The Ill One

Loudest, most violent metal songs out there...

I saw Origin mentioned up there. Those guys are wild live.

I'll agree with Suffocation being bad as fuck also.

Just out of curiousity, what's your ultimate metal pick?

For Brutal DM?

Probably Hate. They've been around for well over 10 years and still kick ass. The vocals are more death metal than brutal dm, the guitars are fast and brutal, and the drumming is awesome.

Pop in "Awakening of the Liar" and listen to "Anti-God Excremity". Now, that's some damn good brutal death metal. Gotta love Poland, they've got some excellent bands.

Hate's okay. But honestly? I'd call Nile their superior in every manner. EGYPTIAN BRUTAL DEATH...from North Carolina. How much better does it get?!

Also...

Exhumed - "Necromaniac"

(I know one of Shadows Fall's members, either Matthew Bachand or the bassist whose name I always forget, used to be in a band called Exhumed; not sure if they're the same band, but if it is, VAST difference)

Soilent Green - "Last One In The Noose"

Poland? Kiss your credibility goodbye.

Yes, Poland. Hate is from Warsaw.

Also from poland: Vader, Dies Irae, Behemoth, Creation of Death, Decapitated, Damnable, Anal Penetration, Slashing Death, Moon, Imperator, and Sauron.

Poland has excellent metal.

I never got into Nile, and seeing them live didn't help that at all.

Exhumed fucken rules, local boys over here. I forgot to list 'em. They do the best cover of "Material Girl" ever, fucken ever.

edit: also try

Dekapitator - We Will Destroy...You Will Obey!!!

Impaled - The Dead Shall Dead Remain

I was just joking man. This is good though, I needed some new bands to try and I hadn't heard of some of the ones you've named.

I am in love with IDRM for reminding me of Dissection. Storm Of The Light's Bane has been a consistent fave of mine over the last couple months. "Where Dead Angels Lie" ranks up with my favorite metal songs. Gothenburg before it became a trend with just enough blacklunghell to appease the nekro warrior in all of us.

Another choice you would do well to look into is Limbonic Art. They were the first in the school of Candlelight records/Samoth/Myrksgog Death/Black hybrid experiments in the mid 90's. Great stuff.

If anyone gets on soulseek looking for a lot of this stuff, hit up my username on there. "millionflame" without the quotes.

Limbonic Art is really good. I have their last album and it made me quite happy.

I forgot Nasum. Shit.

I also have to recommend Cephalic Carnage again. They throw in synth bass drops occasionally to make it sound just that much heavier. Plus the guitar is completely out of control, and the bass is omnipresent. Vocals are completely unintelligible to the untrained ear, but range from creepy, almost synthetic lilting in "Psuedo" to all manner of screamin' and growlin'.

Have you heard newer Nile or older Nile? If you've heard both and don't like it, then you just don't like Nile, but if you haven't heard In Their Darkened Shrines yet..seriously. Give it another chance. The growls are totally thick and perfect throughout, the language is coarse-sounding enough anyway. I almost want to start cheering the drummer on when he really goes nuts, too. Plus the solos are relentless...I love that friggin' album.

I listened to ItDS today....

The 4 part song at the end just gives me a boner.

I'm just sayin'.

Decided to give Nile another chance, got "Festivals Of Atonement" and "Ramses Bringer Of War". Two old EPs, shit, why don't they sound like this now? haha

I know the song "Ramses Brigner Of War" is on Amongst The Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka, which is their debut LP.

Seriously. Download more songs off of In Their Darkened Shrines. If you haven't heard "Unas, Slayer Of The Gods" yet...DOWNLOAD IT, MOTHERFUCKER! The best pure death metal epic, as far as I'm concerned.
