Who is annoyed by the fact that......

Recommended Posts

Ok. This one goes out to everyone that's watched to many movies, played to many video games, or read to man books. To those with an overactive imagination.

Who here sometimes daydreams about doing something great? About being a hero?

While the heroic music plays in the background you are doing something noble. Like giving your life to save everyone else. Or saving the girl you love. Or fighting off whoever stands in your way.

Just like in a movie you are brave and you stand down everyone in your path. You have all those virtues that make up a hero and cause others to look up to you.

God I get that feeling all the time. And it drives me crazy that I can't do anything about it.

I mean I guess I could join the Army and become a real life hero.....but I just feel death awaits me on that route.......but I guess if I was giving my life for something I believed in or saving those I cared about.......then it wouldn't be so bad.

I dunno....I've been drinking and I'm pretty tired as well and I was getting all sentimental listening to this music. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one to ever have these feelings.

You're not - I'm sure that everyone feels that way sometimes.

I feel that way ALL the time.

I've been told that it's the result of an overactive imagination. Then I've been told it's the thoughts of a kid who was picked on growing up wishing that he could become a great hero to show everyone that scorned him what he truly is.

I don't know who to believe!

I'm joining the FBI. That's pretty good.

Actually I don't get those feelings because my life really isn't that different from a lot of movies.

what I hate is the fact that everytime I start a new job, I always feel confident the first day, but like a week or two into it, I start feeling like I can't do the job well enough, so I pretty much give up on it, and just kind of go comotose, and just go through the motions of getting the day over. I think this is because I haven't truly found a job I really LOVE to go to everyday yet. Hopefully when my schooling is completed, this will change.

I've had those feelings my whole life and I know my life will not be complete until I get a taste of being...well a hero. I want people to look up to me and cheer for me no matter what. I want to get that tingle in my spine and actually do something about my dreams instead of just drifting off to imagine it. How can anyone go through life without evening trying to achieve that feeling? That "I can't do any wrong and all is right with the World" feeling.

For some odd reason, I honestly feel that I am destined for greatness.

Ladies and Gentlemen this is why there is such thing as a mid-life crisis.

It's when people who have this opinion of themselves come to the reaslisation that they won't ever do anything great.

Not saying that you won't be one of the few to actually do something great because, hey, some do. But I feel like this too, and I'm sure lots of other people do aswell, so one day, when it hits that it aint gonna happen, people will pretty depressed about it.

I sometimes daydream about having sex with Eliza Dusku. Does that count?...

Be a teacher, that way you can latch onto the greatness of others, if you are a HS teacher and have 6 classes a day of 20 students for 35 years, someone's bound to do something good right?!

Or if all else fails KKK's idea sounds good.

Give me a break. With today's modern Google search that was the best you could do? Sigh.

You know, I've heard the "be a teacher, make a difference to that one child in the classroom" line before, and I got the thinking -- what if a bunch of your students ended up being crack dealers, whores and serial killers?...

I'd rather be infamous, personally. Lately I've been thinking of kidnapping someone famous to get my name mentioned. Then starting a successful band will be a piece of cake.

Now that I think of it, Damaramu kind of reminds me of a swollen up Holden Caulfield.

Oh yeah, I daydream about doing heroic shit all the time. Of course, that's all a subplot to my general rage and loathing at God and the universe for how life as we know it has been constructed and corrupted, but anyway.

When I do think like that, I just remind myself of my suicide plan, which I'll go through with at the age of 40. It involves taking out many, many innocent people.

Shit - that's exactly it here.

Ok Dama, I feel like that pretty much all the time too, and you know what I think seriously plays an important part in those feelings, at least for me?

Pro wrestling.

I constantly feel that the chance to do what I want with my life is slipping away rapidly if I don't do anything about it, and it's scary.

Define great. "Great" doesn't have to be "grandiose." I managed to find someone I absolutely adore, and make her feel the same way about me and convince her to marry me. Simple, but I'd call that great. Great is all in how you see it.

Plus, I'm practicing to become the World Champion of Poker, but that's a whole other story.

Here's an idea:

Plant a Tree.

Then, in 30 years, take a look at that tree and feel a sense of accomplishment.

Welcome to Hippyville, Population: You.
