King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Why didn't he just screw Eddy out of the title last week when he had the chance? He'd still get the shot at WrestleMania anyway. He wants to embarrass Eddie personally, and on the grandest stage of them all. Plus he already said, he did a deal (or words to that effect) with Chavo. So why would he want to fight a guy he was doing a deal with? I think the better question is does anyone realise Eddie has given up the drugs? He changed his life around. So why is Angle still holding a grudge against someone over it?
Guest JMA Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I think the angle makes sense. For weeks, we've seen Angle being associated with Heyman. At first, it was small stuff like convincing him to make matches. Then we have Angle try to reconcile the Guerreros and bring in Chavo Senior. I'm guessing that Angle's character wanted to get rid of Eddie without violence by turning his life to Hell. Perhaps he wanted to mess up his life so bad that he (Eddie) "fell off the wagon." When that didn't work, he moved on to the violence. Kurt's heel turn is actually pretty similar to Brock's (even the fake beatdown). His character is jealous and is trying to rationalize that jealousy.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 (edited) I think the better question is does anyone realise Eddie has given up the drugs? He changed his life around. So why is Angle still holding a grudge against someone over it? As for the Angle promo, he said to the effect that at any given point Eddie could fall off the wagon and become that addict again. Sure, he might be clean now, but there is always that temptation to fall back into the abyss. Makes perfect sense. Good report JHawk. And I hate JMA for not only explaning it better, but doing a different take on it that I missed. Damn him to HADES~! Michrome 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Why is this turning into Raven-Punk? What happens after Mania, Eddy pours beer down Angle's throat? Eddy is a way better Raven than Raven, but Angle can't hold Punk's jockstrap on the mic. That straight-edge promo was a disaster.

Eddy is a way better Raven than Raven, but Angle can't hold Punk's jockstrap on the mic. That straight-edge promo was a disaster. Does that also mean that: 1. The crowd will chant "Milkman" at Angle, while Angle looks at the camera in disgust? 2. Konnan from TNA will make a Wrestlemania appearance in the crowd guzzling tequila while Angle says "That tequila you drink WILL NEVER touch my lips, therefore I am BETTER than you"? 3. Eddie vs. Angle at Wrestlemania will be a Dog Collar match with Eddie busting Angle open early in the match, but at the end, Angle wins the title with the help of Brock Lesnar? Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Kurt Angle will never be as straight edge as CM. Anyways, Kurt's promo IMO was great and finally made sense to the storyline.
