Booker T considering to retire...

Recommended Posts

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes

Booker T is very happy with his current main event level push on Smackdown, but is still telling friends that he will retire soon. He has been fighting with back problems for awhile now and many believe that once his back starts to bother him heavily again, he will retire.

I don't believe it yet, because he said the same thing last summer. Damn these people need to make up their mind.

Edit: With the way he's been treated since he came back, he might as well retire.

I guess he's happy Taker squashed him in about minute several times at House Shows.

Damn. I would've liked to see him get at least one WWE title reign before hanging up the boots.

If he's retiring because of an injury, then I agree with him - it's better to go out with a bang than be a vegetable.

Not like it's easy to walk away from something they've devoted themselves to for years.

He has way too much going for him now and way too much money on the horizon for him to retire yet. There is an abundance of feuds he can go into on Smackdown!, including a high profile one with Eddie Guerrero should they need a serious contender to the title.

Don't expect Booker to retire just yet.

But if his back problems continue, he may have no choice.

And in regards to a possible feud with Eddy Guerrero, how would they keep that going through the Champion's feud with Bradshaw when there was what was already a great kick start on SmackDown! last week?

Did you start watching wrestling yesterday or something?

It isn't exactly uncommon for wrestlers to work through seemingly serious injuries just so they can continue on with a promotional push they are recieving, or even just to continue wrestling.

And I didn't say start the feud with EddIE now, I said it would a good promotional move to look into in the near future, as Eddie is over as all hell and Booker can play a good heel when he wants to.

Regarding the injury/ies, it is common, but there is also the chance of paralysis and the like.

It would seem rather tacky though for Eddy to start feuding with Booker T after Bradshaw, seeing as they had what would have a nice feud start last week. I'm not saying that it can't be done, though.

Eddy: "I defended my WWE Championship at Judgment Day against Bradshaw. But there is still something that has been bugging me ever since the first SmackDown! after the Draft Lottery - Booker T."

'Use Your Imagination' from there.

Come to think of it, getting squashed by UT at house shows may not be all that bad. It saves wear & tear on his back, while enabling him to take home a house show paycheck. Better to do that, than have him wrestle 20 minutes every night, taking time off his career.

WWE is not giving Book any reason to stay, getting squashed by Taker doesn't mean main event push.

As Oppose to any other wrestler he could have been squashed by in his career...

Smells the Taker hate

I agree 100%; the house shows don't matter, so why bother aggravating an injury when you don't have to?

Hey, nobody seemed to care when Andre was jobbing in 1min to the Warrior around the horn back in '89...and that's when house shows meant something!

Look, you're going to have to get used to seeing SD! Lite at house shows; that's Vince's strategy and it's going to take a while to change that. All I'm saying is this: why bother busting your ass (and possibly ending your own career) in front of 2500 in Biloxi when you can go out in a blaze of glory on TV or PPV?

Wow, I never thought about that. Good point.

Because the people in attendance didn't pay good money to see a fucking 2 minute squash?

What do you expect at House shows? Not saying it shouldn't have been a minute squash. Booker and Taker can go round and round longer. What if it was his back and they didn't want to screw Booker Up at some House show so he can be somewhat fresh for the TV events?

Exactly. House Shows are just there for a fun afternoon. They don't advance TV storylines, usually have OVW guys in some matches, and are usually just practices for the more important matches.

I have no idea what a ticket costs for a non-TV event, so I'm guessing it's nowhere near the cost for a Live RAW telecast event.

Actually the house show tickets to the show I just went to here in Louisville were 20, 30, and 40 dollars. That is actually about the same as a TV taping really. I think if they lowered those prices a bit they might draw more people to the house shows.

I guess that you could say that House Shows are just fan watch-ins, where WWE make more in revenue than they do in what they paid for the fans to watch-in.
