Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 By Dave Meltzer After getting checked out by at least two doctors this week, Kurt Angle won't be undergoing neck surgery and it's at this point not a career threatening injury. This breathed a sigh of relief to a lot of people.

SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Even with this in mind, I hope Angle still takes some time off. Seriously, and even if he did retire, he could be proud of his final match at Wrestlemania XX.
Guest Skironox Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I still think this is a red light for Kurt. I don't care if he is cleared medically as of right now, I'd still take loss of feeling in the fingers as a sign to stop. But Kurt will still keep wrestling at full speed until he runs into that final brick wall, and I will still enjoy watching him in action. Damn, such a double edged sword. Superstring 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I really hope Vince makes Kurt take a LONG holiday NOW, maybe they can work something into the draft lottery to get him some time off.
Guest thebigjig Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I keep having visions of Kurt ending up like Dynamite Kid... in a wheelchair by the time he reaches his 40s
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I'd just have Angle do the whole "Injured but not really" bit for the next three months, hiding behind Haas and Benjamin(get the band back together)...Angle can just Play Bret to WGTT's Hart and Bulldog..Hell thrown in Chavo for the Pillman Character (guy whose not really connected to them but still a part of the group)...hell, get A-Train to play Neidhart... AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Choken: There's of course the option to involve Cena for that Bret/Austin vibe, right? There's no real excuse for Angle not to take some time off, since they have a few possible programs to run with until at least Backlash.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I keep having visions of Kurt ending up like Dynamite Kid... in a wheelchair by the time he reaches his 40s Even worse, maybe Angle will injure himself bad enough to be the next Darren Drozdov. I hope not, but it's possible with all the neck injuries he's had.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted March 21, 2004 ::smacks head into desk:: Jesus Christ. Get a life. I think your "Angle should retire" routine is the worst. He's a big boy. He doesn't need a bunch of internet wrestling know-it-alls telling him what to do. Really. Shut up.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 22, 2004 The thought of Kurt Angle ending up in a wheelchair anywhere near now is frightening, as is it when likening him to the Dynamite Kid and/or Darren Drozdov. I'd take time off too, and fuck all those who disagree.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 No, I'm solidly with AS on this. Yeah, it's great Kurt can still wrestle! All he has to do is deal with that whole pesky losing feeling in his extremeties thing every time he does so.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 22, 2004 No fucking way - if he has even the slightest feeling of pain or nothing, he should take time off until he's 100%. Sure, he seems to be taking quite a bit of time off lately, but I'd rather a safe Angle than a paralyzed Angle.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 22, 2004 -iB- isn't that bad...unless he's the guy who posted PORN in the WWE folder. (shakes head in disgust) I'll defend myself with two excuses: 1. It wasn't direct porn - it was a link. 2. It was WWE-related - it was Kitana Baker. Hey, where did that thread get to...? haVoc 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 To update my previous story on Kurt Angle's health, he will definitely not need neck surgery at this time. He is expected to be out another two to three weeks and then will return to TV. WWE realizes the bullet that they dodged here and plan to have Angle work a lighter schedule upon his return. Credit: PWinsider No house shows at all would be a start.
