EdwardKnoxII Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Paramount Set To Remake Pet Semetary Yes, another remake... Paramount Pictures is getting ready to make a remake of Pet Semetary, the 1989 horror movie based on Stephen King's novel. Mike Werb and Michael Colleary (Face/Off) will be doing the screenplay. The book and the film both told the story of a special cemetary where for generations, people come to bury dead pets in order to resurrect them. As they come back in their second life, however, they act in a very aggressive and violent manner. When a family decides to bury their small boy in the ancient Indian burial ground, all hell breaks loose as the sweet innocent child isn't what he used to be. Credit: Cinecon.com, Variety
Youth N Asia Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 The first one was so-so at best...stupid to remake a movie that's not even that old
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 I agree. Considering that it's not really even likely that this film really has a cult following either.....strange.
Nighthawk Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 It has a cult following of one person, myself. I think it was great, but I can't muster much interest in a remake.
lomasmoney Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Is there a statute of limitations on how long a movie has to be out before it can be remade. I mean the original came out what 12 or 13 years ago.
NoCalMike Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 WTF, not even 20 years old. This madness has got to stop already. What's next Halloween Ressurection remake? *shudders*

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I've only seen Pet Sematary 2, starring Edward Furlong - entertaining, but not exactly good. Speaking of remakes, the Gus Van Sant remake of Psycho was not needed. Not needed at all. It's funny the way that, when it's shot-by-shot a carbon copy of the original, it can suck so much more. Mystery? I think not. That's what you get when you've got Hitchcock in the Director's chair, and the horror film that revolutionised the genre.
Slayer Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 It's now official The fountain has run dry in Hollywood
1234-5678 Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 No one will be able to do the "Jud Crandall" role better then Fred Gwynne (Judge from My Cousin Vinny) anyways.
2GOLD Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Can't wait for the remake of "Scream" and the remake of the remake of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" And when is that "American Beauty" remake starting production dammit!
Youth N Asia Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 No one will be able to do the "Jud Crandall" role better then Fred Gwynne (Judge from My Cousin Vinny) anyways. Yeah, Herman Munster had that down. He was the only simi watchable part of the movie.

Guest Choken One Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Why can't Hollywood , if they REALLY want to do re-makes...just look at old movies... I MEAN movies from the 50's...not movies from 1988.
