KingPK 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Patriots: Law fights the law and the law wins by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Monday, April 19, 2004 News Patriots' cornerback Ty Law was arrested Saturday morning in Miami and charged with two misdemeanors. The 30 year-old defensive back was charged with failure to obey a police officer and resisting an officer, according to an ESPN.com report. Law was initially pulled over in his 2004 Rolls-Royce for a lane violation. He initially pulled over to the side of the road, but then allegedly sped off, forcing police to chase him until he stopped about a half-block later. The police report accuses Law of getting out of his car and taking off on foot, only to be caught by a pair of police officers. Miami police officials quote Law as telling the officers "not to touch him because his a professional athlete." Police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said told the media: "(Law) didn't want to go to jail and he didn't want the police to tell him what to do. And that was the problem. He decided that he's above the law and he's not and that's why he was arrested." Law was released a short time later on $1,500 bond. Views Has Law lost a step in the offseason? How else can one explain two ordinary police officers catching the speedy cornerback in a foot chase? Nothing against the boys in blue, but this is a Pro Bowl cornerback we're talking about. It's also worth noting that Law said last month that he does not want to play for the Patriots any longer because of a contract dispute. Perhaps Patriots' coach Bill Belichick should hook up with Packers' coach Mike Sherman, who has his own problems with disgruntled cornerback Mike McKenzie. Ok, I am getting a little tired of Law's ego. He's been nothing but a prick the whole offseason so far and I would not blame the Pats for trading him before this weekend is out. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Possibly the most moronic man in the NFL? Good grief, what was he thinking?

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Between this and his statement about not being greedy but a man has to eat when it came down to a $9mill signing bonus...buh-bye Ty. You and Milloy were long time favorites of mine but you lost my respect with the crap you've both pulled. If they traded him for McKenzie I'd also expect a 3rd or 4th round pick from the Packers. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 The most disturbing part of this is that two cops caught him on foot. Get in shape, hippie.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Oh, yeah, those "overzealous police" officers for trying to pull over a guy for a lane violation. Regardless if he was racially profiled or not, if he didn't act like an obnoxious prick he'd have gotten off without a problem. Methinks he had to hide his extacy before getting handcuffed. As Stephen Wright might ask, what's a gruntled person? Possibly the most moronic man in the NFL? Good grief, what was he thinking? Possibly, but there are so many stupid athletes that you can only say that he's the dumbest athlete so far this year...

Aaron Boone is in the running but a distant third. Ty may have jumped into second here but it will get him what he wants, out of New England.

The guy might as well go to the Raiders, who seem to be amassing Cornerbacks for no apparent reason. They have Woodson, Philip Buchanan, Ray Buchanan, and Denard Walker. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 It doesn't say they ran after him. It says they caught him, that can mean that the car just pulled in front of him and blocked his way. Because if he got caught on foot then that is just sad.

Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Doesn't Ty watch Playmakers? Just offer the cop some free tickets, a signed jersey and you're good to go. And by the way, the guy on Playmakers got pulled over and played the "Do you know who I am?" card, but he did NOT try to escape. What Ty did was a bit worse. But that show's not realistic at ALL, nope.
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 With the Pats getting Corey Dillon today...you draft Matt Ware, get rid of Law, play Ware at corner or safety, and put Wilson in the other spot. Simple solution for an idiotic problem. Law needs the Pats more than the Pats need Law.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 20, 2004 I think Chris Gamble will be better than Matt Ware. Put Gamble at Safety and Wilson over at CB.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 yeah Ty Law is known for his love of E. The weirdest thing about Law is that he doesnt say that he went to Michigan, because Lloyd Carr told him not to leave a year early because it would hurt his draft position. Law went anyway since his grandfather or someone was bankrupt

Cartman 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 He obviously did this to further add to his case to be released by the Patriots. Lame.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 20, 2004 If he isn't released, Dillion and Ty will have a GREAT bond, I bet.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Law won't be released since he's not a real big cap threat for a CB of his quality. However he will be traded and I've said all off-season he goes to San Fran who has cut payroll tremendously and needs a defensive playmaker.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 20, 2004 why can't we assume cops aren't also athletic enough to catch Law? Not ALL cops are overweight Donutstuffed fuckups. .... Yeah get in fucking shape Law. That's more embarasing.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Pats should keep Law, but barely ever play him. Make him a special teams only guy, or a nickel-back at best. The guy's ego is out of control, so what better way to bust his balls than to leave him sitting on the bench while the team wins without him?

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 20, 2004 No I'm not. Ty Law while a prick and obviously very hungry man(since he needs $9mill for groceries) is far and away better than McKenzie. Ty Law is in the top 3 for CB right now, McKenzie is probably in the top 15-20.
