I found it a little strange that a thread for this "big event" comic had yet to be posted. I hope I'm not the only one here that got the first issue. If you didn't know, IC is an eight-issue mini-series written by novelist Brad Meltzer, with art by Rags Morales and Mike Bair. It is a beautiful book, both art-wise and story-wise.

It is the story of the Elongated Man's birthday. Every year, his beloved wife Sue sends him out on patrol so she can plan his surprise party. She is assisted by old members of the JLA and other heroes. Both are loved by the team. Sue is even an honorary member. And then she is murdered. The comic is supposed to be not about the mystery of who did it (Elongated Man and his team have their own suspect nailed they think), but why this person did what was done.

I really hope I'm not the only person reading this.

I still think 46564765436143 (i'm to lazy to spoiler code, but you know who it is) isn't the big casualty of Identity Crisis. It's a swerve, and someone bigger will get bumped off in the end. I'm still wondering how Hal Jordan is going to play into this, and its cool that Meltzer is a mark for Deathstroke the Terminater.

The first issue was a great read.I agree that the death in the first issue isn't the "Major" death in the series. However, the way the death was written made it come off like a major deal to the heroes.

I got it, and enjoyed, but I just assumed there'd already be a thread for it.

I find Marvel's Identity Disc pretty hilarious.

Alas Im still a 3 hour drive from any comics, so it looks like theres no Identity Crisis for me.

Whats the deal with Marvels Identity Disc anyways?

Exactly. And from the covers I've seen, I can't wait to see what role Slade plays.

One wacky thought is that they brought back a character associated with Deathstroke. Yes, that's right - DC *IS* Jericho!!!

Feel free to groan now.

In all seriousness, that could be a reason (although probably not Jericho, since he's still quite dead. A new Vigilante, maybe?). The other is simply that he's "employed" to off some metas...

Identity Disc is about there being a rumored computer disc with all the personal information and everything about all the Marvel Universe heroes on it. Apparently it's been revealed that it DOES exist, and all the villains like Deadpool and Sandman and such are out to get it. To me, basically its the Marel Universe version of "It's a mad, mad world" movie.

I'm groaning. Jericho is dead. I *think* Deathstroke has a daughter who is a nother psycho wackjob.

Actually it appears Deathstroke will be hired for a different reason

In Wizard 150 they gave a preview of issue two in which the DC Universe assassins are hanging out in an abandon satellite. At the end Dr. Light, the guy suspected of killing Sue, comes in scared out of his mind and with money and asks the villains for help. Deathstroke happens to be the best one there.

Also the cover of issue 3 shows Deathstroke going up against the heroes with the secret along with Wally(Flash) and Kyle(GL), who I guess are there to make up for Barry and Hal.

So it looks like Deathstroke was hired for protection.
