I would like to see the Spurs go after Rafer Alton or Carlos Arroyo to be the backup point guard and maybe get Mark Blount as the backup big man. But I can expect Adonal Foyal get picked up since he is all defense and not a scoring threat.

Mo Cheeks also seems to have a hard-on for Sebastian Telfair.

::Sigh::

Sebastian should've went to College, but I guess when you have a $10 - 20 million Sneaker Contract thrown your way, you take it.

Not to mention that fact that he wants to get his family out of a horrid neighborhood.

I've been where to the neighborhood where he lives. It's bad, but there is certainly worse in New York.

Taking your family out of a bad situation is always important, though.

Carlos Arroyo would be a great addition to the Spurs. Even though I would rather have him stay with the Jazz.

It's obvious where I think he should stay ;)

There is some good talent on that list. I hope it winds up making the two conferences more balanced than this past season.

That's his full name. A lot of the foreign guys have shortened names that they're called.

Predrag (Peja) Stojakovic, for example.

I'd say he's worse...

Iverson is willing to play hurt, ultra competitive, and at times is willing to take the blame when the Sixers mess up.

Post-Detroit Rodman may have been a huge off the court distraction, but when it came to showing up to play, he'd carry his load.

Since when has Kobe not been willing to play hurt? I remember him throwing up left-handed threes after he fucked his shoulder up. And to say Kobe isn't competitive is just wrong. If anything, he's more competitve than Shaq. So maybe Kobe won't take blame as often as Iverson, but although I like Iverson more, I'd rather have Kobe on my team right now.

Why would someone hurt their team like that? What a ninny, I hope that isn't true.

I agree with most of what you said, but if I had a choice I'd take Iverson.

Once upon a time, these guys alone would have made an outstanding free agent class. Scary how time flies, isn't it?

Kenny Anderson has already stated he'll probably go somewhere where he can get more minutes.

The NBDL?

In case you're wondering, I renamed this thread to something more fitting. I just want to get away from the whole "One and Only" motif.

Good.

Carlos Arroyo deserves to be a starting PG. If he went to SA, he would come off the bench as a backup to Tony Parker.

You didn't see that? It was one of the funniest/embarassing Laker moments ever.

Being a Clipper fan here are the free agents I think they need to go after. In order of preference

1. Kobe, really liked the teams chances until Buss practically handed ownership of Lakers to Kobe. Advantages for Clips: better talent and a coach who has known Kobe since he was a kid.

2. Steve Nash, i would give him a max contract offer but I know Sterling won't. Nash or Baron Davis would make this team something special.

3. Vlade Divac. Already said he was going to either the Lakers or Clippers. Would be a great mentor for our center Chris Kaman.

4. Troy Hudson, Brent Barry or Carlos Arroyo. Team needs a PG badly

Arroyo is the one I'd want if I were you. Barry is too old now and Hudson is more of a gunner than a guy who can run your offense. Arroyo is more of a traditional point guard that looks to get other guys shots before his own. With pieces like Brand, Maggette, and Richardson (if they re-sign) already there, Arroyo would fit like a glove.

Yeah, every Clip fans at the ESPN board seems to agree with you. I really haven't seen him play myself, so I can't really give my opinion on him.

Also add Derek Fisher to the list if he opts out. He is the type of player you hate if he plays against you but love if he is on your team.

just curious, who would you take with the 2nd pick if they made these moves? Or would you trade down with Atlanta?

Hmmm... so close...:

The NBA offseason is still young but the Houston Rockets may be ready to make its biggest acquisition.

The Houston Chronicle cites several league sources in reporting that the Rockets are the frontrunners to acquire disgruntled Magic Tracy McGrady and that a deal to bring the superstar to Houston could be done as early as Wednesday.

The centerpiece of such a deal would be a swap of McGrady for the Rockets' all-star point guard Steve Francis.

"I expect to know (by Thursday)," Magic general manager John Weisbrod said. "I can't say that I would expect that to be public information. I have every intention of knowing where that's going when we make these (draft) decisions."

McGrady's meeting with Magic ownership confirmed that McGrady intends to opt out of his contract and would prefer an earlier departure from Orlando.

Despite McGrady's contract status, the Magic has received no shortage of high-quality offers. League sources say as many as ten teams have contacted the Magic about acquiring McGrady.

If that deal goes through, Houston makes out like bandits. Tracy McGrady for Steve Francis straight up ? NO. Throw in Jim Jackson or something.

And what about Yao ? If Francis goes to Orlando, his game changes.
