redbaron29 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Here is today’s Finisher The greatest WWE Champion of all time is... Billy Kidman-Hulk Hogan. The greatest ever. He got the ball rolling for everybody else. Now somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but don’t these two hate each other? If my memory serves me right didn't Hogan do a shoot on Kidman or something of that sort, and effectively have Kidman jobbed out in the later WCW years? I quite watching wcw by that time so I could be wrong. Discuss
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 During an interview (or something similar), the topic of the new guys wanting "their time" came up, and Hogan said something to the effect of "Kidman couldn't draw flies at a county fair." Then, during the New Blood vs. Millionaire's Club angle, Kidman & Hogan were feuding, and Kidman said something like "you (Hogan) can draw flies because you're a big piece of shit." Now, that was on air, so it was most likely one of those scripted-shooty comments that Russo loved, but I'm betting Kidman loved the chance to say it. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Respect is different from liking/disliking someone. For example, I respect HHH for trying harder in the ring lately, but I still don't like him for all the holding down hes done.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2004 I remember that whole situation. Perry Saturn went on his website and went on a tirade on Hogan for making the comment. He then started berating Hogan like crazy and said he'd take back everything if Hogan ever worked a program with Kidman. After the April 10th, 2000 Nitro, Saturn went on his website and retracted the statements.
Guest Fook Report post Posted May 21, 2004 Well at the very least, no one can ever say Perry isn't a man of his word.

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 If Memory serves, and it don't always.... Hogan probably said that during one of his radio stints on Bubba the Love sponge or somebody. And Perry Saturn caught wind and unloaded on Hogan. Either Hogan was shooting or he was staying in some kind of heelish character (It could have even been during the last life of the nWo) Then when the New Blood angle came about Kidman just dug that whole thing up on air. and Hogan to his credit actually had a couple of matches with Kidman. Justifibly Saturn contracted his statements. But it all starts with hogan's big mouth. Either by him shooting or remaining in character

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Here's the whole article, for those who are interested: The greatest WWE Champion of all time is... Billy Kidman: Hulk Hogan. The greatest ever. He got the ball rolling for everybody else. Pat Patterson: Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. I just admired their work. John Cena: The Hulkster. Just because he was the one that got me into it. He hooked me as a kid. I had to have my Hulkster fix every weekend. Howard Finkel: Bret Hart, for pure technical skills. As far as glitz, glamour and the magnetism that he generated, Hulk Hogan. And as far as an all-around package, Triple H. Teddy Long: Triple H. He held it longer than anyone else in a very long time. He’s been harder to beat than anyone that’s ever had the WWE Title on him. Triple H just carries a lot of credentials, my man, and he’s just the greatest champion I’ve ever seen.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 22, 2004 Good to see they are giving the right people respect. I'd make a gay joke about Pat and HBK but that would be too mean. And it would be immature.

Bret is one of the greatest wrestlers ever (my favorite), but overall he wasn't much on the mike. Hulk was had great charisma and did great promos, but rarely wrestled a good match. HHH when motivated puts on great performances, and is universally know was a great talker. Out of curiousity, who else has been the "total package" as world champion? Some might say Rock and Chris Jericho (although most "marks" would consider him in HHH league)

Guest Fook Report post Posted May 22, 2004 No one said Austin. Considering he just left them, I can't say I'm surprised. Triple H is mentioned twice. What a shock.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 b. I miss Perry Saturn Yes. And as for his website, he was one of the most reliable when it came to replying to fan messages. And no, they weren't all from me.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 My opinion on the best 5 WWWF/WWF/WWE Champions, in chronological order: 1) Bruno Sammartino. He wasn't the first, but he was the one that made the belt respectable with his 7 year reign. 2) "Superstar" Billy Graham: The longest reigning HEEL WWWF Champion. I'm pretty sure that people WANTED to see people get the belt off of him. 3) Hulk Hogan: Brought the belt to the mainstream level. Charasmatic as hell as well. 4) Bret "Hit Man" Hart: Great wrestler, and great story about how deserving he was after 8 years from his first reign. Did well as both a face and heel WWF champion. 5) Stone Cold Steve Austin: Helped to bring WWF to popularity once again, near the levels of the heyday of Hulk Hogan's reigns. PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2004 2) "Superstar" Billy Graham: The longest reigning HEEL WWWF Champion. I'm pretty sure that people WANTED to see people get the belt off of him. It should also be noted how well he looked at WMXX so soon after his illness, and that he'd hardly aged either. Rock on.
