Guest glennsoe Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Some WWE news items... - Most expect Paul Heyman to be back on Smackdown sooner than later. Most believe he will return as a manager. Of course, with the way Smackdown ratings have dropped and Kurt Angle's lack of success thus far in the GM role, it wouldn't surprise anyone if WWE created a storyline to get him back in the GM role. - Sable is scheduled to return to TV soon, possibly as early as next week. - This past weeks RAW brand talent meeting featured Vince McMahon introducing Johnny Ace as the new Vice President of Talent Relations while Jim Ross also gave a speech on his promotion. A tape of the first Triple H vs. Shelton Benjamin match was also shown to the wrestlers and analyzed. WWE management pointed out only positive things Triple H did. Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted April 10, 2004 WWE management pointed out only positive things Triple H did. For fucks sake, maybe WWE should just refer to him as god. That match was great, but to just emphasise what he did right and ignore what he did wrong is complete bullshit. I guess it's true, HHH can do no wrong. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 10, 2004 - Kurt Angle as SmackDown!'s General Manager isn't at all panning out so far. I just hope that when Paul Heyman returns, things don't stay the same. But what will Kurt do while he's injured? - Great. Sable's return. What exactly will WWE do with her? - Why exactly was Jim Ross removed from his position? And yes, for fuck's sake, the Shelton Benjamin/Triple H wasn't all Triple H - ironically, it was more Benjamin. There's nothing we can do here (or anywhere) - and I cannot say anything about Triple H's backstage pull that hasn't been said before.
Silence 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 - Great. Sable's return. What exactly will WWE do with her? Put her in numerous Diva contests against Miss Jackie every week and have Jackie win every one of them so she can become the new Whorrie. That'll obviously make Smackdown a lot worse than it already is. Wait a minute, aren't the FCC targeting WWE? That's right. The logical thing to do would be for WWE to release Sable again, although WWE might do something stupid like make her the GM's "personal assistant" or something. Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted April 10, 2004 But what will Kurt do while he's injured? Maybe Kurt could make a good manager/mentor type character, it's been mentioned a lot as of late that Charlie Haas was Kurt's former protege, so maybe they could do a storyline where Haas is Kurt's apprentice. That way, Kurt would still get face time on TV, Haas would benefit from being associated with Kurt and Haas' biggest weakness, his average promo skills wouldn't be such an issue if Kurt was talking for him. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 10, 2004 With the relationship between Kurt Angle and Charlie Haas lately, it wouldn't surprise me if Kurt became a managing figure to Haas again. It would definitely give Charlie some much-needed heat. Kurt on the mic is great, but Haas needs to develop some skills himself - something that would've happened to Brock Lesnar had he not had Heyman speak for him for the entire time that he managed him, so that when Brock needed to do mic work, he didn't come off terrible.
Guest DeathBecomesYou Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Really, Haas isn't that bad on the mic, I remember he cut a pretty good promo on an episode of Smackdown last year when he vowed to get revenge on Eddie after Eddie had injured Shelton Benjamin in a tag match. The main thing I think Haas would get from an association with Kurt, is an identity. Being Kurt Angle's apprentice, while probably not the greatest gimmick ever, would not only play off the past of both guys, but would help to make him stand out from all the other vanilla muscle guys on Smackdown. On a similar path, putting Jindrak with Teddy Long, makes Jindrak interesting to me (never thought i'd ever say that).

Funny how they expect SD to have huge ratings with the way its been booked as of late and Angle gets the blame. Amazing... If Jackie is given a SmackDown! spot and Rico isn't, I'm going to be pissed. Right Deon? Right.

Lord knows the problem with Smackdown lately has been the GM. - Sable is scheduled to return to TV soon, possibly as early as next week. "To TV" or "To Smackdown?" Hell, keep her on Smackdown--it isn't as if it is even watchable these days anyway.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Where would Sable go if she wasn't going to be on SmackDown! I'm not including Velocity. And there's no need to make SmackDown! worse.
Chazz 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Fuck blaming Angle as Smackdown! GM, what about blaming Creative? Oh, that's right, I forgot. Steph Is still Head Of The Writing Crew. My Bad.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I'd much rather Heyman on the writing team and Stephanie as the GM - basically a role-switch.

haVoc 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 And yes, for fuck's sake, the Shelton Benjamin/Triple H wasn't all Triple H - ironically, it was more Benjamin. It wasn't all Triple H, but it was mostly him. You could hear him call 3/4 of the match. Shelton is like an early Kurt Angle at the moment. He's the guy who can be carried to really good matches and will be a leader in the ring very soon.

Shelton worked really well in that match, but of course Triple H is going to call most of the match, because it's Triple H, and Shelton is the rookie. Yes, like Kurt Angle, Shelton will have to adapt as a singles competitor to professional style. Of course, his amateur abilities will help in improving his professional abilities, again like Kurt Angle.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Can they just ditch the evil GM stuff. It was pretty stale in 2000. I don't see why they constantly need a GM and why said GM always has to be a heel.

On the same note, they need to get rid of face authority figures that are on TV almost every week, too (Mick Foley in 2000 as the Commissioner, Stone Cold as the "Sheriff" this year and GM last year, Stephanie McMahon as Smackdown face GM, etc.). However, this is "sportz-entertainment", so don't expect WWE to do that anytime soon.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 10, 2004 am I the only one who thinks Heyman should return and re-create the DANGEROUS ALLIANCE. Seriously, Bring him two weeks after J.D and on Smackdown Main Event...Have a Tag Team Match Eddy Guerrero and RVD Vs Charlie Haas and The Big Show... After a few minutes...RVD turns on Guerrero and it's revealed that Haas, Show and RVD are the members of the NEW DANGEROUS ALLIANCE...They can add a 4th member shortly after that, Make it A CW worker so they can put Rey in there...So turn Paul London..Why not Knoble or Chavo? Because they are already over heel CWs...while London is doing nothing. THE NEW DANGEROUS ALLIANCE Rob Van Dam The Big Show Charlie Haas Paul London and I'd set up a Stinger's Squadron(Eddy's Poisse?) type alliance with Eddy, Cena, Rey and ??? and run a RVD/Eddy summer program, Give us Cena/Haas, Mysterio/London and TBS can just mainly be Paul's Enforcer again. This way Angle isn't the MAIN focus of the show and he can be more fair and balanced...allowing him creative freedom to do serious and comedy acts. What Happens to Bradshaw? After jobbing at J.D...He moves on to get Squashed by Taker and goes back to Velocity where he belongs. The only person that gets left out that NEEDS to do something is BOOKER T. I wouldn't re-turn him back to a face but I don't think he'd fit in with The Alliance mainly because his current act appears as if he doesn't want to be on Smackdown and hates everyone...basically playing a Bitter Vet. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I really like Choken One's Dangerous Alliance booking. I wouldn't necessarily bring in a forth face to immediately feud with one of Heyman's guy. Leavng it open would allow them to bring over someone from Raw or someone new and quickly elevating them to SD ME level. My markish side would lean towards Sting.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I'll admit, the Dangerous Alliance would make for entertaining television, thus spiking ratings. Shelton Benjamin = the face to take on them all, before heading back to Raw. He came, he saw, he conquered. He left.
