Help me identfy more movies

Recommended Posts

What can I say? They're hitting me with obscure flicks with very little detail. Any infor for either movie would be a great help.

"I’m trying to remember a film I saw when I was younger but I’ve no idea what it's called. it was about a couple of boys who live in Arizona or some American desert region who are convinced that recent disappearances are caused by vampires and that the stranger who's dating their sister is one of them. It turns out to be punks as one boy gets snatched into their van while walking along the road wrapped in the stars and stripes for some reason. Any idea what movie?"

"When I was a kid (80's) I remember watching a horror movie about some teens on campout in like the moutains/mining area so they could all go motocrossing/atving and shit. Anyway, stereotypical psycho, dumb, silent guy starts to kill them off. I remember a scene where someone opens a door and an African American girl falls out with a pick ax in her head. The lead guy looked like the main dude in Gremlins (from what I remember). "

The dude is from Gremlins is Zach Galligan, but nothing of his I know or read in his filmography sounds right. Thanks again.

The only way the first one is Lost Boys is if it's a terrible description. Because the description doesn't describe Lost Boys.

Well, Satanico, if you replace "sister" with "mother," it's practically the exact same plot. It's easy to see how they got the "desert" setting, since the house where the two boys live is isolated and is in the middle of what could pass off as a desert.

As for the second one...definitely no idea. Maybe Pumpkinhead? But I'm getting that one just from the dirtbike/camping thing.

Yeah I know there's a good chance it's Lost Boys IF the description isn't fully accurate.

C'mon guys, I know Lost Boys. I didn't think that was it. It said they thought it was vampires, but they weren't. And I don't remember anyone in Lost Boys draped in the American flag. I figured these would be tricky. Thanks for the attempts.

For #2 check out these.

Don't Go In the Woods

Just Before Dawn

It could also be a weak description for Race with the Devil.

I thik you might be right about #1, Zack. That description might apply to "Near Dark". Hell, that's pretty much the only vampires-in-the-desert movie I can think of.

John Carpenter's Vampires was in the desert. I'm not saying that was it, I'm just saying it was in the desert. From Dusk Till Dawn was probably in the desert too. I hate that movie, so I don't really know. It seemed desertish though.

Is #1 Near Dark?

That's what I thought as well, but Deacon says these punks in this horror movie of his aren't really vamps. Plus the description doesn't mesh, 'lest something's really off about his memory.

The Near Dark guys did snag folks off the road with that trailer-home of theirs, but nobody wearing an American flag that I can remember.

Yeah, see, I thought about Near Dark for that one too. And again the description didn't quite match. I appreciate all the help, it's that these peopole write in with the sketchiest of misremembered details and expect me to pull the title out of my ass. Although, admittedly, I did figure out another movie for this coming week with nothing to go on but "fat guy on a train wearing purple pants."

Why didn't you like Dusk til Dawn? It's got violence and Salma Hayek being delicious.
