That was some fucking gooooooooooooood reality tv. Scriped or not, who gives a fucking fuck, it owned. OWNED.

 

This episode dealt with concepts of love, relationship and fate. Boston Rob totally fucking earned my respect tonight for going out on a wire and risking it all just to save Amber. The post-immunity scene is one of the best Survivor segments I can think of in a while. Mariano's got the tears in his eyes and Lex does the right thing and sends Jerri packing. The merge will be very interesting.

 

And Jerri actually got a bit of sympathy from me. She came to a new house with a better life ahead of her and a seemingly easy vote-out that turned into the worst thing imaginable. I think it probably drove home how disposable she's been seeing as how all 3 of her tribe mates turned on her in a heartbeat.

My favorite part was when they were doing the challenge and had to know the history of all the Survivor episodes. When that one guy choke-slammed the little weasle off the plank.....gold.

This season of All-Stars has produced some great moments already. I thought the episode where Richard got voted out had drama, but this totally beat that. Shii-Ann said it right when she said it was so Godfather-esque. I also agree with you in that it was so amazingly edited and put together. Boston Rob is one damn helluva good "character" for this TV show. The things he does and moves he makes in the game are some of the most entertaining wheeling and dealing I've seen in the past few Survivors for quite a while.

 

I also think that the former Mogo Mogo tribe is now screwed. If I were Lex, I would have never trusted Rob at all and would have easily voted out Amber. No way am I going into a merge down another player. I wonder what's going to happen next week, I doubt they will merge the week after the new tribes were picked. It would be amazing is the new Chapera lost and Amber still somehow squeezes past the vote.

I've always been a huge Rob Mariano fan. He's probably the single most compelling person to ever appear in reality tv. Forget Jonny Fairplay, that guy was a silly cartoon villian, Robfather is the real deal. I have never seen another tribe fear one person's wrath. Its just insane.

 

What an amazing find this guy is for Burnett and All Stars would be NOTHING without Rob Mariano! While everyone else plays Under the Radar, this guy is playing a freaking Godfather game!

Rob certainly seems to have learned from his many mistakes in Marquesas and is playing a game similar to that of Brian the pornstar, the best Survivor since Rich. The one thing that Rob is making a mistake about is this Amber thing. He is not as behind the scenes as Brian was. He's still not as good as either Brian or Rich, but he's controlling this game certainly.

The one thing that Rob is making a mistake about is this Amber thing. He is not as behind the scenes as Brian was. I found it rather ironic that Kathy was in the Rob role from Marquesas - she knew that she was going, and she's trying her hardest to make sure that everyone else will see what's going on with Rob and all his suballiances.

 

The thing here is that you KNOW who Rob will take to the final 2 if it gets that far, so wouldn't it make sense to break up that alliance? And the guy is proving to be a challenge machine, so it behooves you to give him the boot at the first opportunity.

 

Oh, and it may not have been about strategy, but really from a jury standpoint it definitely makes you look good.

Well, after her performance in the immunity challenge tonight It is obvious that Shii Ann has been holding back this whole game until this point, which is a great strategy. Earlier in the season when Colby made the comment about her having it easy by coasting might have been a little bit of foreshadowing by the post-production team. It should get interesting from here, but I'm pulling for my man Rupe! Gotta keep that Indiana Love Alive.

Basically Rob has everyone hearing what they want to hear, so they're not voting for him. And as far as Alliances go, Tom has a final 3 alliance, Jenna and Rupert have a final four alliance, so Alica is the odd (but buff) woman out. And since Shii An didn't hear the others singing a different tune about who to vote out, she stuck with Alicia.

Well, to be the Man (or Woman, in this case), you've got to beat the Man. Shii An is trying to be THE playa, but she knows (and has for a while) that Boston Rob IS the playa. And to be honest, if she wanted to play up winning immunity, GOOD. Everyone on that island knows that she's a lame duck who's getting Pagonged at some point, so why not celebrate?

 

Shii has become my second favourite this season, behind Boston Rob. She's speaking her mind, telling it like it is, and pissing off EVERYONE in the process. Hmm, kinda like someone was in Marquesas before he got voted off...

 

Oh and that was a serious kickass performance from Shii in the immunity challenge. Didn't think anyone could top T-Bird in that one, but Shii didn't really even move. And the whole "facing away from everyone else" was a great subtle reminder of where she stood in the tribe.

Oh good fucking god! You idiots had the chance to vote that prick Boston Rob out and you let it slip through your fingers! GOD DAMMIT! I WANT HIS ASS GONE! If he wins this....god I'll never watch this show again. Is everyone blind!? Are they stupid! Get rid of that fucker!

