BlackFlagg Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Wishmaster 3 - 5/10 You deserve death. That movie was shit Indeed it was
Si82 Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Today: Shaun of the Dead (9/10) A fantastic British comedy take on the classic zombie movie with a dash of romance and lots of blood. The cast is great, the jokes fantastic and it all rockets along at a great pace. See it!
BlackFlagg Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 9/10 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 8/10
ArkhamGlobe Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 A Mighty Wind - very enjoyable. Alphaville - still awesome after all these viewings.
DCMaximo Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Cold Mountain (3/10) Really boring. Renee Zellweger is the only thing keeping this film from a lower mark, as she carried this thing on her back. Jude Law's character was really dull, didn't say much (and when he did, it was cliched crap like "diamonds are like 1000 moments" or some similar bullshit) and Nicole Kidman was so vacant and devoid of character, I thought she may have been dead all the way through. Clearly written with the Oscars in mind and I'm glad it wasn't nominated for best film.
Youth N Asia Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Kill Bill vol 1 7 out of 10 My expectations were much higher. While I liked the movie I found myself getting bored with some of the slower parts.
BlackFlagg Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The Punisher - 8.5/10 Kill Bill Vol. 2 - 9.5/0
Youth N Asia Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Kill Bill vol 2 7 out of 10 I'm giving it the same score I gave vol 1. The story was dragging again, although much better than the first. But there was only one good fight, and coming off vol 1 that was very disapointing. Although Pie Mei is the shit!
DCMaximo Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Turner and Hooch (10/10) Awesome, awesome film. I'll never get tired of it.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Reservoir Dogs. Again.
ArkhamGlobe Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Joan the Maid - Detailed, intelligent and supremely moving. I am sure that to some it would just come off as a four hour history lesson, but I was absolutely entranced throughout. Masterpiece is the only apt term to describe it I can think of.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 The Whole Ten Yards (2004) - [7.5/10] Well, I'm big Perry and Willis marks, and I loved the first one. But, unlike the first one, this one has no real place. It seems like the plot is forced, and the story is just .. there. With that said, I still liked it. It's not a great film in any way, but I laughed throughout the whole movie. I personally thought it was hilarious. Overall, not as good as the first, but still enjoyable for a fun flick. If you're looking for something groundbreaking, thought-provoking, and so on - then don't even watch. But for mindless find, and watching Perry and Willis work - it's well worth it.
Youth N Asia Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Red Dragon 7 out of 10 I saw Manhunter years ago. Which is pretty much a late 80s Red Dragon with a lesser known cast. Good movie. It had been a while since I had seen it, so I figured I'd check out Red Dragon. Good story, they used Hannibal a little more in this one, which is always good. Very good casting all around. And I liked that they added the backstory of how Hannibal was caught for the first time.
Guest T®ITEC Posted April 17, 2004 Report Posted April 17, 2004 Solaris - 6.5/10 Uh, whatever? An interesting enough concept, but I quickly became ill with indifference. Yet I could not look away. But I do like the ideas behind it, the more I think about it.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted April 18, 2004 Report Posted April 18, 2004 2 new films today: Kill Bill Vol. 2 - (9/10) Loved the film, yet I still think the first (Which I gave 9.5/10) is better. My only beef with Vol. 2 is the final encounter between Beatrix/Bill, I guess I expected an "Epic" fight scene. The Punisher - (7/10) I've already given my thoughts in the Punisher Thread.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Saw 1 new film today: How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - (5/10) It came on Showtime so for some weird reason, I decided to watch it. I hate to admit it but... I liked it Okay the plot is pretty stupid and not very realistic, come on... nobody falls in love in 10 days. But, the performances by Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson is what made the movie enjoyable since they both have great chemistry and play well off of each other.
ArkhamGlobe Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 I decided to rewatch Point Blank, which is just all kinds of awesome. It would probably make my top ten if I felt like making one.
Guest thebigjig Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 last night: Kill Bill Volume 2 for the second time in two days - 9.5/10
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 10/10 Kill Bill Vol. 2 - 9/10
Insane Bump Machine Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 Kill Bill Vol. 1 Uncut~! - ****1/2 the japanese uncut version is not only in color all the way through but has some other vicious new shots in it (during the anime sequence, for example). Cool stuff.
spiny norman Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Once Upon A Time In America - 9/10 I know some people probably think that I criminally underrated it, but I honestly felt it went on for too long. Still very good, but by the end my mind was wavering.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Kill Bill Volume 2 (2004) - [9.5/10]
Guest swilk Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Hellraiser (7.0/10) Good story, needs more Pinhead! Saw it in 1987, and now in 2004. Still love it!
