Hell...why didn't they put HIM on the booking team, at least he was HONEST. That just cracked me up... One interview that ALWAYS makes me laugh, for reasons the participants would not approve of, is one conducted by Ron and Don Harris, on an episode of Nitro which i still have today... Ronner and Donner are in the ring... But no Flair didn't get Austin fired, Flair was actually grooming Austin to be the next champ. In 94 before Hogan, Flair wanted to eventually drop the title to Austin, who would begin a long heel champ run. Hogan came in, and everyone forgot about Steve.So steve went back to fighting steamboat, who got injured and retired, so they gave steve the us title back. Then Steve had to job in 30 seconds to Jim Duggan of all people. In 95, Steve hurt his arm in a match in Japan. While at home rehabbing, he was fired via FAX. I bet Bischoff wishes he could take THAT back. though we may have never seen the austin we know today, Stunning Steve coulda carried wcw to the top, as they were doing quite well before Hogan ruined it all. btw sorry about the long winded answer Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

There is no way Austin (as Stunning Steve) would have ever gotten past mid card level. As a singles wrestler in WCW I can't recall him ever being over to any degree, even if he did win the TV and US titles. Anyway, in terms of weird Steiner interviews I can't recall quite what it was but once he said something about the world rotating on its axis and weird shit.
