I thought it would be interesting to see what people here do for a living (if not students) and what perks (discounts, infomation, strange benefits, etc) you get.

I work for Brinker International aka Chili's, just started. Prior to that I was an assistant manager at Blockbuster for a damn long time.

 

At Chili's we get a 50% discount on food but we can only eat it there, no to-go's which is ultra lame. At Blockbuster we got 5 free rentals a week, games or movies, as long as they were 21 days after the street date plus 20% off all retail merchandise including soda, candy, toys, dvd's, previously owned games/dvds, etc.

Used to work at the United Artists movie theater in Hattiesburg, MS. We got up to 2 free passes to a show per day and got some free stuff from certain places in the mall, such as gaming magazines from Electronics Boutique.

 

It wouldn't have been bad except it was a 9-screen theater which had 3 screens of Episode One... which we weren't allowed to see for free (fucking Lucas).

Work as staff to the Republican Caucus in the Connecticut Gerneral Assembly House of Reps. I get mediocre pay but since I'm a state employee I get great health benefits. On top of that, I make a ton of contacts in the legislature, get quoted in the paper (though never by name), TV appearnces (on a show watched by maybe 1 % of the state population), and good law making experience.

That would mean there's a grocery store out there with internet access for their employees. A public library located in an inner city with low literacy rates is more likely Choken's place of work.

The only perk of my job so far is that I get a bunch of illiterate fans of quebecois grindcore bands banging their heads when I play guitar.

Kroger hooks me up. Great health coverage, and better pay than any of the other factory bullshit around here. Plus I get to work solely with my life's passion: cigarettes. Also, warehouse chicks are easy.

I'm a bouncer/bartender at an upscale bar. All drinks are half price any time, I can drink while I work, get to beat the shit out of people that get out of hand, and the owners are very well-connected. They also go to the Master's, Kentucky Derby, NCCA Final Four, and shit like that. One flies his own plane and will fly you to events like that if he feels like up and going.

 

 

Plus chicks hit on me all night long because they love bouncers.
