AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Oh sure, in Exhibition it's not a problem, but in Season, it's quite different. It actually seems like the opponents get luckier as you increase the CAWs stats. Besides, I've never had problems beating Big Show, so that's a very poor example. I love the realistic aspect of the game that requires the smaller in-game wrestlers 4 times the amount of moves that the hosses need to do to win. Because when the smaller guys win in WWE matches, it's because they've absolutely dominated the match. HCTP is clearly the most well-balanced, realistic wrestling game on the market...except for all those other games that are better that came out a long time ago. I don't get what the "different moves" thing is supposed to mean. Guys with higher strength do even Cruiser moves better than the Cruiserweight guys, since moves aren't divided up by the type of wrestler that would do them and would be more skilled at them. DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 They need to fix the broken submission system badly. What do you mean? Like how some moves are tug of war and some are where they just yank on your arm?
Anya 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Yes, the whole thing is completely broken.
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Those graphics look amazing. I haven't played a wrestling game in a while, but have they ever fixed the wrestler's hands? They were always blocky and never moved.
Guest KingofHarts Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I've been hearing umors of a GM mode. That should kick ass!
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 GM mode would rule. A-Train would main-event every week.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted June 18, 2004 There's a lot of improvements that I'd like to see in this game. I'm sure several of them have already been listed as well by multiple people throughout the months that Here Comes the Pain has been out. Give the Legends entrances. Doesn't WWE own the music anyway? Give the game on-line compatibility. Remove the damn Hardcore title from the game. Add the Women's title to the game...and the ability to select women in season mode to compete in matches other than Bra & Panties. Remove the Bra & Panties mode. Make it so top rope moves jump towards your opponent instead of to a certain spot in the ring. Especially annoying when jumping off the Chamber. Give the wrestlers realistic movesets. It's always stupid to see a wrestler using some other wrestlers signature move as a regular move. Half the damn roster in the game has a full nelson slam. Don't make specials so easy to reverse. Make all submission moves bring up the submission meter. The figurefour thing is really annoying. You should be able to move the submission meter against Smackdown difficulty opponents. As of right now, it's impossible. More hair selections in CAW mode. Seriously. Also a premade Vader mask would be nice...since they have Mankind, Kane, etc.... Implementing a Fire Pro style for move use would be nice. It's annoying to have the first moves done to you be a Powerbomb, Chokeslam & Piledriver. Have an up-to-date roster. Why wasn't La Resistancè in the last game? Jamie Noble? Molly Holly? Dawn Marie? Garrison Cade? Bradshaw? Billy Kidman? Funaki? Nunzio? Add more "indy" moves to the CAW. Ki Krusher '99 & Styles Clash were in but Cattle Mutilation wasn't? C'mon. More premade movesets would be nice too.... More "original" music. Even if it's a rip-off. Some original titantrons would be nice too. Basically, more options for made up CAWs. Add in a lot more unlockables. I unlocked everything in the last game in the first two days. Granted I played the piss outta the game, but now I have close to $300k and nothing to do with it. No Mercy had Godfather's Ho, which was terrible, but it was something to shoot for. When bringing in new Legend characters, make sure it's people that we'll care about. How many people pick Nikolai and his bearhug of doom on a regular basis? The only time I ever pick him is when he's teaming with Iron Sheik as a tag team. We need people like Rick Rude, Jake Roberts, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Honky Tonk Man, Bad News Brown, Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart (so you can play as the Hart Foundation), Rick Martel, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, The Big Boss Man, Paul Orndorf, Demolition, The Legion of Doom, The Brain Busters, etc. If Jake Roberts & Rick Martel are both in, a Blind Fold match better be in that ass too! How about the ability to select old arenas? Reliving classic Wrestlemania's would be neat...like the roman themed Wrestlemania IX. More psychology influenced movesets. Ric Flair didn't have enough moves that worked the leg in the last game. I think Triple H had more!
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I say they should screw putting legends in the game, and just fill the CAW with all the stuff you'd need to make the legends. Kind of like in SD2 (?) where you had to unlock movesets, only extend that to making their costumes easy as well - like, maybe a pre-made nWo outfit, complete with shirt, jeans, and Kevin Nash's face. Because really, making them full characters only means they can put less actual, current wrestlers in the game. And like someone said, a lot of people just don't care about legends, so this way you could pick and choose exactly which ones you want.
tetsubeav 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 More "original" music. Even if it's a rip-off. Some original titantrons would be nice too. Basically, more options for made up CAWs. Amen on the Titantron thing. Why can't they apply the same idea that's behind that "video package" for your fueds before PPVs? Have a set of even just 3-4 highlight Titantrons where it inserts your CAW doing stuff to other wrestlers. If they need to free up room for that by cutting features then: * Trash that PPV promo video. It was cool the first few times now I'm just sick of it. At least make it skippable if they keep it. * Trash the stupid "original" entrances. Maybe keep one or two, but I don't need all the stupid ballet/low rider etc entrances. Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Create-a-Tron would be fucking awesome. The way you just described doing it is how I always thought it should be done. I can truly see myself spending more time on a CAW's video than their moveset. I've personally always wanted a create-a-move feature. It could be like the one in Fighter Maker or the one in THUG. Or in the case that online play is a new feature, Yuke's could have a site where you can download new, heavily rewuested moves, a la Sirepro D.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I'd mark out HUGE for old school arenas... Wrestlemania IX was the worst WM ever, but Caesar's Palace looked AWESOME for that event. I'm sure there are probably 4-5 other classic venues they could easily make too.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Create-a-Tron would be a great idea to avoid all the CAWs having 'WWE logo' as a titantron. It must be possible. LOW2 has that sort of intro video, and it was possibly to alter the wrestlers in the opening video of the N64 games.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 As for the blindfold match, they could either: a) Darken/blur the screen so it's hard to see the wrestlers or b) controlling/steering your wrestlers would be thrown all out of whack, like on some other games. No offense to Iron Sheik or Nicolai, but c'mon. And Hillbilly Jim? In what universe is that 'tard a legend? Give me Hogan, or OLD SCHOOL Savage, or Bret Hart. I'll take Ultimate Warrior or Honky Tonk Man. A Ricky Steamboat in this game would make my life almost complete. Only one thing would make it complete, though, and I wish to god they'd give it to us: I. Want. ANDRE.
