So, Saints take Devery Henderson. And it seems like they took him just to spite the Ravens, who end up taking a DT.

I'm not sure about this move. The Saints already have Joe Horn/Donte Stalworth/Jerome Pathon. They're ok at WR.

Joe Horn's got a talent for pissing people off, including the league itself, and Stallworth's injury-prone. The Aints needed a fourth receiver just to ensure that they had two on the field at any one time.

Most predictions had them picking up Michael Clayton if he was available, but the Bucs picked him up and the Aints need defense badly.

You KNOW that the league has turned topsy turvy when the Aints have no defense and 21 points for them is referred to as 3 TDs and not 7 FGs.

Alright. I've calmed down on the Lee Evans pick. A speed reciever makes Moulds better and puts Josh Reed back in the slot where he belongs and is far better suited for. He's actually the kind of player I wanted going into the draft...but all those DLineman sitting there made be change my mind.

Lee Evans is welcome on my team.

J.P. Losman can go to hell.

It could be worse. I got a CB that was projected as a 4th rounder in the first round, a DT with an attitude problem, and a punter.

dear god, Poole really didn't get drafted. Did he get shot or something?

Posted
They said several teams had taken him completely off of their board because of his character.

I don't know how bad it could be...but it's obviously costing him dearly.

Poole was suspended from the Boston College team his freshman season due to character issues but I was not aware of any kind of recent issues. Then again, guys have been known to drop far because of any kind of character issue.

I was happy when I read who my fav team(the Lions) ended up getting in the draft. All I wanted was for them to get Kevin Jones. I felt the 6th pick was a bit high for the guy, but I just felt he was the guy I wanted to see be the running back for the Lions. It was their biggest need, and I thought he was the guy who'd best be able to fill it.

It felt great to wake up and discover that they got Jones AND Roy Williams in the first round. To top it all off, all they lost in the whole deal was basically a 4th round pick this year and a 5th next year. That's just awesome.

I'm split on the Jags draft right now. I think taking Reggie Williams at 9 was a reach, most drafts I saw had him going mid-1st at earliest. I was hoping they would trade up to get Roy Williams, or draft Smith/Udeze and get a pass rush to go along with Stroud/Henderson clogging the middle. Byron gets another target now, with Williams joining Jimmy Smith and Kevin Johnson in the WR corps.

Like the Daryl Smith pick, filled a need position at linebacker. He started all four years at Georgia Tech, and he'll probably get a chance to start immediately for the Jags.

Trading up for Jones...why? I think this is the Jaguars not only getting more RB insurance for when Fred Taylor missing his annual two to four games, but also preparing in case Taylor leaves...I cannot remember if they have locked Taylor up but I believe Taylor's contract is almost up and Jones might be insurance for next year.

EDIT: Forgot Cordova, the fourth pick. I know this guy was a monster in WAC play, he was an end in college but I think he will be a linebacker in the pros, either way this will go a little way toward generating a pass rush.

Hmm.......all of my boys went to crappy teams. Well I guess the Jets aren't that bad, and Strait's a great corner.

Hmm.......Renaldo Works still hasn't gone. Can't say I care much......I don't think he's good at all and I won't shed any tears for him.

Sams is a tall, quick receiver and Cobb is a big bruiser back. To get both of these guys, and late in the rounds no less is a shock.

Cobb at 128 isn't a shock but to see Sams at 164 is a stunner and I'm glad the Pats jumped on him. He'll need some weight but that was really his only problem and the Pats will work that into him easily.

Now I see why they didn't touch Jackson in round 1.

I really hope the Bears draft Jarrett Payton, he's a good back just never got the chance at Miami. Plus it would be awesome to see the name PAYTON on the back of a Bears jersey.

Jacksonville will be fine, and by the way.....they traded Kevin Johnson to the Ravens for the 4th round pick that they used on Ernest Wilford.

Only second day pick of the Pats I'm content with is P.K. Smith. They should have taken Nat Dorsey with their first pick of the 4th round.

P.K. is a good player, he'll step it up for the Pats if he gets a chance.

Nobody has drafted Brock Lesnar yet. I'm hoping the Pats take him in the 7th round so he can F-5 Drew Bledsoe and put the Brock Lock on Chad Pennington

But it should be "J. Payton"

That's cool. I still think it would be awesome to see him run out in that jersey, it would be a great moment.

Plus it's not like he's not talented. Payton has lots of ability and was a very capable back. He'd at least be a good third down back, maybe special teams player.

Well Jacksonville drafted, as expected by all the local papers, my alma mater's lone represenative, Chris Thompson.

For those of you that don't know him (probably most if not all) he was considered one of the, if not THE best cornerback in I-AA.

He's also a really nice guy.

I just hope he can do something notable for himself in the NFL because he really deserves it, like most of these guys.

From what I know, if he was at a big school, and rated higher, I doubt he'd be making a fuss over what team drafted him

I also find it a bit amusing that Matt Mauck got drafted a lot later than him, something I can hold over this guy at work :)
