Guest Frank_Nabbit Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Picking your nose and eating it is one of the best ways to stay healthy, according to a top Austrian doctor. Innsbruck-based lung specialist Prof Dr Friedrich Bischinger said people who pick their noses with their fingers were healthy, happier and probably better in tune with their bodies. He says society should adopt a new approach to nose picking and encourage children to take it up. Dr Bischinger said: “With the finger you can get to places you just can’t reach with a handkerchief, keeping your nose far cleaner. “And eating the dry remains of what you pull out is a great way of strengthening the body’s immune system. “Medically it makes great sense and is a perfectly natural thing to do. In terms of the immune system the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected, and when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine. “Modern medicine is constantly trying to do the same thing through far more complicated methods, people who pick their nose and eat it get a natural boost to their immune system for free.” —Ananova
kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 There's no shame in having to dig deep. You need the right tool for the job sometimes...

Damaramu Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 Sick. I never ever ate my boogers as a kid......I just found creative places to get rid of them at.....(under the lunch table, under a chair, on the bathroom wall at school......) but I never ate them. But still.......this has to be flawed research or something.

Next you're gonna say you stuck your chewed gum under your desk in school.

You can be really nasty and wipe it on your wallet or money, and have other people fondle it.

Kapoutman Posted March 29, 2004 Report Posted March 29, 2004 The thing is that it really makes sense.

MarvinisaLunatic Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 because little kids dont have fully developed immune systems.. I have to agree that this makes sense to a point.
MrRant Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 That and because some parents freak out if a kid eats a cookie that was on the ground for 3 seconds. I mean I can see that when they are in their first year when their immune system is week but around that year point the 5 second rule applies. * Unless it's like a popsicle or something sticky that hair and shit sticks to immediately.

I'm pretty sure a homeless guy will eat it. He can peel off the hair and make a toupee.
DerangedHermit Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 This guy and Jocelyn Elders should get hitched up.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Well, you could just sniffle your snots and gulp em down your throat like a forced nasal drip, they don't necessarily have to be picked and then eaten.
EricMM Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 wouldn't that cause post-nasal drip? This is just weird. Like, if there were benefits to ingesting one's own semen (reclaiming lost protein?) I still don't think it'd catch on... This is the same way.
