EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 Triple H Delays Movie Shoot; Wrestlers Happy Austin Is Gone Some backstage WWE news items.... - WWE has decided to push back the movie they are making which will star Triple H in order to keep him on RAW. Shooting has been pushed back a month or two. With all the major departures from WWE, the company feels it is important to keep Triple H on TV right now. - The Triple H vs. Chris Benoit match is still set to be a key part of WWE this summer and should be one of the major matches at Summerslam. - Most wrestlers are happy that Steve Austin is gone from WWE. Nobody liked having to sell for a "retired" wrestler who never really put any of the active guys over. Credit: PWInsider.com
EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 New Japan Upset With WWE Over JR's Comments Plus other New Japan/WWE notes.... Many in New Japan Pro Wrestling are upset with the comments Jim Ross made last week on WWE Byte This. Ross said that Japanese wrestling is currently "sucking pond water." Antonio Inoki was apparently extremely upset and may have told his staff to sign former WWE talents such as Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg as a way of showing the world that New Japan is the world's top wrestling promotion. Some of the heat may also be due to the fact that WWE hasn't shown interest in working with any of the Japanese promotions and have no trouble drawing huge gates for their Japanese events. Meanwhile, WWE is in talks with New Japan about buying out the footage of Chris Benoit's matches for the promotion. WWE wants to use the footage in the upcoming Benoit DVD. DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 I love that logic. You're trying to buy footage from New Japan, while at the same time letting JR complain about "Japanese promotions sucking pond water, BAH GAWD!" Hardly going the right way to smooth negotiations, is it?
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2004 - The Triple H vs. Chris Benoit match is still set to be a key part of WWE this summer and should be one of the major matches at Summerslam. Chris Benoit Title Reign **March 2004 - August 2004** It will probably be a match that can hit ***** so it won't be bad. Plus, HHH seems to be in a good mood lately. Maybe he's found religion and is a changed man.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Ever since all the main eventers have taken off, HHH seems to have changed. I hope it just sorta stays that way for awhile.

Maybe he's found religion and is a changed man. Hunter is his own religion. Triple H has been working his sorry ass of as of late, not to disregard Benoit, Flair, Edge and Batista's weekly efforts, and anything involving him and Benoit for the title at Summerslam will rock six kinds of goodness. Meanwhile, what is there left on the SD! side that even resembles a money match for Summerslam? Booker vs Eddie? Booker is about to be killed by the Undertaker, so money match it ain't. As I sit here, that is the only one match I can think of that would even slightly interest me. How sad. UYI

Eddie vs. a freshly turned heel RVD? They had a pretty good Ladder Match back in the day, I could see them working a pretty good WWE Title Match...
Scroby 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Anyone noticed how Raw= Not a lot of wreslters with gimmicks and sorta returning to the time when Hart held the title during the Attitude era and Smackdown=slowly going back to late 80's early 90's time era. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Eddy/RVD would be good enough match-wise but I can't see them doing anything to build for the show. Eddy isn't good at promo's. RVD is death on the mic. Unless they boil it down to "RVD wants to be the champ" (which they won't) the feud will probably be sub-par. Having said that, it's probably the best thing they can do with Eddy right now, unless they turn Undertaker.

Guest Brian Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I'm not going to say Hunter's not busting his ass off right now, but doesn't he sorta have to? I mean, there's no real stars left going full-time other than him, and he doesn't really have a choice. Either he can squash everyone, keep on going with Shawn, or he can start working towards a future. His future. He needs to be able to come back to something when he goes out to do his movie projects, and Michaels isn't going to be able to hold things down. That's an honest assessment; it doesn't mean that he's not noble or whatever in that respect, but this is something that is almost ABSOLUTELY essential for him. He's really hit that point where he's forced to do this.
AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Like Brian said, if HHH doesn't have anyone but HBK to feud with then his worth is kinda dented. Think about it..... HHH vs. HBK Part 10! By Gawd, they're still really pissed! And doesn't RVD's contract expire in June? So, it could be possible that RVD won't even be around during Summerslam. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 the RVD/Eddy matches were entertaining and good enough to where I don't really care what the storyline is, on a PPV, it would be nice to see it.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 I'd becareful Triple R, you might get the few Austin fans on you. Eddy has been good on the mic so I really don't know what your talking, whomever said that. Did the RVD vs Eddy IC ladder match have any buildup? I don't remember. Eddy has been good on the mic so I really don't know what your talking, whomever said that. Did the RVD vs Eddy IC ladder match have any buildup? I don't remember. Not that I remember. One week, RVD "won" the Undisputed Title, but the decision was overturned. The next, he was facing Eddie in a IC Title Ladder Match. It was a bit random. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 It was. The weird thing is though, Taker and RVD never feuded after that. Very strange indeed.

Eddy has been good on the mic so I really don't know what your talking, whomever said that. Did the RVD vs Eddy IC ladder match have any buildup? I don't remember. Eddie insulted the Edmonton Oilers, and Canada in general, thus pissing off RVD. Dumb inference aside, I couldn't agree more, what can they really do besides Eddie-RVD? I assume Kurt's condition will be upgraded to living for his big showdown with Big Show at Summerslam. I guess it all is speculation since each brand has 2 PPV's before Summerslam. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 That and taking some SD's best talent, HHH acting like a team player, and apparently booking more in advance Yeah, but RAW wasn't as good as it is now before WM. Austin has this habit of dragging the show down with his stale, horrible, character. And I was a big Austin supporter before he started to severely suck. Yeah if they would have added on an extra 20 minutes entitled: "Austin Beats up People", it would have the same effect of Austin's last two months.
