ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2004 Why do Asian wrestlers only have one name in WWE? We have Tajiri, Funaki, Akio, and Sakoda. The only exceptions are Ultimo Dragon and Gail Kim. And why are they just announced as being from "Japan"? Well, for Akio, they'd have to make up another name for him, since his real name is Jimmy Yang. Â Sometimes Josh Matthews would bust out the "Yoshihiro" name for Tajiri. Â Sakoda don't know about. Â And Funaki used Sho Funaki a bit when he came in...but I don't know why he dropped it.
