MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Just for reference, I heard generic music behind the match lineup they gave for tomorrow nights Smackdown and no mention of a theme song.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I hope they do a cool introduction witht he logos and such. You know? They show the old clip of,"The World Wrestling Federation, for over 50 years the dominating force in sports entertainment!" Then they include the other ones leading up to the new one that ends with "WWE attitude, Entertainment." That would be awesome!
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I think the Wrestlemania theme song is a little too light. How about a classic rock song for a change? What about TNT by AC/DC? Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin? They did do Highway to Hell to promote Summerslam 98, so why not use an old song again? Hey! What about Moonlight Sanata by Ludwig von Beethoven?
Nighthawk Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 If they go for that type of song it should be Rock You Like A Hurricane. Just imagine it...
Lil' Bitch Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 I missed most of the show tonight due to work. Did they even bother to announce the WM 20 theme song yet? *is not even sure if there will be one
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Generic theme. No way they'd wait til 10 days left to announce WM THEME. They were pimping MY Way for weeks, ditto for WM X-8, and last yr got a lot of airtime.
SamoaRowe Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 It is so strange to me that the WWE couldn't even get a theme for the biggest show of all time. Even Unforgiven and No Mercy had themes...

They were pimping MY Way for weeks, ditto for WM X-8, and last yr got a lot of airtime. Meh, they'll probably do it last minute anyway like they did with No Mercy last year.

I can gurantee it. Wait...what was No Mercy theme? That Sevendust song?

Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Perhaps, they felt WMXX was too classy to be shit on by a shitty band like Dope or Sevendust or whatever else generic nu-metal flavor of the week is.
snuffbox Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Perhaps, they felt WMXX was too classy to be shit on by a shitty band like Dope or Sevendust or whatever else generic nu-metal flavor of the week is. uh...neither of those bands are 'nu-metal' flavas of the week
Guest T0rrent Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Sevendust - Enemy Limp Bizkit - My Way Rage Against the Machine - Calm like a bomb Especially the first two songs I think fit with the main events, with how HBK wants to kill Trips and Benoit won't let anyone stand in his way of claiming the title or how the Eddie/Angle fued has progressed to how Eddie isn't a good role model champ.

The Tino Standard Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Not sure if anybody else noticed, but when they made the announcement that the list of WWE Hall of Fame inductees would be revealed today, they used the WM XV theme song in the background. As in-house/stock music goes, it's not bad. And to contribute to the discussion above, I'd mark like a son of a bitch if "Times Like These" was used for WMXX. Foo Fighters are my favorite band.
Guest Quik Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 They should use something by Blink 182. Yeah, that would rawk. Maybe that new song where the generic, shitty bassist plays an upright in the video. That would fit perfectly.
Guest Choken One Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 PEOPLE! Why stick generic bands with their generic singles for such a important event? The In House Classical Music fits in with the Classic moteif WMXX has...they will return to pop 40 rock at Backlash...relax.
SamoaRowe Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 When has Sevendust or Dope ever been in the Pop Top 40? They hardly even chart on Rock radio as it is
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Love Rollercoaster - Red Hot Chili Peppers

The first two were used and see my 1st post in this thread as to why the 3rd one won't be chosen.
justsoyouknow Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 They should use The Final Countdown by Europe.
Slickster Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 The whole purpose of PPV themes is to push an up-and-coming band.
justsoyouknow Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Really? I could have sworn it was to help sell the PPV.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Mania really needs a classy song. No rap act, no shitty band of the moment or underground group.
Guest thebigjig Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Mania really needs a classy song. No rap act, no shitty band of the moment or underground group. Yeah... I was about to say the same thing. It's wrestlemania 20 damnit... they need to go with something sentimental... like Trailblazing, the theme they used at the beginning of wrestlemania X8
Guest Krazy Karter Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 If the GNR rumor was true, "Paradise City" would have been cool.
Slickster Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Really? I could have sworn it was to help sell the PPV. You forgot the sarcasm tags.
cbacon Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 So what's the name of this Drowning Pool song their using? (sounds ok, but jeez, they've been planning this for a year and they come up with the theme a WEEK before the show?)
cbacon Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 Thanks. Is it with the deceased lead singer on vocals? Or do they have someone new now?