 

Then again....my mom pointed something out. Amber's smart. She knows that Rob is taking her to the Final 2. She also knows that he's doing all the dirty work and everyone hates him. So she knows he won't win because the jury won't vote for him.

These guys all seem to have forgotten how to play the game. Once again the Even Survivor Curse kicks in. So far with the exception of Australia they have all sucked, while all the odd number ones (Palau Tiga, Africa, Thailand & Pearl Islands) have been great.

BUT, if they do make the final 2, would the jury vote for the player or the lacky? Or would they see Ambers strategy as smart instead of lame? Rob has outplayed everyone thus far, the jury SHOULD reward that. Whether feelings get in the way is another matter.

 

I don't think Shii Ann was holding back, I just think that in this particular challenge where concentration really meant more than physical endurance or strength, she won. I was surprised (and not) that Rob lost the way he did. He got too confident.

She had a lot of allies on that jury too, and was playing against somebody who was not all that well liked. Christy was really the one exception that voted as you said. It was a different situation.

Jenna was very popular with the Amazon jury and there were some real social realities that pointed to her winning over Matt. It was the audience that didn't like Jenna and her playing a Heather like game. I hated her winning as much as anyone else.

 

Rob is going to have a tough time winning, so I'd be happy with him just finishing the game and this great edit Burnett has given him. He's the only one who came to play and Burnett is editing the show that way. Everyone else is under the radar and riding Rob's coattails.

God.......Rob is an idiot. He thinks he's playing a smart game but he's not. He's systemtically alienating every member of that jury and making them hate him.

If Rob doesn't pick who goes to the Final 2......then whoever does would be smart to take Rob....b/c that jury will not vote for him.

Also......I hated the way they are stubbornly sticking to there original plan. It's just irritating as hell. And how the stupid idiots still playing won't get rid of Rob or Amber when they have the chance.

I don't understand why Big Tom was voted off. It seemed Rupert was aware Rob was playing everyone and that they needed to get rid of him but all of a sudden, Big Tom leaves. It doesn't make sense when they could have just easily voted off Amber, who no one seems to like too much and eradicated Rob's power. Oh well. I am wondering though, what if Rupert and Jenna align to take out Amber or Rob and Amber and Rob vote off either Rupert or Jenna? What do they do in case of a voting tie?

I still think Rob is playing a pretty smart game. He's relying on the idea that people will be able to put their bias on the side for one night, voting for who played the game BEST rather than who they actually like more. People like Lex, who prefer to think of themselves as masterminds of the game, can hopefully appreciate that Rob outplayed him - lying and deceit are parts of the game - and will reward him accordingly with it. If Rob does get to the Final 2, and he doesn't wind up winning, it would be nothing less than a travesty. Everyone is riding his coattails to get as far as they do, they're too intimidated to vote him out, he's able to win the challenges when he needs to.....he's been the ultimate player this time around.

 

Survivor history shows that, for the most part, the jury rewards who the best player was, regardles of personal feelings. In Season 1, Richard managed to win despite being a huge asshole. The people there KNEW he played the game the way he was supposed to, and they gave them the money he deserved. In Survivor: Thailand, the jury rewarded Brian for being as smart as he was, despite the fact that he had lied and outmanuevered all of them. Considering that this jury is filled with "All-Stars", I would hope that they could get this one right. And, despite all the eye-rolling and nasty looks they have given Rob up to this point, I still think they'll reward him the money if he happens to make the Final 2. As they should.

I also think the jury is going to reward Rob and vote him the winner if he makes the final two. Rob has been the best Survivor player in a long while and he definately deserves the million dollars. Everyone in the tribe practically bows down to him, like Rupert offering Rob the coconut as soon he realised Rob overheard him and Jenna talking.

I'm still pulling for Rupert "Macho Man" Savage in this one, but the only way he's going to get that million is if he wins immunity two times in a row.

This season is terrible. Aside from Rob, none of them are playing with any sort of intelligence whatsoever, and even he made a bad move this week. This season went downhill as soon as Rich got voted out.

 

Rob is obviously the best guy there, but he's still not playing nearly as good a game as Brian or Rich did on their respective shows. And this seems a particularly stupid jury so he probably won't even win. It reminds me of Marquesas (easily the worst show prior to this one). Whether this will be worse depends on the ending. The season can redeem itself if Rob takes home the prize. But I doubt it.

I so don't want Rob to take home the prize. He's not playing good. Everyone else is playing stupid. If everyone would stop for one second and go "Oh wait a minute.......Rob's a lying asshole.....let's vote him off." then we wouldn't be having this convo. They've seen him do it to each jury member.....over and over!

No way the jury votes him. Besides Amber's playing the best game. She's sitting back and letting Rob do the dirty work so he's the most hated man alive and he takes her to the final two and they're forced to vote for her out of spite for Rob. She is smart.
