$3 DVDs

Recommended Posts

http://www.threedollardvd.com/show.category.php?id=16

Check it out, my buddy of mine came across this site and ordered like 20 DVDs for like $60. He got them like 1-2 days after he made the order. They're even selling all 20 James Bond films for the same price.

it's about 20 some dollars for shipping.

I looked at Simpsons seasons 1+2, which was going for 24 dollars.

The shipping was about 21 bucks, and there's a 5% surcharge for using a credit card.

No thanks. FreeDVDforme.com

Money Back Guarantee

Everything that I sell comes with a ten day no questions asked money back guarantee. In the event that you receive a defective disk then officially you have 30 days to let me know about the problem. In practise so long as you dont let half a year go by without letting me know I usually waive the 30 day deadline for defective disks. If you decide to cancel your order before it has shipped then I only refund 90% of the purchase price. If I cannot ship your order within one week from the time of purchase then you would be entitled to a 100% refund.

Shipping

ship your DVD’s via air express from China. Delivery usually takes about three days. I only charge you my actual shipping costs, but air express shipping from China is expensive. The shipping company charges me in .5kg increments so in order to save money I suggest that you try to order your DVD’s such that their weights end with .49 or .99.

Chinese Covers

Almost all of my disks have a small amount of Chinese on their covers. The English movie names and descriptions are all there though and they are usually much larger than the Chinese writing.

No Cases

In order to save weight I ship the DVD's in clear plastic envelopes along with their front and back covers. The reason that I do not provide the hard plastic cases is that they cost me about a dollar each to ship. If you really want cases though I can provide them for an extra $1.50 each. I noticed that Ebay user kokonuts! sells DVD cases for $.20 each. You can also buy them in bulk at many video rental stores for about $.10 provided that you negotiate a good deal for yourself.

Subtitles

There are no subtitles on any of my movies unless you turn them on.

Regional Coding

I stock disks from all regions. I ship disks to match the region of the purchaser. I guarantee that the disks that you receive will play in your player. If you dont know what regional coding is then please dont worry about it.

Widescreen

More than 99% of my movies are in anamorphic widescreen. If you dont know what this is then please dont worry about it. You will be very happy with the video quality.

Dolby Sound

More than 99% of my movies have Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. My movies do not have DTS sound unless it says so in their description.

I'll pass.

Blockbuster Video had a sale this weekend - Big name new release DVDs such as Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World were going from $24.95, films such as Point Break from $9.95 and ones like Four Weddings and a Funeral from $4.95.

There were also ex-rentals there for sale, but I wouldn't touch them.

Anything from China, Asia, Singapore or places like that are almost always fishy. I knew there was some horrible catch and Rob just C&Ped it. I'll stick to paying a little more for legit DVDs.

Amen, especially ex-rentals from Blockbuster. If you don't mind getting DVDs with stickers on them, getting no insert, or not getting the original box (which are pitched in favor of Blockbuster's own cases), then I guess they're okay. But personally, all of those things bug the hell out of me.

Yeah, none of the video store material on the disc OR the case.

And with Blockbuster's popularity, there are a lot of customers, and with their care, or lack thereof, of the discs combined with the people that work there, NO. FUCKING. WAY.

Anyone who is foolish enough to think that these are actual released DVDs, deserve to get burned.

Seriously.

The site even says that special features are not included on the DVDs "to conserve disc space". I do love this site though. No, not because I'd ever buy any of these things, but instead because their forum is great. Just go check it out, it's some of the best stuff on a message board. So many people pissed, it's just great.

They even have threads in the forum on how to sell bootlegs without getting caught, it's just funny. People threaten them after buying these shit things and realizing that they are boots (like I said, the deserved to get burned for being stupid enough to buy them), saying they'll call the BBB and all sorts of stuff. That isn't even possible to do to someone in Asia is it?

If you want DVDs from that region, the best thing to do is to just use an online retailer that is known for dealing only with the real things. I was reading an article the other day and it mentioned the percentage of DVDs in Asia that are actually boots, and the number was insanely high. I wish I could remember the exact number and details of that article.

This is why I no longer buy used DVDs at BB. I'm ok with stickers being on the discs and case, as Goo Gone takes care of that in no time. I just can't stand not having the original case and inserts.

I hate seeing the guys at BB taking trashbags and trashbags of orignal cases/inserts and tossing them in the dump out behind the store. I'm tempted to ask them to just let me have all of them. :D

That wouldn't be a first, as many people do this and some have even been known to dig them out of the dumpsters. Dumpster-diving may be a last resort for many DVD aficionados, but there are several that are willing to actually do it.

I'd do it. But I'd ask them first, and if they said no, then I'd do it.

A downer to that would be me being registered at their store, and them keeping a lookout.

And if they work at a video store, wouldn't they want them?

Okay, after poking around the forums, I can say this site is god damn trash. The owner is so crooked it's sickening. I think anyone who supports this joker is a freaking moron.

Did he actually get them yet?

Yup and they play just fine on his DVD Player, picture's as great when compared to a "legit DVD".

Mr. Modes, maybe we can do business.

The only place I would buy used DVD's is the Hollywood Video that's 2 for $20. They don't have the inserts or original packaging, but they do have the original cover. I guess I'm not too picky though

The ex-rentals in all the Blockbusters near me take out the DVD, inserts and cover and put them into the regular ones when they sell them. There are also no stickers on the DVD.

Doubt it, I never trade outside of North America, plus probably VCR's in Australlia are probably different models and tapes wouldn't work.

If it was possible, I'm lately on a kick for old school WCW/NWA. Thank YOU John McAdam, you over priced prick.

They're legit, they just from China. All 20 James Bond movies come in this one big box, its pretty tight.

Mine does too. It has all the inserts and covers and everything, just in a blockbuster case.

But ours is more of a used section intead of previously rented because they do the trade in thing with every new movie.

I built my whole collection from Blockbuster. When you catch a 2 for 20 or a buy one get one free sale...nothing is better.

The only $3 DVD's I see for sale are either really shitty movies like Jaws The Revenge, or something I've never heard of.

It's just the whole PAL/NTSC issue - I purchased Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma from Canada through Playcentric, and while the Region thing obviously doesn't apply, they're NTSC tapes on a PAL player.

Using the V tuning, I managed to get the tapes from jumping around on the screen, and they're fine, apart from a small static line at the bottom and/or top of the screen.

But I respect your policy of not trading outside of North America.

Blockbuster can lick my balls for anything used. They actually were charging $22.99 for USED GREATEST HITS PS2 games (and yes, the cases even had "Greatest Hits" on them). Screw that.

Overstock is good, but if you don't mind going used half.com has great prices on used stuff. I buy/sell there all the time.

Heh, my FYE had Future War for $2.44.

I wouldn't buy DVDs (or videos) from a video store full stop (.)

I'm fine with renting the tapes, and DVDs, even though I'm still hesitant when putting the discs in my player.

99.9% of both video store clerks and customers = evil.

I disagree. The video store I go to has a policy "if it's returned damage, you're charged the full original retail price".

Now, borrowing DVDs from the local library is a horse of a different color. Not ONCE have I borrowed a DVD that didn't have scratches all over the place.
