Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted June 2, 2004 I do think it's funny that Benoit's greatest rival (at least on American soil) isn't on the dvd (Jericho). I really think they should have shown a Benoit/Jericho match in place of the Angle/Benoit Rumble Match... I know they had a supposedly ***** match in Japan...not sure if they have access to it but they had many **** matches in WCW and WWE... Super J Cup 1995 is their only Japan match I know of and it is barely ****. Nobody calls it *****. I agree. Personally, I think the J-Cup '95 match isn't even the best Benoit vs. Jericho match. Plus, the finish to the J-Cup Benoit-Jericho match seemed a little messed up. The move ended up looking more like a powerslam than a tombstone.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 No one answered my question..is this coming to the U.S. or is this another U.K. only release? I think Kido sorta answered it, I know there's a Beniot one coming out on July 27th but is it one in the same?
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Yeah, the U.S. is getting the same DVD. Here's a link to the listing at Highspots.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 I have November to Remember '95, and there is no Benoit vs. Sabu match on the card. Maybe they got the show mixed up. Also I have Double Tables, and yes the Benoit/Al Snow match was epic. It will be nice to see the WWE production crew tighten the production quality of the match, since it was during the old days of ECW before they got decent looking quality for their home videos. It is a shame they left out Chris Benoit's Triple Threat days in ECW, but I am guessing they didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with Shane Douglas who was the leader of the group. Oh Well. Scroby 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 I'm pretty sure if they did have Shane Douglas in it, Shane would want money for having his image shown for selling WWE product. Actually I take that back WWE would have to ask Douglas to let them use his image for anything since Shane owns his name, his gimmick, etc..etc...etc... Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 That match rules simply for the fact that Jericho tells Benoit "Come on motherfucker!" and Benoit gives him this look that says "Oh, I'm fucking this guy up real good now". Jericho almost killing himself on his inside-outside moonsault is fun too.

pochorenella 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 It'll certaintly outsell the Mysterio, Cena, Brock, Shawn dvds but it won't be able to approach Flair's #'s. I understand HBK's DVD sold really, really well, so I wouldn't be too sure about that. Ditto for Foley's (the latest one), it even placed in the top 75 overall for Amazon.com, which only Flair's had done before. Can't really say for Mysterio, Brock, or Cena. Of course, Cena's being the worst of the bunch.
Guest Cheech Report post Posted June 2, 2004 This is going to be great. I have all the Japan and WWE matches (minus the Benoit vs. Angle cage match in full), but I'm really looking forward to the other stuff.

Dangerous K89 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 ....right. Anyway, it would be AWESOME for them to put Malenko/Benoit on there from Hog Wild 96 and include all of the bikers booing the entire match. Great times. Also, Raven/Benoit Souled Out is overated. Nice match, though.

Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 A Benoit DVD outselling HBK/Foley dvds? Do some of you have this impression that Benoit is over to a point where general marks will shell out 20 bucks to watch some of his old matches? I guarantee this DVD doesn't outsell Foleys or HBK's. Hektik 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 A Benoit DVD outselling HBK/Foley dvds? Do some of you have this impression that Benoit is over to a point where general marks will shell out 20 bucks to watch some of his old matches? I guarantee this DVD doesn't outsell Foleys or HBK's. Well, fans are under the impression that Shawn Michaels is a legend. Most didn't even watch Michaels during his original run. It was the WWE propaganda machine that force fed this idea to the newer fans to the point where it is now widely accepted. My point is if you say something enough times people will start believing it. If they promoted Benoit better it might do better. I think it could do good if they release it in Canada the same day as in the US. I think most fans, even casual, want to see older matches from places other than the WWE. That will have to be one of this DVDs selling points.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2004 *Wonder if they'll include any eggs and if so...what should they be? They should include the promo from October 2002 where Eddie Guerrero was ranting at Benoit for a few minutes and Benoit just stared at Eddie then walked away. Edit: Will most likely be on the Eddie DVD.
