Holy shit, it is Father's Day...

 

Kotz, you should've actually given us a card.

 

Benoit/Kane - I'm expecting a tremendous 'big man-little man' match. I see Benoit retaining and facing Edge at Vengeance.

 

HHH/HBK - Hell in a Cell - Has the potential to be the greatest Hell in a Cell of all time. It'll be long, it'll be a bloodbath, it'll be jaw-dropping. Michaels blows the feud off.

 

Benjamin/Orton - They showed us what they can do on two weeks ago's Raw. They'll only do better here, hopefully, even if the style of that match didn't seem at all like PPV. Orton retains.

 

Victoria/Lita/Gail Kim/Trish Stratus - Victoria/Gail would have been much better and made more sense. It's now just one decent worker + three spot machines. Three bad spot machines. Not that I really give a shit, but Gail goes over.

 

Jericho/Tomko - At least it's not in a Steel Cage nor involving Trish Stratus. Shouldn't be too bad if Tomko can work with Jericho and not fall on his ass next time he tries to master the almighty kick. Nothing too special. If it's not a no contest, Jericho, but I can't see it cleanly.

 

Eugene/Coachman - I don't care. The only thing I'll be looking out for is comedy, and if they can't even deliver that and try to pass Coach off as a wrestler ala Backlash, it'll fucking suck. Every good card has to have a low point. Eugene wins.

 

Edge/Benoit VS La Resistance - The main highlight of their Raw match where the former Champs dropped the straps was the crowd. I think they'll pull it out of the bag on PPV, but the problem there is, even if match will, or at least should be first up, it'll take a lot out of Benoit, especially heading into his Championship match with Kane. La Resistance go over, proving that it wasn't just a stomping grounds advantage.

 

Has the potential to be the PPV of the year. So far, at least.

I have absolutely no desire for this after ROH's incredible show tonight.

 

Shawn/HHH will REALLY have to bring it to even come halfway near that level...

 

I'm expecting a bleh night with HIAC getting the highest mark around ***3/4.

 

everything else will be painfully average and predictable.

Hopefully all three title holders retain. As for the HIAC, I don't really care who wins, I mean they've had so many freaking match's and they each come out on top about half the time so whatever.

 

Unfortunatly, being at college and not at home, I'm not getting this PPV, so that kind of sucks, but at least the card isn't too spectacular.

I figure you people know the card anyway. It isn't my job to tell you everything, especially when a match-by-match prediction thread is RIGHT THERE below this.

I'll be watching Bad Blood, I think it should be at the very least a reasonable PPV. Barring possibly HIAC, nothing looks outstanding but nothing looks utterly worthless either.

 

Benoit/Kane - The last good Kane match was when exactly? If Benoit can drag a good match out of Kane here (or Kane has the match of his life) then I'll be very impressed indeed.

 

HHH/HBK - The feud has been overlong, but at least (unlike, say, Test/Steiner) it's resulted in some really good matches, and this will hopefully be no exception. I don't expect previous HIAC's to be topped in terms of bumps or brutality, but the drama should be great (and it goes without saying there'll be blading-a-plenty). This has to end the feud though. No clean finish will piss me off no end.

 

Benjamin/Orton - Not really sure what to expect here. There's no Flair or Batista elsewhere on the card so I'm thinking interference is highly likely and the feud will continue for a while. Hopefully both guys can turn things up a notch from their Raw matches and put out a good match.

 

Victoria/Lita/Gail Kim/Trish Stratus - I think it's a little harsh on Trish to call her a bad spot machine - she's leagues ahead of Lita and Gail. I'm still expecting badness though, because, well, it's a fourway with the women.

 

Jericho/Tomko - Probable low point of the show, I just want Jericho to win and start moving up to the ME already.

 

Eugene/Coachman - I was pleasantly surprised by Coach's match at Backlash, and Eugene's matches have all been decent so far...I think it'll be fun.

 

Edge/Benoit VS La Resistance - I don't get people saying this match will take it out of Benoit - the chances of him being in the ring for over 10 minutes is virtually nil, and he'll have a good chance for a rest in between matches - he'll be fine. Anyway, I expect the usual tag-team formula stuff and then a bit more Edge heel-turn teasing before his complete turn on Raw. Should be watchable.

 

Has the potential to be the PPV of the year. So far, at least.

I'm getting Bad Blood mainly because I have someone else chipping in. I'm a broke fuck right now so I cut back on pretty much all PPVs

 

I think Bad Blood will be good though, and a LOT better than last years suck-fest. I hope they add another match for filler since there's only 7 matches I think, and only 1 I can see going past 20 minutes (being HIAC).

I just brought it up because if you think about it, Jericho/Tomko won't be longer than 10:00 TOPS, Eugene/Coach about 5:00, and the Bathroom break (aka Womens Match no one cares about) 5:00. That leaves about 2 hours for 4 matches. If they DO put HIAC before the Main Event, they need some filler so the crowd and sit on their hands and get happy for the World Title Match.

Well history shows the non-title HIAC Match has NEVER headlined a PPV except the first ever when the World Title wasn't even defended.

 

I honestly don't know which will go last, but the real main event is HBK/HHH....if it's the middle of the show, I can't wait to hear "Duh....the last match is the main event! duh!"

I think they will make up for the "lack" of matches with extra backstage skits.

 

I really can't think of anything that would get a PPV slot, since nothing else is really happening with the exception of Tajiri coming back and challenging Batistia...but thats a LOOONG shot.

Which goes to show how badly this has been built, outside of HBK/HHH. It could very well be a solid PPV and maybe even the sleeper show of the year. But on paper, nothing excites me. Not one match.

Benoit/Kane - I have faith in Benoit getting a good match out of Kane if Kane can just follow his lead. I expect this match to be similar to how A-Train / Benoit was booked at No Mercy last year. Benoit wins with the Crossface or the Sharpshooter if the Crossface doesn't work.

 

HHH/HBK - Hell in a Cell - If this is the last match, HBK has to go over. For once, lets have a face win in the final match of the night otherwise it will just be a repeat of most RAW PPVs from last year. For HBK, I would call him winning via SCM out of nowhere like at the RR earlier this year. But I'm expecting HHH to go over of course with the typical sledgehammer shot / Pedigree combo.

Jericho/Tomko - The quicker this match is, the better for us and for Jericho. If Jericho beat A-Train of all people with the Walls on the last RAW, he can beat Tomko the same way. Or a lame Enziguri finish if they really have to.

 

Eugene/Coachman - Piss break for me.

 

Edge/Benoit VS La Resistance - I expect this to be the opening match and to be booked very similar to the Montral match. The Quebecers go over via a botched mistake from Edge again.

1. Since we all know the WWE's women's division sucks, what's taking them so long to bring up Alexis Laree from OVW? Not only is she more talented than all of the women (with the exception of maybe Molly), she's damn hot as well.

 

2. Do you think anybody will take a bump off the cell tonight? I'm highly doubting it, since Trips is too much of a pussy and Shawn's back is bad.
