Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I kinda fell out of touch with my Xbox, until about recently when I bought Hitman: Contracts, the new Splinter Cell, and Manhunt. I'm thinking of getting Ninja Gaiden and Red Dead Revolver. Are there any other good games that I wouldn't know about that I should check out?

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 My current collection consists of: Dead to Rights GTA Xbox Hitman 2 Hitman: Contracts Jet Set Radio Future Manhunt Max Payne Max Payne 2 Morrowind GOTY Edition Splinter Cell Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 THUG Not really interested in sports titles or games having to do with one of my most loathed TV shows. I've been interested in KOTOR for a while, but I'm questioning whether or not to get it since it is an RPG, and I really really hated playing Morrowind. The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 How can you have an Xbox without Halo?? And sadly, as much of a Buffy/Angel fan as I am, I can't recommend Chaos Bleeds. That game wears out its welcome the moment you beat it. As for the first Buffy game for Xbox, I can't comment as I've never played it. Dames
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I had Halo.....sold it because I couldn't find people to play multiplayer with. Then, a few months ago, my friends started having Halo parties on the weekends, and I've regretted it ever since. I'd probably go for getting Halo, but only for under 20 bucks. The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 If you have a broadbast connection, all you need is your computer and you can multiplayer across the net without Xbox Live....if you're interested. Warning: The online community will DESTROY your ass. I own a closets worth of asses after having mine continuously re-handed to me. Dames
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 "How can you have an Xbox without Halo??" a) You hate FPSers. b) You hate moving with two analog sticks. Manhunt--major gag. Recommendations: Metal Slug 3 Voodoo Vince Panzer Dragoon Orta I don't really have much more than that yet.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Manhunt rules. I can understand not liking first person shooters, but the two analogs used for movement isn't just an Xbox thing anymore. Dames
Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Manhunt is very difficult and repetitive, but I loved it anyhow. There's just something inside of me that enjoys seeing people getting shanked with a piece of glass over and over again. As for the non-XBOX live online playing....all you need is a router, correct?
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Nope...I don't have a router. Basically, what I did was I took my (NEW!) cable modem and connected it to the PC via USB (which it came with) and connected the Xbox to the PC via the Ethernet cord. Now you've got a connection going in and one going out. Dames

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I'm actually playing Prince of Persia on my friend's GC right now. An absolutely amazing game. RS:3 is something I'd probably go for. I had always wanted to check it out when it came out last year.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 Then unfortunately, you're going to run into some serious gaming issues in the next few years. Consoles are being made more powerful every year and more compatible with the PC/online community, which have been using analog controls (mouses) for a long time. I'm still not used to the analog controls, which is my weakness with Halo (especially online), but eventually...I believe game systems won't even have D-pads anymore. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I can understand not liking first person shooters, but the two analogs used for movement isn't just an Xbox thing anymore. Actually I recall Timesplitters long long ago when PS2 first launched using the dual analog controls. That pissed me the fuck off at first. I'm still not used to the analog controls, which is my weakness with Halo (especially online), but eventually...I believe game systems won't even have D-pads anymore. Seriously that's going to make some games a lot more annoying. Especially during menu selections and racing games.

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 I love using the two sticks for moving. It's hard to adjust back to the one stick now that I've gotten so used to the other way.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2004 See, I don't mind the stick for moving...not at all. It's the one for looking that fucks me up. The guys online have fucking Look Sensitivity at 10..which is RIDICULOUSLY fast...and I don't even have mine on 5 and they still move too fast for me man. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2004 I'm still not used to the analog controls, which is my weakness with Halo (especially online), but eventually...I believe game systems won't even have D-pads anymore. Dames That'll be when I probably cease upgrading my hardware. See, I don't mind the stick for moving...not at all. It's the one for looking that fucks me up. Well, obviously that's the one that pisses me off, especially when you're going up a hill and you have to VERY CAREFULLY adjust the stick--and none of this games seem to have a way to quickly go back to the default, eye-level viewpoint. So you get blasted with enemy fire struggling with the damn viewpoint. Totally ghey. It's like I told EQ...I remember when all we had was a joystick and one button. God, I feel old. Dames When was this? The NES had A, B, Start (and select?), the Master System had at least two buttons on the controller. You start with an Atari?
