Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 The Red Sox end up with a great team but of course everybody is injured. Mendoza put on the DL Today with shoulder tendanitis which explains why he didn't pitch last night and save some of our short relievers. Also if Kim was healthy then Arroyo could have pitched yesterday and saved the bullpen for today. Ugh
Bruiser Chong Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Well, the Yanks and Brewers simotaneously fell apart here. Both games were tied and now one's 11-2 and the other's 7-1.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I just stopped in to mock the Yankee defense. *mocks*
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 The Red Sox can say that they are without Trot Nixon, Nomar Garciappara, and Frisbee Kim...all 3 are All Star caliber players. The Yankees are without John Lieber and getting crushed by Tampa Bay and Chicago. They have no excuse Also Bernie Williams dancing about in CF as he couldn't find the baseball is hilarious.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Contreras really isn't very good. And will they PLEASE stop calling this a modern day murderers row? In six games they've been crushed three times and won two squeakers.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I wonder how long Mattingly will last as hitting coach since the team isn't hitting. It would also be funny to see Steinbrenner tear up the extension based on the team's performace today.
Kahran Ramsus Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Jays finally win their first of the year with a 10-5 win at Fenway. Oddly enough the Jays season thus far has gone exactly like my season with them in MVP 2004. If the trend holds, it means the Jays will win a further 19 in a row.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Yeah, the Yanks' bats better start coming to life because there really isn't a truly weak bat in the lineup the majority of the time. No way should they be getting crushed or barely winning games. Although in all fairness, they're in the spot they're in today because of poor pitching and defense.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Javy Lopez hits a 2 run homer to give the Os a 3-1 lead over the devil rays.. If the O's win they would be in first place which Im betting would be the latest in the season they've been in first place over the last 6 horrible seasons..
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Another great win for the REDS! Junior homers. Dunn homers. Casey smokes the ball AGAIN! Harang pitches GREAT and the bullpen pitches great! 1 ER in 12 innings this year by the pen. Castro grabbed a few web gems starting for Larkin tonight too! Reds: 5 Pirates 1. WOO!
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 I've got my eye on the Phillies/Marlins game. Tied at three in the seventh.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 TB has the winning run in Crawford at 3rd with 2 outs after 2 SBs.. Julio somehow manages to get out of the inning.. To Extra Innings again!
razazteca Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Smoltz blows another save as he gives up a homerun with 2 outs in the 9th inning.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Os lose 4-3 in 10. Tampa is in first place..
Guest Anglesault Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 (edited) Although in all fairness, they're in the spot they're in today because of poor pitching and defense. One run won't win a game. Edit: Fucking cable went out in the top of the ninth, I just figured it stayed the same way. Three runs won't really win that many games either. The Czech Republic Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 I really wanted to see this Cubs-Braves game but it's blacked out here, WHY? It's a road game!
CanadianChris Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 One run won't win a game. It will if you're playing the Dodgers.

It's in the 12th inning now. I live in Wisconsin but it's still "greater Chicago area" so I guess that means they have to black it out. And I don't get Fox Sports Chicago on my non-digital cable system, so I guess I've just gotta depend on WGN coverage.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 DUDE! These TBS overlays rock. And the new things they are doing with these graphics are very innovative. I'm jealous.

Guest OctoberBlood Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 More great news for Reds fans. Claussen tonight: 6 IP, 11 K'S! 3 H! He'll be called up very soon. Especially if Haynes struggles Sunday.

razazteca Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 Derek Lee's 2nd base steal was questionable.
