert Mitchum? A classic noir tale of love, murder, greed, and blackmail with luscious black & white cinematography, compelling plot twists, and exellent dialogue - especially Mitchum's slick one-liners. I absolutely loved this. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (2003) A wonderful, deeply moving film about a boy who lives with an old monk on a lake. A boy who becomes a young man who discovers love. A young man who becomes a grown man and experiences anger and pain and death. A grown man who becomes an old man who tries to atone for his past. Circle of life, and all that. The scenery and the change of seasons at the lake are absolutely gorgeous. It's calm and quiet...and beautiful...peaceful.
BlackFlagg Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Kung-Fu Hustle - 8/10 Donnie Darko - 9/10
Gary Floyd Posted September 3, 2005 Report Posted September 3, 2005 Wrong Turn-8/10 Loses a star because of the rushed ending. Other than that, it's a nice 70's style horror romp with deformed inbred cannibal brothers, some nice death scenes, and it suprisingly takes itself seriously, though Jeremy Sisto did get a few chuckles out of me.
Gary Floyd Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 Choking Hazard-7/10 A flawed, but fun and enjoyable Zombie comedy. Also, the first horror film from the Czech Republic, though it's in no way a Horror film. Love the Porn Star who's a Jehova's Witness who becomes a Scientoligist.
eiker_ir Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 i watched Rock n Roll High School like an hour ago
BlackFlagg Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Sixteen Candles - 10/10 The Curse of Frankenstein - 7/10 Dogma - 10/10
Youth N Asia Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 The Brothers Grimm...I'm not giving it a score, BUT IT SUCKED ASS!
BlackFlagg Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 Texas Chainsaw Massacre '03 - 7/10 Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back - 9/10
Anorak Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 Wedding Crashers - 7/10 Enough laughs for a worthwhile watch. Predictably sappy second half but a nice Will Ferrel cameo to compensate. Seed Of Chucky - 4/10 Lacking the wit and camp sense of dark fun Bride Of Chucky had this is a bit of a mess. The smart one liners of Bride are replaced by a tidal wave of bodily fluids. Chucky having some bonding sessions with a son had some comic potential but it was largely wasted instead on more bickering with Tiffany. There's plenty of blood flying about but the death scenes are very mundane and unimaginative (nothing to match the waterbed scene from Bride) and despite being a good sport Jeniffer Tilley probably tries too hard to send herself up. If I wasn't a Chucky mark this would get about 2/10 so be warned.
Gary Floyd Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Bad Taste-9/10 Watched it last night.
BlackFlagg Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Kinsey - 8/10 Born into Brothels - 7/10
Gary Floyd Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Man with the Screaming Brain-8/10. Saw it last night on Sci-Fi. There were two things that bugged me (Ted Rami as a hip hop quoting scientist's assitence is hit and miss, and there's a scene were Bruce Campbell's characters wife cheats on him that's hardly brought up at all.). Other than that, if you know it's not going to be the next "Bubba Ho-Tep" or "Evil Dead II", it's pretty damn funny. That out of the way, it's in no way a horror movie. It's a comedy through and through.
BlackFlagg Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - 7/10
