The Greatest WWF/WWE Pay-Per-Views Of All Time

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking

For example, when I think of A+ WWE Pay-Per-Views, SummerSlam 2002 comes to mind - The Rock and Brock gracing the DVD/VHS cover/promotional poster.

The card was great - but there are plenty more of the like, older and new.

How about you? Which WWF/WWE Pay-Per-View/s really got you going?

wrong fourm.

Go to Polls and Lists.

But Nothing Touches these five

1. WMX7

2. Canadian Stampede

3. Summer Slam 2002

4. 2000 Royal Rumble

5. No Way Out 2001

Not a fan of the older stuff, Choken?

You gotta love Wrestlemania 10...or even 3.

King of the Ring 93 rocks it, and Hogan jobs!

Survivor Series 96 has two great matches and two very good matches.

Your joking right? Mania 3 and 10 come nowhere close to the five Choken mentioned, although they are closer than KOTR 93 and SS96.

WM17 and Canadian Stampede are a lock for the 1-2 positions. Summerslam 01 I wouldn't consider top five, but Rumble and Backlash 2000 deserve their spots. I think Rumble 01 is top five worthy, as is Judgement Day 2000 (perhaps even more so than Backlash) and No Way Out 2001.

For old school PPV's, I am partial to WMVII and Royal Rumble 92, although they aren't the top to bottom shows that the previously mentioned PPV's are.

WM 10 was a two match card...as WM3 was a one match card..

93 had one great match...not a great ppv...

Yes...SS96 was good...a ****3/4 and ***3/4 match and a entertaining Opener...but it wasn't a classic PPV.

i thought we were talking about the PPV's...meaning the entire card...top to bottom...

The five I mentioned were nearly flawless.

WMX7 had THREE ****+ Matches(Austin/Rock, TLC2, Angle/Benoit), a Fantastic Sportz Entertainment Match(McMahon/McMahon), Two other *** matches (Eddy/Test and Taker/HHH)

CS97 had a ****1/2 LW match, a INSANE main event with the hottest crowd maybe ever, a Great ***3/4 brawl, a good powermatch. Short on content HIGH on quality.

SS02 Has the Mysterio/Angle, HBK/HHH, Rock/Brock, Eddie/Edge,RVD/Benoit...all going over ***+...

Royal Rumble had a ***** Street Fight, a **** rumble, A GREAT ***3/4 Double Tables Match, A GREAT debut from Tazz...aside from the quickie tag match that was shortened for time reasons and the mae young thing...a great show.

Yes...SS96 was fantastic.

All of Bret's matches were ***+ at KOTR, and Hogan JOBS! (That's why I love it :)) Nothing horrible at all on it.

Backlash 2000 is a good PPV, but one of the 5 best _ever_?

Yeah, I forgot to mention Summerslam 98. KOTR was pretty decent too.

Hogan jobbed at WM6...does that make it a great ppv? No.

Bret had three ***+ matches? Perfect was **** but the other two were "there". Not a horrible show by anymeans but a fun show at best.

Gotta give some love to SummerSlam 2000 as well...

Eariler I had Backlash 2000 on my top five...I replaced that with NO WAY OUT 2001.

This ppv was fantastic.

Three **** Matches, a incredibly surprising good Stratus/Stephanie Match and the other matches were tolerable.

Don't forget...uh....Summerslam 1992. Kick-ass double main event, and a very tolerable under-card....except for Nailz/Virgil and UT/Kamala.

SS1992 had a ***** main...a ***1/4 WWF Title Match and nothing else.

Not quite perfect but a good show nontheless...just not TOP FIVE material.

Edited.

Well, Choken edited his post to echo my sentiments - I felt that Summerslam 2002 needed some love here for a solid card, but I guess he made a mistake earlier and mentioned the 2001 show (which is bogged down by a few actively BAD matches).

Wow. I think everyone knows what I mean by that.

Yeah....I actually know where these kind of topics go.

Hell, even you might be mod material, except for the fact you lose every argument with Frigid Soul

precisely. It was a typo that went over my head. One ****1/4 match, ***3/4 IC Title Match and a *** ladder match...not bad...a couple of forgetable matches but nothing completely sucktactular.

Guest Mr. Adam

1: Wrestlemania X-7. Rock - Austin, HHH - Taker, TLCII, Benoit - Angle, Kane in a golf cart. This show had everything.

2: Royal Rumble 2000. The beginning of the WWF's workrate boom. Other than APA- Outlaws, everything is good - great here.

3: Survivor Series 96. I love this one. I only recently came across it and it's a keeper.

4: One Night Only. Bret - Taker is around ****1/4, Owen - Vader is excellent, Dude - Trips is great and the main was about ****. Great crowd, great show.

5: No Way Out 2001. You have Trips- Austin, the Fatal Four Way, Rock- Angle and some other stuff that doesn't suck.

UYI

i totally agree...

Benoit vs. HBK vs. HHH - *****, best Thriple Threat ever.

Eddie vs. Angle - ****1/2, awesome match, nice that Eddie retained

Jericho vs. Christian - ***3/4 almost ****, great match with pretty cool moves by both guys and the stoy was great

Rock n Sock vs. Evolution - around ****, Flair and Rocky were GOLD here

that's FOUR matches in the ****/***** range, that's getting into XM X-7 territory

I pretty much agree with those ratings, so I wouldn't mind calling WM XX one of the best. My Top 5 would probably be...

1. Summerslam 1998

2. WM X7

3. Canadian Stampede

4. Survivor Series 1996

5. Toss up among WM XX, Judgment Day 2000, Royal Rumble 2001, No Way Out 2001, and others.

It's all subjective. And I really think that a great show is about more than just the number of stars you give out, too...some shows are just more entertaining than others.

of course is all a matter of opinion, and i usually give star ratings not based really on how good the match was, but more on how entertaining it was.

Id like to toss a vote to Wrestlemania 14...

The great build gave it the first epic feel for a WM in years...

-Owen-HHH - ***1/2

-Mixed Tag - Surprising ***

-Rocky getting more and more over with the GenniferFlowers promo, and Shamrock match

-Dumpster match was some good North American garbage wrestling

-Taker-Kane - the match sucked, but the markout value was worth a * or 2

-Austin-HBK - ****1/2 and the start of a huge era
