JoeDirt Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Just so you know, it is released today. You can get it at fye.com for $14.99 - not too bad.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Not released here until some time in mid-June... But yeah, I'll pick it up for sure. I'd buy it just for the No Holds Barred match. What sort of extras does it have? I could check, but...
JoeDirt Posted May 18, 2004 Author Report Posted May 18, 2004 I think just whatever the Heat match was and some interviews.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I think just whatever the Heat match was and some interviews. WWE PPV DVDs used to contain decent extras. 2003 decided to put a stop to that.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Extras on the Flair set were still pretty awesome. Anyway, I suspect a reason the old but not "smokey bars and noisy gyms" old stuff aren't on the discs anymore is because they're going to make proper discs for that shit, eventually.

Yeah, the Flair set as a whole was awesome, but the PPVs are not so lately. I'm talking about 2003, because I haven't picked up any 2004 PPVs yet. Of course, WrestleMania XIX is an exception.
Exslade ZX Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 Woa...when I first saw it, it looked like smoke lol. Took a few secs to realize it was a pic of Benoit. But yea it is pretty good box art.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I have the No Holds Barred match uploaded. If I do end up shutting down BNW I suppose I could give the link to download it from.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 That really is an awesome cover design for the DVD.
Aero Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 For anyone who cares, I bought the DVD yesterday, and here's the extras... Promos: - Triple Threat Match - Orton vs. Foley - Handicap Match Sunday Night Heat: - Ric Flair interview - La Resistance in Eric Bischoff's office - Matt Hardy vs. Val Venis Post-Match Interviews: - Molly Holly & Gail Kim - Mick Foley - Eavesdropping on Garrison Cade & Coach after Coach's match - Chris Benoit interview on 4/19 RAW in Calgary Not too bad extras. The Benoit interview from RAW is really good, IIRC from watching it last month.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Hardy/Venis makes this disc worth it for me.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Hehe, on the Backlash cover art, it took about 3 seconds to realise that that was Benoit in grey there. Yeah, isn't Hardy/Venis on Heat supposed to be damn good?
Lil' Bitch Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 1.) Does Venis / Hardy start off with Val's isle entrance? 2.) Is "Eyes Wide Shut" kept intact? 3.) I take it Benoit's, HBK's, and HHH's thoughts from the RAW before Backlash aren't extras?
Aero Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 1.) Does Venis / Hardy start off with Val's isle entrance? 2.) Is "Eyes Wide Shut" kept intact? 3.) I take it Benoit's, HBK's, and HHH's thoughts from the RAW before Backlash aren't extras? 1. No, it starts with Matt's entrance, and Val is already in the ring. 2. I'm 75% sure it's a different song. 3. Correct.

I'm 75% sure it's a different song. 3. Correct. Speaking of the theme, why was it and the Survivor Series 2003 theme changed on the DVD? Why can they get the rights on PPV but not when it is released on VHS and DVD, assuming that that is the problem?
Just call me Dan Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 My Walmart ended its streak of having the new DVDs the day they come out, so I'll have to fork it out at BestBuy now.
Jobber of the Week Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 What's up with you people buying from Brick & Mortar stores? I don't buy my DVDs anywhere else but online because of the huge price breaks. http://www.dvdpricesearch.com/cgi-bin/dvdc...c&tmpCart=34971 There.

Gheyness, good thing I recorded the RAW before Backlash as well as the PPV itself. Speaking of the theme, why was it and the Survivor Series 2003 theme changed on the DVD? Why can they get the rights on PPV but not when it is released on VHS and DVD, assuming that that is the problem? Basically, the artists charge too much for licensing fees / royalties so its WWE's way of saying "Fuck you!" when they edit out the song.

As much as I dislike Limp Bizkit, Fred Durst in particular, Build a Bridge much suited the show and worked better then the current one on the DVD. I forget it's name.
Aero Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 After actually finishing watching the show last night, I realized that "Eyes Wide Shut" is actually on the DVD. It just didn't sound familiar throughout the show or DVD menu until they got to the Triple Threat match.
Lil' Bitch Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 If I remember correctly, "Eyes Wide Shut" wasn't used in the Triple Threat match build-up which I found strange. Is Victoria's music kept intact or did it get edited again? Victoria's theme had no problems on WWE DVDs until the WM XX.

Probably because Tatu are a couple of stupid little fucking tryhard bitches that need to be shot in the head and feasted upon by ravaging wild dogs. You know, even if it isn't their fault...

Sorry about not being clear. Victoria and Flair's themes are edited. Edge has his original theme, too, but he had already switched back to it by Backlash, probably.
Lil' Bitch Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 I got it last night. In the Foley - Orton build-up video, they replaced all the IWA footage with ECW clips. O_O
SuperJerk Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Is Victoria's music kept intact or did it get edited again? Victoria's theme had no problems on WWE DVDs until the WM XX. Its edittd out, but all they did was replace it with an instrumental version of the song. Its the same way on the WWE video games. My favorite edit will always be when they'd take "Rollin'" out of the Biker Undertaker's entrance, even though clips from the Limp Bizkit video could be seen on the titantron. People's music they generally edit: Victoria The Dudleys Bikertaker Edge (when he used Rob Zombie) Ric Flair (sometimes)
DrVenkman PhD Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 What the hell, they haven't dubbed Flair's 1992 music in since.. well, I think since Backlash 2003. That DVD had the most song dubs ever, I think.. so why start again now? When I heard that, I expected Kane's theme to be dubbed again, but that was still kept. Odd.
