Israel kills the new new Hammas leader

So this makes like 3 in a year? Not bad. They exploded his motorcycle, how badass is that? B-)

Israel Kills Hamas Leader, 2 Others in Gaza

Saturday, May 29, 2004

JERUSALEM — A senior Hamas commander, his assistant and a bystander died in a fiery Israeli air strike in Gaza City early Sunday, hours before Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (search) was to confront his Cabinet over his plan to pull soldiers and settlers out of Gaza.

Hamas called the attack a "cowardly assassination crime" and said it killed Wael Nassar (search), 38, a top Hamas commander; his assistant, Mohammed Sarsour, 31; and an unidentified bystander. The two Hamas leaders were on the motorcycle when it exploded, witnesses said.

The Israeli military said its air force carried out the strike, aimed at "two senior Hamas (search) commanders who were responsible for many attacks against Israelis, including suicide bombings, and were planning further attacks."

Witnesses said they saw a flash in the sky before the motorcycle exploded. Outside the hospital morgue, angry Palestinians, most of them Hamas supporters, chanted "God is great." Amplified statements from local mosques mourned Nassar, one of the founders of the Hamas military wing, called Izzedine al-Qassam (search). Nassar planned many Hamas attacks against Israelis, Palestinians said.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zohri accused Israel of a "cowardly assassination crime," part of Israel's "bloody escalation" against the Palestinians.

Also early Sunday, Israeli tanks and bulldozers briefly entered the Rafah refugee camp (search) on the Gaza-Egypt border and flattened some partially destroyed structures, residents said. Israel ended a weeklong sweep through the camp on Monday.

The attack in Gaza City came just hours before Israel's Cabinet was to debate Sharon's "unilateral disengagment" plan at its regular weekly meeting on Sunday. Sharon's Likud Party turned the plan down in a referendum on May 2, and Sharon appeared to have no majority for the program in the Cabinet.

Preparing for what was expected to be a long, stormy meeting, Sharon holed up Saturday at his ranch in southern Israel, using the opportunity to slam his rivals in an interview with Israel Radio.

Sharon accused unnamed Cabinet ministers of "extortion" and seeking personal political achievements at the country's expense, apparently taking aim at his main adversary — Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sharon will ask the 23 Cabinet ministers to debate a "phased disengagement plan" that calls for the evacuation of all of the Gaza Strip and four West Bank settlements. The plan is almost identical to one that was vetoed in the referendum.

Attempts to find a compromise that would have won him a Cabinet majority failed. So Sharon decided that if the plan was going to bring down his government he wasn't going to water it down.

However, Sharon "doesn't want to do it as a rebellious move but rather get it passed," an adviser, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said. Since most ministers don't want to see the government collapse, it is likely constructive ideas will result from Sunday's debate, he added.

The conflict over the plan has led to sharp confrontations between longtime adversaries Sharon and Netanyahu, with anonymous confidants trading insults in the media.

Netanyahu had originally expressed support for the plan when Sharon returned from a White House meeting with President Bush with unprecedented U.S. commitments in exchange for an Israeli withdrawal.

After Sharon lost the Likud referendum, Netanyahu decided to oppose the plan in the Cabinet, leaving the prime minister one vote short of victory.

The United States and Egypt, meanwhile, keen supporters of the proposal, are waiting for Sharon to make a move. Due to the pullout plan, Bush backed Israel's desire to hold onto chunks of the West Bank under a final peace deal and prevent Palestinian refugees from settling in Israel.

Egypt has pledged to assist in training and reforming Palestinian security forces in the Gaza Strip.

On Saturday, Samara Masharwi, a senior official in Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, said the first Egyptian team would arrive in Gaza on June 17 to begin "rehabilitating" the Palestinian forces. Other officials said the date could change if Sharon does not bring the plan to a vote on Sunday.

Sharon fears a watered-down plan would not have strong U.S. and Egyptian backing, key to a successful implementation, the prime minister's adviser said.

In addition, Sharon is looking to the future and a possible early election if he doesn't get Cabinet and parliament support for the pullout. Polls have shown that a majority of Israelis support the plan and want to evacuate Gaza Strip settlements.

Political analysts said Saturday that Sharon is not eager to go to an early election — partly because he would likely have to compete against Netanyahu in a Likud primary — but would prefer to reshuffle his Cabinet to include the center-left Labor Party.

Sharon's adviser said Labor had indicated it would be willing to join the coalition if the prime minister was serious about evacuating settlements.

Meanwhile, violence also flared Saturday in the West Bank. A Palestinian gunman killed an Israeli army officer in the Balata refugee camp, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Man the way Isreal is handling this particular terrorist group, has me pondering "They killed a cripple in a wheel chair, they killed his successor, and then they killed the guy who became the new leader, who would ever want to seriously want this job? I mean, Isreal doesn't give you five minutes, before taking you out. I mean, you don't even get a chance to pray to Allah, and then twist the message to justify the killing of innocents in his name, without getting a missle launched directly up your bum. Man, this is the most dangerous job, ever. Forget the fisherman in the Alaska, that may be a dangerous job, but this has nothing on the occupation of "Hammas Leader".

