NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 All these years later... Thessen still doesn't have a movie career, well other than the countless made for TV movies that she's done. I did enjoy Fastlane, though. Cancelled too soon... To be fair though, she did do a rather lengthy and memorable run on 90210 and IMHO gave the show new life when she joined the cast. Her first episode, where she basically gets high and runs down how all of the cast members suck donkey balls remains my all-time favorite 90210 moment... this is true, and the thing I liked the most about her character was that she was very unapologetic about her weed use. I mean she wasn't portrayed as some damsle in teen crisis mode that was trying to "escape reality" She was just a teenager that liked to get high casually, much like a lot of teens out there. Now I stopped watching that show maybe 1-2 years into Valeries debut so maybe later on they changed her character, but this is how I remember her.
Guest JMA Report post Posted April 9, 2004 My two favorite Peter Engel shows would have to be the original Saved By The Bell (duh) and USA High (very good show). I remember faithfully watching USA High to the end. Even after Laz left it was still good. Mario Lopez guest-starring was also cool.
Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 Valarie on 90210 was great for the first season, but here character just always did the wrong thing after that. Vanessa Marcell is just HOT. It's hard to fine anybody that is just flat out as beautiful as she is. Unfortaunetly I think she's getting old now, she doesn't look as good on Vegas. I'm surprised Hang Time has so many fans. I thought I was the only one who watched that, along with VR Troopers.
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Here is a photo I found that shocked me. A pic of TORI WITH JESSIE AND KELLY. This is the only time we'll see them together.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Out of all of those shows, the only one I used to watch long after it was cool in reruns was California Dreams which I used to get on my WPIX (WB) affiliate early Sunday mornings. Even though I've seen every episode multiple times I still sit through it whenever it might be on. I've probably seen all of the original SBTB's at least 5 times and actually sat through the brutal college years, but I thought every season of the New Class sucked ass. The Tori eps were almost as bad as the college years. City Guys and Hang Time were fine, but I have absolutely no recollection of USA High. One World was just a stupid concept. I feel bad for the kids/tweens these days who don't have any kind of "classic" shows they can talk about with their peers a decade from now.
Richard 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2006 I also got most of my Hang Time from ABC Family, but I don't think they ran season 1 at all, with Earl the hick and Chris Atwater. Peter Engel actually had nothing to do with the first season. When he took over for season 2, he changed everything from cast members, to the theme song, to the uniforms (originally light blue and orange). The show's writing became SBTB-ized. I guess tptb decided season 1 would be too wierd for kids watching the show for the first time. Anyone else remember Running the Halls, the show about a boarding school? Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2006 I loved USA High. For the guy who asked, yes, Jackson and Lauren did get together after the elevator episode and were on and off pretty much the until the end of the series. There was even an episode where they were broken up and Jackson hooked up with Lauren's sister, Maggie. And Winnie and Christian stayed together for the entire series which shocked me and It made me feel good when Mr. Elliot and Ms. Dupree finally hooked up. And Peter Engel made another show that hasn't been mentioned. It was called "Malibu Beach" or something like that. It was about a set of twin brother who help their father or something run a resturant. Winnie from USA High was a cast member.

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2006 Holy shit...someone besides me and Slayer remember that show? I actually still have all the eps on tape. Loved that show as a kid. I remember Running The Halls. One of the kids in that was in some kids movie my little cousin has called "The Skateboard Kid", where Dom DeLuise loans his voice to a talking skateboard. I remember one ep where they broke a statue or something, and they always had that R.A. guy Mark "The Shark" Stark on their case. The guy who played him pops up in various commercials from time to time. I also remember Malibu Beach, but I never got into it. I never really looked at that as part of the TNBC family, since it was never hyped or anything...just kinda got put "there". I know various TNBC stars would pop up in guest roles. Here is the Swan's Crossing opening, complete with the infamous Swan's Crossing dance. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2cWxMOcPOtA ...and here is the California Dreams "music video" from the first ep. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mp823uNEi6o
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2006 I always liked how their performance in the first California Dreams episode transformed into a music video. It made me laugh.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2006 I've probably seen all of the original SBTB's at least 5 times and actually sat through the brutal college years, but I thought every season of the New Class sucked ass. The Tori eps were almost as bad as the college years. I actually liked some of the College Years episodes. The show could not be as edgy as college really is though. I liked that they pretty much implied that Kelly was sleeping with her professor.
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2006 Don't know if this is a joke or not but, on Adult Swim they just showed a clip of SBTB and then it said it would be coming to AS on April 17th. Is this true or what?
daileyxplanet 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2006 When I was younger (I'm a true blue syndication fan, I was too young during their original runs.) the Torri episodes confused me because there was no mention of the missing girls. The summer episodes were worse though. How dare Zack ignore Kelly for that Yank Stacey Carosi? Made me mad. Also, I marked the 'F out when Lisa and Zack made out. Stupid Screech ruined the hottness by being whiny. College Years: Alex Tabor was irresistably cute. Leslie Burke, however was the bland blonde with little substance. Big Mike, he was a good alternative to the Belding character. Good Morning Miss Bliss: I almost wish they didn't syndicate these 13 (?) episodes, they contradict SBTB like crazy. I did like having a show based in my state, however. What was worse was Zack's introductions, acting like his parents were divorced and everything. What a shame. City Guys, my most memorable moment would be the clip on Rise and Fall of ECW where some guy has a "City Guys Rocks!" sign.
Guest InuYasha Report post Posted April 10, 2006 My favorite Torrie episode was the drunk driving episode, because it was actually only maybe a few episodes in the entire library that dealt with a more serious teen issue. Plus watching the gang sing "Wild Thing" in the car while drunk was enough in itself to make it a great episode. There was also the "Don't smoke doobies" episode with that famous music/movie artist. Also, I must admit, that beyond the original SBTB, and the College Years episodes, I have no idea what the heck you all are talking about, other than they were SBTB carbon copies. Is this true or what? This is one of the reasons I love Adult Swim: They fuck with their fans. It cracks me up to see these teenage and basement dwelling guys losing it over shit like the April Fools joke, which was awesome. Plus, it pissed off Anime fanboys, and that's great in my eyes (I don't have a probem with Anime, I just have a problem with those who like it way too much. Hell, there's Anime titles I do enjoy.). iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2006 They aired Chuck Norris's Karate Kommandos instead of the usual lineup. Shit, that was an April Fool's day joke? They put it on at the casino, and it was so funny that we were all talking about how we'd have to remember to watch it every Saturday morning.
