Gabe Sapolsky Heading To Nashville To Meet With TN

Recommended Posts

Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky will be heading down to Nashville this week to meet with Jeff Jarrett concerning the situation involving NWA TNA asking their contracted workers to no longer work for ROH, which was first reported by Mike Johnson last week. The sides are working on a compromise to the situation since it caused an uproar among the internet fan base last week, with them leaning strongly towards ROH.

TNA even trying to hurt ROH is pointless and stupid. If their product wasn't bad enough to drive me away months ago, shit like this would.

No mergers. God no. Keep TNA away from RoH.

Good call. No one wants to work with a promotion that was owned by a homosexual pedophile.

Actually, no one wants to work for a promotion that was built to supply the income to the original tape bootlegger who got someone thrown in jail for tape bootlegging.

No, actually no one wants to work with a promotion where Leonard 316 runs around killing everyone and Vince Russo is spotlighted on all of the shows.

Tim

oh, you're right, I forgot that that's worse than the pedophile thing.

Pedophile or not, it's still good wrestling. I could care less if the promotion was run by Hitler's necrophiliac illegitimate transsexual son, I'd still watch it. Morals are overrated.

Tell that to the TV exec who's considering putting your program on its network and see what they say.

Like I give a fuck if they're on TV. If they're on TV, ok, good, if they can't ever get on TV because of Feinstein, then that's good too since they put on a hell of a live show, and it seems they're doing pretty good as it stands right now. Better than the Jarrett & Russo comedy hour, it seems.

ROH has nothing to offer. They don't have anyone to an exclusive contract, so it's not like they can share workers like TNA can. RF Video has been damaged goods for a while now, not much help there.

I'm looking at it from a TNA point of view. I guess you're looking at it from ROH's point of view saying they don't need TV. As setup now, ROH is close to maxing out. They are never going to draw more than they are right now with their current business plan. If they are content doing what they're doing, fine, we all get good wrestling then. But they have a niche audience and are very limited at who they will draw. Meltzer and the other wrestling journalists have also said this many times.

Does this mean TNA is better than ROH? Hell no. All I was saying is if you're trying to get on TV (and TNA is), then your 4 line post about how morals don't matter is not going to work. Actually, that wouldn't work for any business.

Except the unhappiness of the wrestlers who are forced to make a choice and the backlash from angry fans. Emails from fans saying they wouldn't watch TNA anymore if this went through was enough for TNA to reach out to ROH, so obviously that is something.

Not to mention, that as far as we know, TNA contracts don't give the promotion power over chosing which indy bookings a wrestler can take (unless TNA wants to run a show that day). If that is the case, then TNA has no ground to stand on. ROH can simply stand their ground and say they aren't going to stop booking anyone, and they only way TNA can respond is by not pushing a wrestler who works for both companies. Of course, all that does is piss of the wrestlers and the fans.

If TNA does have the right to refuse bookings for a wrestler, ROH still has ground to stand on. Wrestlers like working for ROH and will be pissed when they are told they can't work there.

They've stated that the Feinstein situation has nothing to do with it. So using that to defend TNA doesn't work. When reports come out that say "TV executives have a problem with ROH because of Feinstein" then we can bring that up. Hpwever, right now, all the reports say it has nothing to do with Feinstein, rather the fact that ROH is seen as a national company. On a side note, way to throw "homosexual" in there as if that makes his actions worse.

I just don't see a merger benifiting TNA that much or if at all

I agree with that. A merger wouldn't benefit either promotion at all. Of course, I think the chances of that happening or even being discussed are slim to none.

To a lot of people, especially those in the deep south, it probably would make it worse. Digging underage kids is bad enough, but digging underage boys???

PLEASE NOTE: that's not my viewpoint, but just because you or I don't find it worse doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of people that do.

I'm not saying that the internet fans don't buy TNA. But the people that are such staunch ROH supporters that they don't like anything else, would take the time to actually write a wrestling promotion, and would be upset by TNA taking their talent away aren't ordering TNA. There are TONS of wrestling fans who casually browse the internet who have never seen ROH and know nothing about it, but do know TNA.

There is a strong crossover of fans. They would be hurt by a boycott. They were FREAKING OUT when ROH fans emailed fox.

Further, the original sources of this story said it had absolutely nothing to do with the Feinstein thing anyway, so this whole debate is pointless. This is a promotion jealous of the success of another jumping on an opportunity to try to fuck with them. The real irony is that if they do get all those guys to leave, ROH would make new stars, and TNA would probably still misuse them.

What happens if this really is the TV exes telling TNA that they want exclusive wrestlers? Should TNA tell Fox to Fuck off?

Yes...shitloads of sarcasm. Their is a major misconception that ROH fans only watch ROH. They watch everything. They are just more inclined to bitch and whine about TNA's product. I think that it would be better suited that people realized that people just have ROH as their favorite organization.....and that they don't HATE everything else....that is excluding the hardcore fanboys.

And your feeling would be wrong.

Granted, there are ROH fans who don't watch or like TNA. However, there are just as many that do watch TNA. I've seen plently of discussion about current TNA on-air happenings on the ROH boards (at least as much discussion as there is about the WWE). At the Baltimore shows, I was surprised at the amount of fans I heard who were TNA and ROH fans (I haven't noticed that at ROH shows in other cities, but that is still noteable). So the assumption that ROH fans only watch ROH is silly and innaccurate.

If this did happen, there would be a good chunk of people who would stop buying TNA PPV's.
