That's the thing. I don't think it's a big win at all.

 

When Edge beat Kane last month, did anyone even remember it the next night? I did, but that's because I'm a freak and care about wrestling to an unhealthy point. Did the average fan care if Kane lost? No, because it happens with great regularity these days.

 

Benoit will benefit way more from a great match that has the fans going nuts and getting a clean win than defeating a "monster" cleanly.

 

Plus, Kane doesn't even make sense. He hasn't expressed even a slight interest in the belt; he wants to be a girl stealing heartless scumbag who can destroy midcarders at will, and claim that he destroyed their souls. Or something.

 

He's in a serious angle that is being acted so poorly it's nothing but comedy (with Lita, it can't be very good), and now he's supposed to be a title threat? I'm not buying it at all.

 

At least with Jericho, he expressed an interest on the Highlight Reel, is in a serious feud with Christian that has the crowd not rolling their eyes in a "why am I watching this garbage" way (like Kane's current angle), but instead cheering wildly and caring for the participants.

 

But, I still think this is all really stupid and Benoit should face Michaels with a no interference stipulation, since we still don't have a clear winner in that series.

I sure hope that it was a bogus announcement... Kane? In a main event? After the last months..... I think not.

 

Benoit deserves better oponents. Jericho started something yesterday and i would have him facing Benoit. But that's just me.

 

Kane should finish this stupid little feud with Hardy/Lita and they should seriously consider his future roll in RAW. I think that even the marks are pretty fed up with the monster angle...

No one's having a heart attack (I hope) but just the possibility makes me uneasy. AT least with Jericho, you got an opening to a storyline where, for example the feud he's in with Christian would turn into a #1 contender feud.

It would suck in different levels if they went that ally.

 

Benoit doesn't need to be put in the ring with Kane. He needs someone who could give the match a little more spark. That's why the triple threats were so god damn good. He had two charismatic figures with him and adding his abilities - Kaboom!

 

Jericho is the only one that can make this (Possible) match every bit as great as the latest series of matches he had with HBK and HHH.

I do not understand why he would be in the match though, that doesn't make sense at all. Kane is in a totally different feud right now, same for Benoit. I can't remember the last time that the two of them ever had anything to do with one another, and Kane hasn't mentioned the world title in months.

 

Still, Benoit will pick up another win, and it might just be an ok match. I loved most, if not all, of the matches in the Kane/Angle series, and I'm sure Benoit can pull something pretty cool out of Kane also.

The only positive I see is it gets Benoit away from the HBK/HHH ex lovers battle they have going on.

 

But it still makes no sense to place Hardy in a feud with Kane only to have Benoit, who really shouldn't give a crap what Kane is doing, come into the mix.

 

I guess it could be worse, it could be Benoit vs HHH vs HBK AGAIN.

Jericho/Rock had Jericho teasing a heel turn, which he eventually did. Plus that wasn't the main event, Austin/Angle/RVD was. Right now there isn't a definite main event match for Bad Blood. It could be HIAC, which would allow a face/face title match since it's not the headliner, or it can be the main event w/ face vs. heel.

If the title match is not the main event, then we got a problem with the PPV and with the whole thing. The #1 purpose of each wrestler should be the title and not the feud ending match.

Well, ALBERT had a fucking *** match with Kane. If Kane is motivated, and against Benoit I think he will, he can have good matches.

No one said this. Nearly everyone in this folder is loving the Benoit/HBK matches, which is why they wanted it repeated at Bad Blood. Followed by a Benoit/HHH match later on that should be above average as well. I've barely seen any people complaining about Triple H and Shawn Michaels being Benoit's opponents - they may be the top two wrestlers on Raw, both in status and ability.

Again, not really. The biggest complaint of the HIAC match is the fact that we've seen all this before. But pushing that aside, a lot of people - myself included - are looking forward to the match because it's practically guaranteed to be one of the top bouts of the year. Saying that Benoit should have a high-profile match on the card as well, with the Heavyweight Title being the last match on the card, is not nearly the same thing as booing the HIAC match.

As many people have said before, Kane has absolutely no reason to be put in a title match at this point. He's been on somewhat of a losing streak, and is already in his own angle with Matt Hardy and Lita. The Heavyweight Title doesn't fit in there at all. Considering that Jericho has already requested a title shot, has a history with Benoit, is known to have good matches with Benoit, has become a higher-profile wrestler in the past few months......it doesn't make sense to skip over a sensical, high-quality feud with Jericho for a nonsense feud with Kane.

 

The Heavyweight Title match doesn't have to be Face vs. Heel. Some title matches have been Face vs. Face, and many of them have been very good. Austin/Rock at WM XVII, Rock/Jericho at No Mercy 2001, Benoit/Michaels on Raw, Eddie/Misterio on Smackdown.....the list goes on. A Benoit/Jericho Title match would certainly have the fans attention and, considering it would be marketed alongside the Michaels/HHH Hell-in-a-Cell, it should be able to get a decent buyrate as well.

As for the Jericho/Benoit thing, I don't think THEM two as faces versus each other will pan out great. Jericho has always worked against heel Benoit, except for the KOR01 match, which was mostly them kicking Austins ass. The promos wouldn't fit, because Jericho likes to talk trash, and how can he do that against someone he respects and is a close friend of (assuming the bookers remember as far back as 2001)?

 

As for Kane, I'm a fan of Kane, so expect bias on my side to actually see him get a singles match on PPV for the World Title.

Christian can never be taken seriously in the main event. I realise someone on this board actually said this in the other Bad Blood thread, but I also believe that, after the way he's been portrayed over his career, the fans (and Vince) won't take Christian seriously as a contender.

 

Kane, when he's motivated, is hard-pressed to break ** unless he is in there with some kind of wrestling God.

 

Thankfully, he will be.
