Sandman9000 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Speaking of Homicide, his running knee scrapes make me wince. As does the Rubix Cube/Joker Driver. And B-Boy's Pump Shotty (dropkick with victim sitting in corner).
Guest JebusNassedar Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I'm getting worn out on head drops, to be honest, so they dont impress me any more. But the move that makes me go "DEAR LORD!" the most, is... Chris Candido's Super Powerbomb. What? The guy damn near skids. Although I am on the "anything Samoa Joe does" train. He frightens me. As well as the Hanging Dragon Clutch. That just looks fricken nasty. Like the first time you see the Tarantula, you're simultaneously confused and elated.
Jingus Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Taue's Nodawa... ...off the apron to the floor. That one always makes me cringe.
JST Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Fear the might that is the ASS PUNCH~! Good one, Llakor. I don't know if Llakor can dig up a picture of this, but Kevin Steen's Package Piledriver is a thing of beauty.
Nevermortal Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Homicide wasnt in Best of the Best 3. During the Trent Acid/Sonjay Dutt match, he runs in and gives Trent Acid the Cop Killa.
LucharesuFan619 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 And B-Boy's Pump Shotty (dropkick with victim sitting in corner). You mean Facelift Dropkick?
Sandman9000 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 And B-Boy's Pump Shotty (dropkick with victim sitting in corner). You mean Facelift Dropkick? It's been called that as well, as well as the Facewash, which is also the name given to Nick Gage's bootscrapes. I just think that Pump Shotty is a cooler name for it, and a little more unique than the other two.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Actually "facewash" is the actuall name for the bootscrapes, so says Ohtani through steve corino (or joe, i forget, it was in a commentary)
Guest McShady Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Homicide wasnt in Best of the Best 3. During the Trent Acid/Sonjay Dutt match, he runs in and gives Trent Acid the Cop Killa. Havent seen the match in a while, guess I forgot about Homicide coming out... somehow. My mistake.
Adam Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 I always used to wince at the sight of Tajiris runnign dropkick while in the tree of woe. That HAD to hurt.
Guest Deviant Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 In my opinion, it's one thing to get a "That's got to hurt" reaction, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the move is good or that the wrestler behind it is in any way good. Anyone can drop people on their head, doesn't mean the SAT for example are good. As long as we all know that...
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Speaking of Homicide, his running knee scrapes make me wince. No offense to 'Cide, but Brad Bradley's are ten times more deadly. Bradley's forearms and lariats are also stiff as hell.
Jingus Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Oh, and they're not a finisher, but B-Boy's forearm strikes. The only man in the world who looks like he hits harder than Misawa does on those moves.
Guest Jimbo Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I know this isn't an indy move, however it is still relavent to the topic... Hut has anyone seen Kobashi's new "Diamond Head" move? It's hard to describe, but basically he lifts the guy up for a powebomb, then throws them to the side so they land on the side of their head/neck, and shoulders. I'm not sure if it makes me cringe for the sheer harm it looks like it does to his opponent, as much as it looks like a blatant screw up. It's a real ugly move.
Guest Aecas Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I only know a couple of things about the Diamond Head. I heard it described as a Head Spike Thunder Fire Bomb, which is about as accurate as can be I suppose but whatever type of Powerbomb it is you'd would have to have a lot of trust in Kobashi to nail you with that and not cripple you. He used it back at NOAH's 10/17/02 show on Yoshinobu Kanemaru, dropped him square on the head and practicly killed him as he had to be stretchered out.
Guest Jimbo Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I think he was stretchered out to put over the move because he defintely did not land square on his head.
Guest Aecas Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Fair enough then the only footage I saw was crappy to say the least. Even so landing on head or not the impact didn;t exactly look plesant but hey. If you know somewhere that has some better clips of that please recomend it as I'd like to see it properly so to speak.
Dace59 Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 From the clips and pics I've seen, the Diamond Head is a Thunder Fire Powerbomb swung into a sheer drop Inverted Sideslam. Well, that's how the first use came off. He was going to bust it out, then he got injuried again. He finally bust it out and injuried the dude. It never really got used. It was used about 3 times I remember, or some such.
Guest Aecas Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Well that DEFINITELY clears that one up.
