Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The whole show sucked last night. Only thing that was funny was the Debbie Downer skits, and that was funny only because they kept screwing up. I actually could not stop laughing. That was fun. The opening segment with fake Avril and fake Duff was funny as well. But the rest was horrible.
bob_barron Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Anyone else notice during the closing Usher was constantly staring at Lindsay's chest Well it IS Usher. If he was smart he would've just stared at her chest during dress so no one would notice. I'll try to have my review up today- I was up for 40 hrs so I'm a bit tired. I really want to ask someone in the cast which writer was the major perv
chaosrage Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The whole show sucked last night. Are you a guy? You watched the show last night because you thought it would be funny? Seriously?
bob_barron Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 I actually ended up liking the show. Dress was just underwhelming as no skit really stood out (except one) and there were lots of crap. For the first time they actually did a good job in choosing what skits to cut. Usually I come home and find out that my favourite skits got the axe. And chaosrage- after watching Debbie Downer I became a Lindsay Lohan fan

Haha. Yeah, she was hot all night, and was the main reason why I watched (I normally don't, since it's not funny anymore).
NYU Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 The Debbie Downer sketch actually has people talking about SNL for the first time in a while. With that said, there will be 0 Debbie sketches for the rest of the season, and about 5 Versace skits - with more than 1 being crammed onto each remaining show. God, Maya Rudolph sucks.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 And chaosrage- after watching Debbie Downer I became a Lindsay Lohan fan That skit was total bollocks. I'd hate to see Sanz and Fallon act in the early SNL skits in the late 70's - y'know, when they were funny. They always ruin skits by laughing at their own stupid fucking jokes. Its not funny. Its stupid. Laughing and breaking character is the worst thing you can do in improv or live comedy. Its giving in. Totally unprofessional bullshit that most of the others very RARELY ever did until Fallon came along. One every few seasons is understandable, but he does it all of the time.

If they did Debbie Downer again and everyone cracked up again- it wouldn't be funny at all. If they did Debbie Downer again and no one cracked up- everyone would be dissapointed. On Friday Maya was telling people that she had retired Versace after the Barrymore show. But of course these stupid fans asked her to bring it back. Fuckers. I completely agree with you Banky. I hate cracking up too. But sometimes it is justifiable and funny. Debbie Downer was funny all cause of Lindsay.
Vyce Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Everyone should see Mean Girls- Tina Fey's writing is brilliant, Tim Meadows is hilarious and it's just a great very funny movie. It's getting positive reviews for a reason If I ever see this movie, I can assure you, it will most definitely NOT be for the two SNL flunkies in the cast.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Anyone else notice during the closing Usher was constantly staring at Lindsay's chest Holy crap is that funny. I wonder what Usher's hands are doing while in his pockets? And who's the dork flashing the peace sign?...
