There wasn't exactly an abundance of great matches in 2003, so most of the ones that were grabbed, but here are some the matches from WWE that I feel didn't get the recognition that they could've, which isn't always a bad thing:

Brock Lesnar and Chris Benoit VS Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas - No Way Out

Brock Lesnar VS The Big Show - Stretcher Match - Judgment Day

Chris Benoit VS Eddy Guerrero - Vengeance

Chris Benoit VS Eddy Guerrero VS Tajiri VS Rhyno - SummerSlam

Kurt Angle VS Brock Lesnar - SummerSlam

John Cena VS Kurt Angle - No Mercy

Team Lesnar VS Team Angle - Survivor Series

Kurt Angle VS The Undertaker - SmackDown!

Chris Benoit VS Matt Hardy - SmackDown!

What do you think?

I remember really liking the Lance Storm & RVD vs. Jericho & Christian match from the Raw where Storm officially turned face. And the first Team Angle vs. Los Guerreros Tag Title match from February was really good, too.

The Benoit vs A Train series from Smackdown was v good in my view

Benoit vs Lesnar on the night when Benoit did double duty- Benoit vs Cena on that night was good aswell

HHH vs RVD on the Raw after Kane was unmasked

Eddie Guerrero vs Taijiri from Smackdown late July/early August

The rematch between WGTT and Filthy Animals 2 Smackdowns after the Vengance ppv

Lesnar vs A Train when A Train was motivated by the fucked up F5 replay

Chris Benoit VS Eddy Guerrero on the Smackdown after Vengance

I'll think of some more later....

Triple H vs. Kane - Raw, Mask vs. Title

Test vs. Val Venis - Heat

Lance Storm vs. Christian - Heat

Spanky & Paul London vs. Johnny Stamboli & Chuck Palumbo - Velocity 11/29/03

Spanky & Paul London vs. Nunzio & Chuck Palumbo - Velocity 12/03

No-one ever mentions Los Guerreros vs Chris Benoit and Billy Kidman, which is a shame because it was a fantastic match, even though we all knew who would do the job in the match.

I think that match happened in December 2002.

Yes, the match putting Kane against Triple H when Kane unmasked was very gripping.

And how I could forget to mention the Benoit/Cena-Benoit/Lesnar matches on SmackDown! ?

*Smacks self in the head*

The same goes for the Intercontinental Championship Ladder match.

The two Eddie/Tajiri vs. Team Angle matches that happened on consecutive Smackdowns following Judgment Day were also very good along with Los Guerreros vs. WGTT on the same Smackdown as the Iron Man match, and a very good Jericho/RVD match from Raw, that ended with Van Dam hitting a split-legged moonsault (don't remember the date).

Jericho vs. Mark Henry on RAW was probably Henry's best match ever. Taker had a pretty hot steak of tv matches with Cena, Show, & A-Train around Vegance last year. Benoit vs. Hardy from the US Title tournament was pretty awesome.

Very, very good match. One of the top 5 Velocity matches of the year. And that's saying something.

You're probably thinking of JD 2000. It was a good match, but it doesn't exactly fit the parameters of the topic.

Eddie and Tajiri vs. Benoit and Rhyno

Eddie vs. Cena (parking lot brawl)
