CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2004 Well sanyo, Benoit seems to be getting fine ratings as champ. And the live crowds are really into him. I wouldn't say it's a mistake at all. Sure, Jericho should get pushed, but that doesn't mean Benoit shouldn't.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted May 8, 2004 The WWE is pushing the wrong guy. It should be Jericho not Benoit. Jericho= ratings from people Benoit= ratings from flies I realize you're a newcomer to this board and all... and although we love Jericho, one of the Smart Mark Ten Commandmants is most likely "Thou shalt not say Benoit shalt not be pushed". Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted May 8, 2004 Jericho, RVD, Benoit and Eddie. Note how all are flexable. Jericho did work through back problems and concusssions before. I beleive it was at least one herniated disk and it could've even been more. I've no idea how his health is doing these days. Benoit partially tore his bicep against Angle in their last Smackdown match but worked through it. On OTR he mentioned that other body parts were hurting while his neck was doing okay. I hear Eddie's toughing it out right now.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 8, 2004 Kane definitely. Just look at the angles he has done. 1.) Evil Dentist Issac Yankem. 2.) Diesel II, a Gimmick destined to fail. 3.) Undertakers long lost zombie half-brother. 4.) Son of Paul Bearer 5.) Turned "Human" by X-Pac 6.) Turned heel several times for no reason other than "I'm a monster!" 7.) Semi-Feud with Albert, losing the IC Title to him. 8.) Funny-Kane. Anyone remember the Kanenites? 9.) Necrophillia on the double. 10.) Larry The Missing Link after being unmasked 11.) Shane McMahons Bitch 12.) Undertakers Bitch 13.) Edge's Bitch 14.) Lita Stalker. And for some reason, (thankfully) he's ALWAYS been over with the crowd. (as Kane that is. Yankem/"Diesel" were failed gimmicks before they debuted)

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2004 If I ran the company...I'd have RVD hired as the personal trainer for everyone. Yeah, no shit. It's not just accidental that even with taking sick neck bumps, he's never gotten injured in WWE.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2004 I'm sure RVD gets injured, he just finds *ahem* organic ways to cure his pain.

Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Out of those already said, RVD sticks out... ...but HHH ironically is the most reliable because he will just never leave, even when it becaomes detrimental to his career. As for most reliable to have a good match, it used to be Angle, but now it's Benoit.

Definitely agreed about Benoit there.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 9, 2004 if there was ONE guy right now...I'd put the company on his shoulder... Jericho. No question. He can wrestle He can Talk He is rarely injured Over as fuck and the key thing...He can do Mainstream stuff unlike Benoit.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 9, 2004 For the counter to most reliable, heres the LEAST reliable... BILLY GUNN Constantly injured. Couldn't have a good match to save his life. Can't get over outside of saying Suck It. Back back to the topic at hand: Someone else who's very reliable is....well, I was going to say Big Show, but his little 2000-2001 weight "loss" ruined it. I'll throw Matt Hardys name in. He's been around since 1999 (as a non-jobber) and I don't recall him being injured (serious injury that is) EVER, he's always doing what he's told, and can have good matches with many of the people on the roster. It's not just accidental that even with taking sick neck bumps, he's never gotten injured in WWE. And than you take a look at the legendary Manami Toyota. Toyota is probably the most flexable wrestler ever and has taken enough physical punishment for several wrestlers. There is no way anybody else could've taken the exact same punishment and survived as well as she did if they weren't as flexable.

He came off well on Muchmusic fairly rescently so I don't think it's fair to say he can't do mainstream stuff. I'm really worried about how the WWE is bringing up their wrestlers. They need to train them better and have flexability as a key part of their upbringing. A lot of their wrestlers who went out with neck surgery weren't as flexable as people that have gone through Japan and are flexable. I believe stronger necks (which is the #1 forgotten bodypart) while keeping your flexability is important too. The recruits we see coming out of OVW just seem so fragile and breakable. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 9, 2004 He looked awkward on Fox (can't blame him) and besides...Jericho has that "look" that can go to Leno or whatever and promote... Benoit doesn't. Jericho always feels more comfortable in the spotlight and camera and has done countless stuff for VH1(To the point he's even getting his own deal with them). There is a term for some people I see on VH1 who are "experts" on almost everything, especially the men. FAGS. The REAL Chris Jericho is pretty much his in ring character. a Loud-mouth who won't shut up. Benoit is hardly the type of person who can handle mainstream stuff like Jericho or the Rock. Guest sanyo Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Yeah but Jericho's been on Much music many more times. Also he's been on Off The Record many times and is the only person ever, besides the host Michael Landsberg, to host the show. Now someone would need major confidence to let someone else host the entire show (unless of course they are a major entertainer). Jericho is almost on par with Benoit on wrestling. But Y2J runs away when it comes to mic skills, fan interaction, personality and chrisma. Like I said Y2J is the person they need to run with, not Benoit. As you can see with the Rumble win, Mania title win, Backlash hometown win, Benoit is still NOT over. If he's not over yet, its almost impossible for him to ever get over. People don't care for a toothless champion. Y2J for Prime Minister of Canada.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Jericho never claimed to be an expert...Only Ian Black did. Jericho just made little comments about random pop culture shit...that's not a fag. And Jericho's real personality is what you get on those VH1 shows and other Talk Shows...Humble, Funny and Goofy. And I agreed with Sayno until the part about Benoit not being over... Benoit outpopped Jericho this last Monday on Raw. To tell you the truth, I don't even believe you believe in what you're writing so I can't take it too seriously because you yourself are not being serious. Jericho should be hanging out at the top of the card. I agree with that. He's taken a lot of damage kayfabe wise but still manages to stay over so that tells you something. Guest sanyo Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Benoit got a pop? Don't remember that. All I heard was a few claps and that's it. Must be the hardcore fan. I only hear pops after the matches- and sometimes that's never very big.
Guest sanyo Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Plus I might add that Benoit has the neck to worry about. One bad landing and he's done. Jericho does not have any serious injury stuff to worry about like that.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted May 9, 2004 I definitely agree with Choken about everything he said about Jericho up there - definitely. But MO1M, there is one thing that I don't agree with about Billy Gunn - those pops that he gets right now aren't from D-X, they're from all of his years as a face, well, wrestler in WWE - he was over when Billy & Chuck were together, excuse the pun. He is definitely fading, but who knows? Maybe the screaming young-middle-aged women can help him stay in the company, because I'm getting the feeling that he won't be there for much longer... One hugely reliable guy in WWE is/was Brock Lesnar. Throughout his two-year tenure with the product, he was out for one week. Putting aside his backstage attitude at times, he was/is a damn good wrestler and always had the company's best interests at heart up until he burnt-out. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2004 Why not just being Road Dogg back and get that old New Age Outlaws gimmick started again with Gunn. Could jolt Smackdown in a sad way. Well, the D-O-Double G is over in NWA:TNA wrestling as B.G. James, and he seems quite happy over there. I don;t know if he hasd a written contract with them. Also, beside the fac that that gimmick is staler than the Dudley Boyz, EWR seems to indicate that they don't like each other very much anymore.

Yeah, but if anything happened involving Billy Gunn getting a push, then the IWC would chuck a hissy fit. And why upset Road Dogg in NWA TNA, even if SmackDown! does need something major at the moment? And was I the only one that found that bolded print funny?
