Guest cpac Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I am just curious as to see what my fellow smartmarkers are going to get for the new season. I am leaning towards MVP Baseball for the Xbox.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Im not getting a new game this year. The Gamecube is only getting 2 baseball games, MVP and Slugfest.
Karnage Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 ESPN might be good since its going to be Live and I always digged Sega's baseball games (since 2k2).
Guest cpac Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 IGN just gave MVP baseball a 9.0. Not a bad score.
Big McLargeHuge Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Already pre-ordered MVP for the Xbox.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I figure I am going with MVP, because that is from the classic (Triple Play), plus I thought last year's was the best. I will rent ESPN, because I have bought the other ESPN games this year and enjoyed them, I never tried the Sega World Series 2K2 and they never made one last year.
Guest Ahhee Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I'm thinking MVP for either PS2 or PC, more than likely for PC.
Lightning Flik Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 For PS2, I'm going MVP. ESPN's I didn't care for last year, and thought that MVP was a much better game.
Cartman Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 The one thing about MVP that turns me off is the fact that there is no year by year statistic recording. That's just poor.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 The one thing about MVP that turns me off is the fact that there is no year by year statistic recording. That's just poor. That's the one thing that turned me off big time, but since I figure online play is gonna take alot of my time, I probally will only have the chance to play 2 seasons in a franchise. I like to play out every game. So online + minor league season + playing every game = I should only get in a full 1 or 2 years, so year by year stat tracking I probally won't notice. BUT, I think it's incredibly stupid for a game in 2004 not to have this. I got really upset about it. With that said ...... EASY CHOICE. Getting MVP for PS2 (so I can play online) the day it comes out baby.
jimmy no nose Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I'll probably give MVP for PS2 a try this year. I got High Heat last year and World Series(ESPN) the year before that. I guess I'll just give them all a try so maybe I'll have an easier decision next year.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Post your online names for MVP once you get the game. I got it today.
Guest AllCanadian Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Judging by the online trailer MVP has bench clearing brawls so it wins the game of the year by default. Seriously though I think MVP will win the baseball battle this year. EA has picked up it's game so much this year after a rather lackluster 2003. I found myself enjoying the ESPN games so much more last year but this year NHL 2004 blew me away and Madden keeps getting better. Fight night 2004 looks unreal as well. If they can just get NBA Live together they'll own the market.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Well...I don't know about Baseball... But ESPN NFL blew Madden out of the water for me last year. I bought Madden...and played it and said "This is the same F'n game again". Then I took it back and picked up ESPN. The gameplay was...fun...
Guest cpac Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Can you please post a review on MVP baseball. thanks.
