Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Without even adressing your main points I'll say this. We're talking about Courtney Love. The woman can't keep her mouth shut about ANYTHING. THere's absolutely no way she could have been in on the planning. SHe's a strung out Heroin Junkie. El Duce was another Junkie who from all reports I've read/heard got hit by a train. Yes it could have been a murder scheme. El Duce owed alot of people alot of money though so it's not like it had to be the Lie Detecter thing that got him killed. Courtney could have been involved in the murder to the extent of "Duhhh...I...uh..*Sniff*..want him dead." but not much past that.
Guest Doyo Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Uh dude, it is pretty much established fact that Courtney was in L.A. Most people don't think El Duce had anything to do with the murder, but he is significant because 1. He passed the lie detector test saying that Courtney tried to get him to do it and he refused. 2. It is fact that him and Courtney knew each other. 3. His body was found on the railroad tracks days after he did the documentary interview. Kurt and Courtney's friend, Michael DeWitt, is the person who many believe killed Kurt for Courtney. He was seen coming and going from the house and flew off to L.A. to see Courtney. He also lived on the residence and worked as their male nanny.

SHe's a strung out Heroin Junkie. Just go listen to some of her conversations from around this time period with detective Tom Grant on his site http://www.cobaincase.com Listen to her talk about paying people to get fake stories planted in the press, burning up notes, pretending she was Kurt's mother when filing the missing person report, etc. It's pretty obvious that she can be very calculating and deceitful. Grant now comes right out and says that it was Courtney and Dewitt. Why don't they sue him?
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Its too bad he didn't kill himself before Nirvana got big, so we didn't have to hear what garbage has been put out, and has been playing in the past decade.

KTID 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Can we please stop talking about that stupid, talentless idiot. He killed himself because he couldn't hack it and his musical "influence" resulted in all of the shitty late-90s nu-metal shite that clogged up the charts. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 El Duce was on one of my favorite episodes of Jerry Springer, along with Gwar and some other band. You should try to see that one if you haven't. He received a very unwelcome reception, because he advocated rape. Highlights include: they asked him to remove the hood he was wearing, which he did, and was met with feigned disgust at his appearance, and the request to put it back on. He did. At the end of the show, there was a shot of him unmasked from the two seconds or so he had taken the hood off, with the caption "Sadly, (guy's real name) was hit by a train after the taping of this show." or something to that effect. Hilarious.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted June 17, 2004 That episode did indeed rock, but I think its no longer allowed on TV. It showed footahe of a GWAR concert where the big worm ate Jerry.
Guest Nater Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Which would you rather have... Poison or Nirvana? If you think Kurt didnt advance anything or have any talent, go. leave. buy a Poison album you hair rockin stallion. *snicker*

I always get real disappointed when I see GWAR not being crazy though. It's such a disappointment. That part where they yell at El Duce is pretty funny. There were other great shock rock episodes too such as the GG Allin episode, I'm pretty sure there's another good one I'm forgetting too.

Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Nirvana didn't really advance or start anything. They just exposed the mainstream to a style of music that had been going on in the underground during the eighties.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Is that former Headbangers Ball host Adam Curry in that picture of Il Duce that IDRM posted? There were other great shock rock episodes too such as the GG Allin episode, I'm pretty sure there's another good one I'm forgetting too. The GG Allin episode that he appears on Geraldo is the funniest thing in the history of TV. I always thought that Il Duce was just trying to emulate what GG did, and didn't do nearly as good of a job.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Is that former Headbangers Ball host Adam Curry in that picture of Il Duce that IDRM posted? It's not. That's just some random freak. The Mentors were around before GG Allin, you know. But I do agree that he was superior at what he did.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Yeah, I was pretty sure that the Mentors preceded GG ... I was just saying that GG's appearance on Geraldo > Il Duce's appearance on Springer. (both in his actions, and the reactions of the audience)
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 I gotcha. I've not seen GG on Geraldo, but it's been filed as something I should.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Which would you rather have... Poison or Nirvana? If you think Kurt didnt advance anything or have any talent, go. leave. buy a Poison album you hair rockin stallion. *snicker* Kurt never advance anything, nor started anything. Beside if you think Kurt is halfway decent guitarist....then you haven't heard good guitarist. He never mentioned his guitar playing abilities, that's irrelevant. I'm pretty sure by talent he meant songwriting skills or something like that. Nirvana was a good band, I liked them. Kurt was a pretty decent songwriter, with some pretty infectious hooks and such. I don't think they were as good as a lot of their predecessors, or any in fact. I'd take the Pixies over Nirvana any day of the week in fact, but that doesn't mean that they sucked. Odds are he killed himself, but who cares really? Stranger things have happened, and either way, he's still dead. Let's move on and talk about bigger problems, like all of the crap that list Nirvana and every other Grunge band as an influence. The birth of Nu-metal is a bigger tragedy. EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Well reading this topic I couldn't help but, think of that Kurt Cobain line from the Family Guy. Peter: "Lois, you can't quit. What if Kurt Cobain had quit?" Then it flashes to an animated Nirvana onstage with Kurt saying, "Thank you and remember, say no to drugs." Backstage, a record executive says to Kurt, "Great concert Kurt. The label's excited about your seventh album." Kurt, standing next to Courtney Love, replies to the executive: "Oh, you remember my wife, Courtney Love?" Executive says, "Who??" Flash to Courtney scowling. Ouch!! Guest Doyo Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Anyone who still thinks that Cobain was murdered should read "Heavier Then Heaven" by Charles R. Cross. and this happened 10 years ago just just drop it already. http://www.justiceforkurt.com/coverage/books/ "The mainstream press has praised it to high heaven as the Cobain book to buy. However, there are some major issues here. It was a collaboration between Courtney Love and Charles Cross, which is a red flag off the bat. Love is blatantly trying to change history in it, and paint herself and her late husband in a totally different light. Some of it is based on diaries Kurt left behind. Diaries that could have been easily manipulated at some point or another. It's no secret that Kurt was prepared to divorce Courtney before he died. She admits it herself in taped conversations with Tom Grant in 1994 and 1995 ( http://www.justiceforkurt.com/multimedia/index.shtml ). People around them have also spoken out about the turmoil between the two at the time. Yet this book wants us to believe that they had a great marriage. Remaining Nirvana members are also accusing Courtney Love of changing history and pasting herself into things so they benefit her. Clearly a slap in the face to them, as well as Kurt's memory. Cross also likes to take speculation and present them the same way as he does facts. He writes of Kurt's last morning like he was actually there. Heavier Than Heaven has some major flaws, so read this book with caution. A lot of conflicting stories and outright lies are spotlighted in a great article by Carolynn Acierno ( http://www.justiceforkurt.com/investigatio...an_heaven.shtml )."
