The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 So this is what, summer #6 of Kyle Farnsworth on the cusp of being good? He blows everything. He's terrible. I wish he'd get traded but there's nowhere to unload him to

Bored 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 That little piece of shit Frank Menechino was in the starting line-up today for the A's and I have no idea why. He is now 3 for 26, with just one walk, and a .294 OPS. The A's are now 1-7 when he starts. They are 11-6 when he has been on the DL or on the bench. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! He's a curse!!!! Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2004 Farnsworth is never going to be the pitcher everyone's been waiting for him to become since he broke into the big leagues. It's a shame because he seemingly only needs to work the kinks out of his mechanics and he could be a reliable guy out of the pen. You can only wait so long for someone to come around, though. He's nearing 30 and he's no longer a young man fresh into the league. It's not going to happen and the Cubs need to just unload him, even if they get little in return. He's doing more damage than good. He can be effective when there's no pressure, but he absolutely crumbles when put into a tight spot.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 That Phillies game was great, ending was a little anti-climatic, but we all wanted to go home by that point. A quick survey of nearby fans shows that Bowa is having less and less support among the fans. Most admit to having been defenders, but he is costing too much at this point. And I want Madson in the rotation now. Trade Myers for a third baseman.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 And I want Madson in the rotation now. Trade Myers for a third baseman. First off, no need to trade for a third baseman. Just move Polanco to third and play Utley. Bell is probably untradeable, but he'd be decent in a bench role as a backup 2B/3B. Second, don't trade Myers. He's young, good, and cheap. Trade Vicente Padilla instead. His peripherals aren't outstanding, and he's overrated by the rest of baseball. Trade him now while his value is high.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2004 *Contemplates creating a "What in the f'ing hell is wrong with the Red Sox?" thread* Well, let's see here. They're missing arguably their biggest superstar, as well as Trot Nixon. The offense can't get it together for some reason, although I think you could suggest that Damon's poor hitting certainly isn't helping matters. Then you've got your best pitcher playing the "I want more money" game at a horrible time. Manny has really been bothering me lately, as his refusal to show any sort of hustle on the offense is almost sickening. Him standing there like a jackass when he thinks he's hit a homer, pop up or foul ball, has to stop.

I really wish he would have been included when T. Long was dealt with. T. Long was the same beast, but a tad bit better at the plate. Frankie is basically worthless. His fielding is solid, but so is probably every other infielder on the bench. Is it bad that everytime this guys comes up to the plate, I have to change the channel? Yes it is THAT bad. I'm not going to ream them out for a few bad games (in which they didn't get blown out or anything, and they had a shot on Sunday), but it's really apparent that, while their offense has been good without them, it's a whole different ballgame with Nixon and Nomar in there. Yeah, Pokey Reese and Mark Bellhorn are real good defensively, but they SUCK at the bat (although Bellhorn is behind Bonds right now in walks, so at least he has that going for him; Reese just can't hit.)
