What happened to the SAT's

Recommended Posts

Guest JacK

With the debut of Impact, TNA seems to be putting a tad more focus on the X-Division . . . and after watching some old match's, I was wondering . . . where did the SAT's go? I've seen little of them, but they had some decent spots. I mean they had some botch's, but it's the X-Division and it's pretty much all about spots.

I figure bringing in some X-Division tag teams would be a somewhat sensible thing to do, especially if that news I read in another thread was accurate about them feeling the X-Division was important in gaining interest. I know when I first saw the SAT's and Red I was like 'wow'.

And where did the Natural's go? They seemed pretty decent, and they looked like they could fit somewhere near the X-Division. I mean if Michael Shane can, I wouldda thought they could too.

Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas? They had cool hair! :headbang: I dunno, TNA seemed intent on pushing them a bit, they feuded with AMW, apparently had some pretty good match's with them. They even have a match with AMW up for download on nwatna.com in a few weeks. I figured after putting them on the webiste they should at least bring 'em in for a bit.

Hopefully they have some plans, the tag team division is kind of lacking what with the break up of Diamond/Swinger, the dissappearance of Julio and Punk. All their left with is AMW, occassionally XXX and a bunch of bodgy makeshift teams like Dallas - Kash and Gilberti - Swinger or Diamond or whichever one it was that turned.

But . . . why? The stuff I've seen of them hasn't been that bad (albeit only a couple of match's), and their spots are nice. They seem very X-Division-ee.

And isn't that Nathan Jones levels of r's? Or Tomko? SAT's > Tomko x Jones

When I first saw the SAT's back in some indy shows in Queens, I thought they were spectacular. It took a couple of viewings to realize that they just spot monkeys most of the time and sloppy ones to boot. When they're on, they're on...when they're not, you can't risk putting that on television.

Exactly what I was going to say.

As for The Naturals, I like them. The Natural Disaster is a pretty badass finisher, and they certainly deserve another PPV opportunity.

With TNA repeating itself now that they've got a TV deal, how long until The Disciples of the New Church is back in action?

In 2002, the SAT's were something. Problem is - they never got better. They actually got worse in the ring.

The Naturals are weird. They've been hanging around TNA for almost 6 months now, but I think they've only had one match on ppv. Now with AMW back with the titles, some Naturals-AMW title matches would be smart seeing as how familiar the 2 teams are with each other.

The SAT are mostly a novelty act. Cool the first few appearances for a fed, I think mostly because they're trying to impress management, and have good matches the first few times out. But in most matches they blow about as many spots as they actually hit. Also without the Amazing Red to team with Joel and Jose are pretty useless as just a tag team. Plus they don't have the excuse of being green anymore either.

I still love laughing at douches who always told me back when TNA first started that the SAT were awesome. I'd rather watch Brock Lesnar matches than them two spot monkeys.

SAT=suck. Although i can see them being brought back for the reasons listed above, but I'd rather not see.

I never had a problem with SAT's, i always thought they put on good spots but that seems to be a problem. Id rather see lots of spots that impress me then two guys just random punch-kick-irish whip-blick combination.

TNA definatly have to get the Backseat Boyz though.

Yeah, because that Brock Lesnar - he was sooo bad in the ring, right?

He wasn't anything more than average. I don't see how anyone can call him anything more considering if you look at most of his matches, it's either monster Brock killing midcarders, or babyface Brock being someones bitch before making the big comeback.

Plus I'm still pissed he deserted Smackdown, so he loses points, and that's the main factor in my dislike.
