Kahran, keep the man happy and he may give a hometown discount. His happiness level affects his willingness to sign.

He is happy.

Blow him.

I was wondering if due to the "If its in the game, its in the game" statement whether or not Billy Brewer goes down his slide when a Homer is hit. Also do they do the Sausage races at all?

I'm thinking for a challenge I may start a Brewers franchise since I can't see myself picking an AL team and going up against my Sox.

I haven't allowed a homer at Miller Park yet, (I sim/manage most games) but this did happen in last year's version.

I started a Franchise with the Brewers and Edgar Renteria killed me. 2 Triples and a Walk off Homer. I struck out 9 with Ben Sheets so if I keep doing that I can probably trade him for some damn good prospects at the deadline since I can't afford to resign him. Same goes for Jenkins who I homered with.

Yes... Billy Brewer goes down his slide for every home run.

That's why I chose the Brewers! :headbang:

After reading through this thread I am overcome at the amount of people playing as the Tigers.

The Tigers are the comeback team of the century babyeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a related note.....I'm using Detroit in my ESPN game.

The Tigers aren't the worst team in the game though...

They have good young pitchers... and a couple strong hitters. Craig Monroe, especially.

Yeah but after that terrible year they had last year and then coming out strong at the beginning of this season I think everyone wants to make them the comeback team. I know I do.

I played the BlueJays in the second game of our series, and I loose 10-1 with Schilling pitching.

That is what I get for not playing for 4 days or so.

I hit a homerun with Geoff Jenkins at Generic Beer Ballpark and Billy Brewer went down his slide. I marked like an 8 year old bitch

You get in trouble if you bean a batter in the head following a homerun

I love Billy Brewer. I mark out every time he goes down the slide too.

I had a funny free agent signing today.

A randomly created player named Chan Ho Simontacchi. And, he's black.

Faced knuckleballer Steve Sparks. God that was an adventure. Managed to win 5-1 though. When you DO manage you make contact with one of those, you can park them.

I've played against Wakefield twice. He was a bitch to hit.

Anyone else charge the mound? I wish they gave you fighting controls like in hockey.

Both times I've charged, I've had my guy suspended.

Even when both of the times my guy got beaned in the head.

Jeez. I suck ass at hitting. Not to good at fielding. And I seem unable to strike anyone out.

You have to get them to chase pitches. You won't strike out too many by just tossing in the strike zone. I have seem to have the most success with changes and curves as my KO pitch. It is extremely easy to rack up 12-13 Ks a game with Roy Halladay by getting hitters to chase his killer curve low out of the strike zone.

I have once -- my guy was just ejected for the rest of the game.

Well I bought a new Playstation 2 today so my thoughts on this game are that it is really good but pretty hard. I think the graphics are great and the realism is incredible. I like how each bullpen looks like the actual bullpens and how you can visit the mound and check out the bullpen and everything. I also think the batting is pretty realistic. My only problem is that this game is rediculously hard well atleast it is for me right now. I am starting to get it but I find fielding to be really hard and pitching and batting are not easy either but once I get good at it I think I will really like this game.

Thanks.

Fastballs up and in on lefties works quite well too. Byung-Hyung Kim's Slider low and away to RH hitters is good for a K every time, and I play on All Star level...might be time to turn it up to MVP soon.

Oh, and on All Star level Roy Halladay one hit my ass. My only hit was a David Ortiz homer.

How long do you guys leave your pitchers in for? Assuming they aren't getting shellacked?

I usually go to 7 innings if their stamina or 50% stamina. Whichever comes first... unless they are just closing everyone down.

I'm going to start trying the Earl Weaver lineup strategy. Basically, on road games you place a hitter in place of your weak-hitting starter at the top of your lineup. In this case, David Bell. The pinch-hitter hits in the top of the first, and then Bell come in. For example, here's a lineup I might use......

3B Jason Michaels

RF Bobby Abreu

LF Pat Burrell

1B Jim Thome

C Mike Lieberthal

SS Jimmy Rollins

2B Placido Polanco

CF Marlon Byrd

P (pitcher)

And then after the top of the first, Bell comes in for Michaels. With 7 bench players, I can get away with it.
