chaosrage Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 How deep. It is indeed very homosexual that they made those edits. Yep it was. That sums it up pretty well. Why the rolleyes smiley?
Downhome Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Ugh. They should put the PPVs on DVD EXACTLY as they happened live (except for stuff like power failures, etc...).
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Ugh. They should put the PPVs on DVD EXACTLY as they happened live (except for stuff like power failures, etc...). Yeah, unless there is something such as that that threatens the show, just fucking leave it! And, I didn't get to see it on Pay-Per-View live, but was Kurt Angle VS Chris Benoit from the Royal Rumble '03 full of canned heat, or was it just me?
Jobber of the Week Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 And, I didn't get to see it on Pay-Per-View live, but was Kurt Angle VS Chris Benoit from the Royal Rumble '03 full of canned heat, or was it just me? Couldn't be, the crowd loved that match, by everything I heard, and gave Benoit a legit standing ovation.

Some of the (big) pops in that match on the DVD just sound so fake.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Like when? Nik Submission finishers and counters into them and/or from them were mainly it.
iliketurtles Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 This is the reason I didn't get WM 18 (edited face reaction to Rock) WM 18 DVD is not edited. I've compared it to the original PPV broadcast and it's as loud on the DVD as it is on the VHS. Every "Rocky Sucks" chant is still in tact, and they even left in "We Want Bret!" chant when Rock put on the Sharpshooter. I recently recorded over my copy of the PPV broadcast because it wasn't worth keeping considering Rock/Hogan is the exact same thing on DVD. But that frustrates me about Goldberg/Lesnar. Considering EVERYONE who saw the PPV knows about what happened with the reaction, what's the point of editing it? Too little, too late...
Bruiser Chong Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Gay. That's the reason I wanted the DVD's. Fuck WWE. How deep. It is indeed very homosexual that they made those edits. "Gay" can be used as a verb. And don't give me that "On the internet you are supposed to spell it G-H-E-Y!" crap. Please. There are plenty of other verbs that can be used to convey your displeasure with it. How old are ya, bud?
iliketurtles Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 And, I didn't get to see it on Pay-Per-View live, but was Kurt Angle VS Chris Benoit from the Royal Rumble '03 full of canned heat, or was it just me? Not at all. I was in the audience that night and I also saw the PPV broadcast recorded...we got WAY into that match the second half once it built up. Sure, we were into it the first half, but not insane because it had to be built up and boy, did Angle/Benoit ever do that. The only edits WWE does is when they edit out techincal errors, sponsorship ads, other ads, botches, etc. I really haven't seen a DVD that has been edited with crowd reaction. Yet.
spman Posted April 24, 2004 Author Report Posted April 24, 2004 Here are some sound bites from Lesnar vs Goldberg http://www.angelfire.com/games2/nesfight/WWE1.wav - Lesnars Entrance http://www.angelfire.com/games2/nesfight/WWE2.wav - Goldbergs entrance http://www.angelfire.com/games2/nesfight/WWE2.wav - Right after the bell rings when the two are staning in the ring. Note that you can hear an abreviated You sold out chant and a faint version fo the Godbye song, but everything else is clearly distorted.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Did they edit out Goldberg briefly flipping off the crowd after the match?

That "Hey Hey Goodbye" chant sounded pretty loud in the third clip. What's with the hocking and spitting in the second clip? Did they have Goldberg's sinus passages miked or something? I'm still gonna buy it. I'm more interested in the matches than the crowd noise.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Zsasz is right. Damn public schools.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Hey Bruiser, what do you think of RoboCop 3? "Gay" is supposed to be spelt "ghey" on the internet? Since when? And I didn't think that anyone but a grammatically incorrect teenager would use the term "gay" when describing something that he or she has a distaste for. And they don't often use the Internet, let alone post on forums, let alone a (the) smart mark forum. And HartFan86, it just sounded as if the crowd went from rather quite to popping Angle and Benoit out of the building in less than half a second.

The third clip doesn't sound too different from what I remember I don't remember the entrance reactions though Also, it was Brock who gave the crowd the double bird after the match, and I'm curious too if that was removed

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Ultimo's slip has been edited out. I'm never watching wrestling again.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 I've said it before (well, a variation of it), and I'll say it again: Ultimo's slip is the reason for the WWE cruiserweight division being fucked up the ass! That or Vince wanted to go out with a "bang" (pop).
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 I've said it before (well, a variation of it), and I'll say it again: Ultimo's slip is the reason for the WWE cruiserweight division being fucked up the ass! AlaskanHero Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 If I were Ultimo, I'd be glad the slip was editted out. He might not ever look at the DVD, but if he does, then he'd probably be happier not having to remember when he almost fell down and embaressed himself in front of all those people.

That or Vince wanted to go out with a "bang" (pop). What the hell does that even mean? If you're referring to the last line, then I'm referring to the Cruiserweight Open. And David, don't forget that he slipped twice.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Hey Bruiser, what do you think of RoboCop 3? I think it was a travesty to the already fragile franchise that hadn't yet recovered from the unnecessary sequel. The first one was brilliant and a true modern classic. The sequel was okay, but as I said, completely unncessary. Its sole purpose was to milk more money out of the consumer. Of course, in comparison to the third installment, RoboCop 2 is freaking masterpiece. What a horrible movie. "Gay" is supposed to be spelt "ghey" on the internet? Since when? There's no written rule for it, but the latter version of spelling became the way to say something was stupid, instead of the actual spelling of the word, which would imply something homosexual. Of couse, the whole thing is pretty stupid, but that doesn't take away from the fact that using the term "gay" is an asinine way to describe something you don't like, whether it's meant in context to the true meaning or not. I'm sure he didn't mean that this was actually gay, but as I said, there are plenty of other descriptive words that can be used to convey displeasure over something. Ultimo's slip has been edited out. I'm never watching wrestling again. While you can see their logic in not wanting a clip of a guy who's made his living on being a graceful presence in the squared-circle look like he can't even walk to the ring without stumbling, it's these sorts of edits that bother me with their DVDs. Just let things be. No one's perfect and to fool around with things like the crowd noise, flubs, and other things they view as imperfections, is ridiculous. But then again, they've always had a thing for trying to enforce their own perception of reality.
AlaskanHero Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Ow, he slipped twice. Well, like I said, at least his slips were editted out. That saves him a little dignity. Not a lot, but some.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Bruiser Chong is my new favourite poster.
iliketurtles Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Brock's entrance sounds the same. An abbreviated You Souled Out chant? They even leave Lawler mentioning it. A faint "Nah Nah Nah Hey Hey Goodbye" chant? They didn't touch that either. I want to hear if they left the "This Match Sucks", "We Want Bret", "Hogan", etc. chants. If they didn't touch those, then they didn't touch anything. And again, what's the point of editing it out on DVD? The entire audience already will remember that match as being a total disaster and the crowd not going a shit.
iliketurtles Posted April 24, 2004 Report Posted April 24, 2004 Just noticed this, but LOL @ Goldberg yelling 'FUCK THESE STUPID PEOPLE' @ Brock during the "Na Na Na" chants.
