Guest Coffey Report post Posted April 5, 2004 He's sick? I thought he just had his tonsils taken out. He should be over that by now....
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 5, 2004 So its 'better' to keep Shelton off the PPV entirely and kill any and all momentum that he might get from this program? It's 'better' to stick him in their with someone the crowd doesn't care about like Garrison Cade? Sometimes you put wrestling quality aside in order to continue your storylines and this is one of those times. Otherwise what do you do with Benjamin? PS: They need to play off the Changed Triple H as being a direct result of Wrestlemania... like Chris shattered him in some way that Hunter doesn't have the confidence or the 'awe' factor from the guys that he used to have. It make Chris a larger factor in the show and allows Hunter to continue to carry the bulk of the 'storytelling' as far as the actual gabbing is concerned. Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Put Shelton in the main event and make it a fatal 4-way. I think he can only add on to what has already been proven to be a great match.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 I doubt that will happen. They're already running promo's for the triple threat at Backlash.
Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 They can always change promos. Have matches ever changed in the past even when the promos already came out?
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 5, 2004 They could do that, but I'm simply not convinced that Shelton is set up well enough as a prime time player to job him even in the main event of a PPV. He's just coming off the biggest win of his career and to job him two-three weeks later strikes me as jumping the gun. And don't even consider puytting the belt on him... thats crazy. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Haven't they been hyping the Triple Threat as the penultimate meeting between HHH and HBK? Shelton would get lost in the shuffle between the HHH/HBK, HHH/Benoit, HBK/Benoit stories.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted April 5, 2004 He may get lost in the shuffle leading up to Backlash, but if (when?) Triple H wins the title again, guess who's knocking at the door?

It's 'better' to stick him in their with someone the crowd doesn't care about like Garrison Cade? Sometimes you put wrestling quality aside in order to continue your storylines and this is one of those times. Otherwise what do you do with Benjamin? Since when did "Don't put Benjamin in a singles match with Flair/Batista" = "Keep him off the PPV" ? When did it = "put him in with (someone like) Garrison Cade"? I'm reading what I posted, but I don't see the connection. There are plenty of things Benjamin could do on the PPV - he could corner Chris Benoit, he could be inserted into the 3 way, he could be a special guest referee either in the 3 way or the foley/orton match, he could be put in a sort of WM-type match where the 3 way gets changed... Sometimes it's best to do something fresh with someone rather than sticking 'em against Flair and Batista. The win (or loss) would mean nothing and the match would suck so much. Guest PowerPB13 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 When I heard Christian saying "I got the match" last week without specifically saying what the match WAS, I immediately thought "Jericho vs. Christian & Trish in a Very Special Handicap Match"... Either that or Trish is the Very Special Guest Referee. -Patrick
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 6, 2004 exactly...Trish will be the Special Guest Ref...and Jericho will do the wacky "KNOCK TRISH OUT AND USE HER UNCONCIOUS HANDS TO MAKE THE PIN" finsh...Christian bitches...attacks Jericho viciously the next night...sends Jericho the Hospital for two weeks...Jericho comes back and they agree that this time Trish needs to stay out...and let the boys play games...in a...STEEL CAGE MATCH at Bad Blood. 25 Minutes....Jericho gets the gory win. razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 At least one championship has to change hands tonight because Raw needs to shake things up especially when they are up against the NCAA Final game on CBS.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Or they can just have a nice opener segment to build the show. With that being said...Victoria/Molly opens with a EXCITING 11 minute match as the fans flips to the title game and forget about raw... Thus Black Man Going over=No Ratings draw. Downhome 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Now that I see that again, Benoit wasn't even trying to get HHH's attention or anything. It was PURELY HHH's fault, a mistake he should't have made at all, making him look like an even bigger fool that I thought when I first saw it. That was perfectly booked.
