So on Saturday I leave for London for a month, as part of a sorta-class-type thing for college. I'm sure a lot of you have been to Britain and I know a bunch of you live there, so...what non-touristy things of merit should I make some time for during my stay? I'm going to be at Regents College, but able to go pretty much anywhere in free time.

I enjoyed the hell out of my time in London. Of course, it rained a lot, but that didn't matter. I spent a lot of time in the pubs and clubs, and in Picadilly Circus and the surrounding area. This was in 1992, of course, so things might've changed.

I'd go to stonehenge.

I live in the city where Stonehenge is, if your gonna check out Stonehenge do it on the 21st of June the longest day I believe, we get all the hippy fucks in town, you can see the cloud of pot smoke coming down the hill into Salisbury. Fun is had by all. And by all I mean everyone bar the police, and conservatives in town they fucking hate it.

Meh...never really that into London myself. I've been a few times and it was ok, and of course I was never the age to be visiting night-life and stuff. Outside of Wembley and the Dome, I never really went to do anything.

I guess this is 'touristy'...if you're not freaked out by heights, queues, the general public and high prices, the London Eye's a pretty decent half hour or so.

Bars and clubs are your best bet for something to do though.

When I was overseas, I found that I enjoyed some of the smaller towns more than London itself (Windsor is where I was stayng, so spent most of my time there, but also went to places like Reading and Stratford a few times.) London was Ok, too, I guess, but it wasn't the best place to visit IMHO. Do you know the old saying "it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there"? I felt the exact opposite of that for London: it'd be a nice place to live, but I wasn't stoked with visiting there.