And good, Terrorist groups will get no sympathy from me. I may support a Palestinian Homeland, but I hate the way the Palestinians go about trying to make feesible attempts to get one. Violence will bring more violence. And in many cases, many innocent Palestinians get caught in the crossfire. And of course I will not cheapan the deaths of many innocent Isreali's, who have suffered as well. I really wish the Palestinians would turn to the teachings of Ghandi, and go about getting their own home land using peacefull methods. Non-Violent resistance I believe got India freed from the British rule. But for now, these Terrorist Groups are hurting far more than helping get the Palestinians a homeland.

And I hate anyone who uses old religous teachings to justify their cause, while ignoring all the other stuff that goes along with it. And that is what these groups do, and guess what, it doesn't help anyone. I mean, I do understand how pissed off you might get when all of the sudden the United Nations decides to give the Jews a homeland right dab in the Middle of the Arab world. I would be pissed too. But, these groups don't get it that Isreal is not going anywhere. And I believe Muhammad might have talked about fighting anyone who might threaten Islam, but he preached peace as well, and loving your fellow man, regardless of religion, because we are all Allah's people. And also funny how the Koran forbids the killing of innocents, but these groups ignore that teaching all the time, but that message gets missed when preached by radical clerics.

So even though I might not agree with all of Isreal's methods of terrorist disposal, I agree with this. Terrorists show no concern for innocents, so Isreal should go about bringing this group down, leader by leader. They are not helping anyone, especially the Palestinians, who have become the justification to wage war on Isreal. The sad thing is that other Muslims in other countries could really not give two cents about the Palestinians, just as long as they continue to not have a homeland. Because if the Palestinians had their own homeland, then maybe peace would come. But, I do understand that using terror, will continue to harm their cause. And so blame does fall onto the Palestinians, but sometimes Isreal has done some nasty things as well, and so they do not help the cause either in some cases.

But I do believe that the key to peace is for the homeland to become a reality, regardless if they earned it or not (I know many on this board support more extreme measures to solving this problem, but I for one do support a Palestinian Homeland). I wish that the peace plan that fell through back in the early 90's due to some radical Isreali's assasinating the Prime Minister of Isreal (I am sorry if I do not recall his name), had never happened. I do believe that was the closest the Isreali's have ever come to peace with the Palestinians, so in this case what those Isreali's did was very terrorist-like. Who knows, maybe we'd still be in the same boat, but maybe life would be different, and maybe the Middle East might be a little bit more peacefull, as Isreal sits along Palestine. And a man can dream can't he.

And one last thing, I know Clinton had many faults and some believe he was the worse President ever and so forth, I get that. But one thing I will say, I do believe that he missed the boat in trying to get a Palestinian homeland. He waited far too long, and when he seriously tried to get the process going, he ran out of time. Maybe he would have failed, but I thought he was making some progress before he left office. Oh well, missing the boat is a recurring theme with Clinton, but I do believe if he had tackled this earlier, maybe he would have had success. But, knowing Clinton, he had Interns to do stuff to, I mean with. And maybe he was just trying to boost his image last minute, but I do feel that he should have tackled this earlier in his terms. But what do I know?

Hopefully the bystander wasn't an innocent. That'd be unfortunate. That said, bully for Israel.

I've long been a fan of letting Israel slug it out with the entire Middle East...

But that's not likely to happen.

I really hate people like you. You can't even drop your ideology for 5 seconds and appreciate the fact that a complete piece of shit just got killed like the two pieces of shit that came before him.

Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised since you defended the girls getting raped by U.N. soldiers because they got paid.

Yup, Israel IS the bad guy. I mean, they have their troops go into buses and blow up innocents. They have them go to malls and blow themselves up.

What? They DON'T?

So are you legally retarded or...? Just let "mommie" type out the response for us...

Those elements have hated the Israelis for simply existing, not because they do this sort of thing. Jesus, if Osama were killed, I'm guessing you'd respond with "Hell, let's just keep pissing off the Arab world with our political assassinations!"

And actually on topic:

We should really start keeping a running tally of how long before the next attack on the Hamas leadership occurs. We could even start taking bets!

That meetings is the second Tuesday of every month. We'll just put the blood in the 'fridge until then.

You know, I just looked at my kkk picture and noticed that the HORSES have hoods on them, too.

Didn't know horses can be racists -- and those steeds are dark-colored to boot.

Weird...

Oh my God, why the fuck are you saying shit about things you don't know anything about? We had Palestinians in our schools, and they have experienced so much shit, they aren't "monkeys who strap boom-booms" to theirselves.

These are people who had to wait in line for 3 hour each day before getting permission to go HOME. Often they got spat on, hit and talked shit to by soldiers with machine guns.

You people don't understand, and don't want to understand. You'd better thank God because you live in a peaceful country, and can go home when you want to. When you're a prisoner in your own country, and get hit each day, what the fuck are you supposed to do? I'm not saying being a suicide bomber is good, but remember, stupid Palestinians parents let their kids go out and commit suicide.

And it's pretty easy to see that you support Israel the most. Is it because USA give Israel Apache-helicopters and other weapons? You people think it's fucking COOL to kill a CRIPPLED MAN who prayed to Allah (oh my God, how stupid, w00t!)

Try to see things from both sides, it's like you all you people see in the news is that Palestinians and Muslims are after killing as many Jews as possible.

What kind of news do you people get in, actually?
