I rememmber someone mention needing a thread dedicated to the Back to the Future series and all the time traveling mumbo jumbo. I just thought I'd put one up, so this thread can encompass all your fav quotes, scenes, and trying to explain and figure out all the little inconsistancies and plotholes that this series created.

I have a soft spot for Part III when Marty goes "great Scott" and Doc follows with "I know, this is heavy".

My set runs smoothly on my DVD player, and I think I got it several months after the problem was fixed, so I'd say yeah, it's safe.

I would think so, check the box and see what year it states (the fix-up should say 2003)

If anyone has Trio there's a special on right now about the DeLorean (and it's subsequent failure)

Watching that doc now, looks like it was made at the time of the car's release.

How sad that this vehicle is recognizable to people of my generation only as Doc Brown's time machine- well at least it's remmembered for something.

-I'd do anything to own a DeLorean.

Bet it would cost a small fortune now adays.

Well if you've got 15,000 available you can get one on eBay in the next 2 hrs-

1982 DeLorean

Better hurry there's only 2 hrs left!

I'm looking at the photos of the car for sale, and judging by the speedometer, you can't even hit 88MPH with it.

Gyp.

I had no problems with the trilogy box set, and I got it back when it first came out.

The problem with the set was that Part 2 and Part 3 weren't framed correctly in the widescreen release.

Basically, instead of compressing the image for widescreen they CUT the top and bottom parts of the image off.

I got the widescreen version, and saw no problems.

And DMann, you must not be aware of the federal restriction that limited visible speedometers to 85mph during the performance drought of the 70s and 80s. If a car had a digital speedometer (such as the C4 Corvette), it clearly went faster than 85, as did most any car. However, the government felt power of suggestion would keep people from thinking it could go faster than 85, and thus use less gas. Obviously, some fell for it.

I wasn't aware of them, though I assumed the car COULD go 88 MPH, just mad that I couldn't see it do so.

I'm a stickler for such things.

to see if the DVDs are the corrected ones, check the back, and i think were the bar code is, there should be a "v2" somewhere.

Or you can just buy any version and Universal will replace your discs by mail

I bought the set when it first came out, and I obviously got the screwed up discs. I called the studio and they mailed me an envelope and I mailed them right out to them once I got that, and I had the corrected discs in less than a week. I was so shocked by such great service, it was so easy.

I love all these movies. Childhood memories, ya know? There are little mark out moments all the way through everything, but my absolute favorite part is in Part 1 with Marty joining the band to sing 'Johny Be Good".

I mark for the quick glimpses of the JAWS video game (NES) and Roger Rabbit stuffed doll in the window of the store he buys the Almanac.

Which makes me wonder, for 50 YEARS of sports statistics, that book is REALLY FUCKING THIN.

It was in very small print. ;)

.....Well...maybe, but the fact he found a random NCAA Football score on a random day makes me wonder how they can fit so much in like a 100 page book.

When Doc first shows up in Part III is a markout moment for me. That is such a great entrance right when you think Marty is screwed.

Logic has no place here. Next thing you know you'll be asking how come Jennifer looks different in the sequels and why Marty's 1884 ancestor resembles Marty and not George and such...

I realy enjoy the back to the future films, for me they've gotten better the older I've gotten as I understand some of the more subtle bits to the film.
