Billy Gunn is back, Taker beats Cena, Sable and Torrie START ANOTHER F***ING ANGLE?!??!

Chavo vs. Rey is good, but battle royales suck.

-Why is Holly beating Jindrak? Jindrak may not be very good, but there's no reason for him to be jobbing clean to Holly. Hell, I'd take Jindrak over Holly any day of the week.

-Why is Taker beating Cena? That's just ridiculous. The only reason I can gather would be to get him over as a heel.

-I'm actually interested to see how well Eddie & Luther mesh.

-Stamboli gets a singles win!

It makes me wonder why they even traded Jindrak and Long and created this gimmick for Mark if he's just going to be on Velocity week after week, and is jobbing to Holly so Holly can get some illusion of momentum - and get majorly put over by the announcers who amusingly give him the Benoit AND Brock treatment at the same time - before he jobs to Mordecai. I'm assuming that Holly/Mordy will happen at GAB (is it THIS weekend?). BTW, for those who said that it's not fair to judge Mordecai since he's only been involved in cruiser squash jobs, this is his chance. If they stink it up, you can't use that excuse any more.

Jindrak hasn't been that bad on Velocity, either. He's growing into the narcissist gimmick, and is displaying some very good charisma, and seems to be getting over as a heel. Jobbing him to Holly just sets him back in his development.

Mordecai punking out Holly has to be some points on everyones score card. I'll tape for the battle royale (I'm a sucker for them), but nothing else looks interesting at all.

WO's recap is a little more indepth.

Smackdown Spoilers

Orlando- 6-22-04

By: Sean Hummel

Dark Matches:

Basham Brothers d Dennis Knight and David Heath(Gangrel) with Bashams double team finisher on Heath. Announced from Orlando Heath and Knight got good pops.

Norman Smiley d Antonio Banks w/ chokeout. Norman did the usual spots including the big wiggle. Good pop for Norm.

Velocity:

Charlie Haas w/ Miss Jackie d Sakoda with Haas of Pain. Decent little match.

Johnny Stamboli d Scoot Andrews. Pretty one sided affair with Stamboli hitting the Press Slam F5 variation.( Sorry, don't watch Velocity much these days!)

Hardcore Holly d Mark Jindrak. Another fantastic promo by Teddy. Hardcore recieved the "Oh, I know who HE is" pop from the fans. Holly with the Alabama slam.

SmackDown!

No pyro, Cena walks out to yet another huge pop. Talks about how Undertaker owes him an apology from last week and wants to meet him face to face. Out comes Angle. Angle rapped to Cena which was pretty funny. Both included T-Mac and the Magic. Angle made Cena vs Taker the main event!

10 Man Cruiserweight Battle Royal for No. 1 Contender and shot at G.A.B.

Kidman, Paul London, Shannon Moore, Sho Funaki, Nunzio, Akio, Scotty 2 Hotty, Jaime Noble, Spike Dudley, and Chavo Guerrero.

Order out: Spike, Nunzio, London, Moore, Akio, Cotty, Funaki, Noble, Kidman.

Winner Chavo with Gory Bomb toss out.(pretty cool spot) Jawed with Rey Rey who was doing color for the match.

JBL with Angle backstage saying Angle needs to give Eddy a match tonight. Angle makes Luther vs Eddy.

During this promo, a brawl breaks out between Holly and Mordecai which spills out to the arena. Broken up. Heyman tells Angle he has Taker under control.

Billy Gunn d Kenzo Suzuki via DQ. Billy got another huge pop.(FL boy). Kenzo's wife threw the ceremonial salt into Gunn's eyes after the famouser. There goes Kenzo's push. Rematch at G.A.B.

Holly vs Mordecai at the Bash. Gunn vs Sakoda at the Bash.

Sable and Torrie mix it up backstage. Insults such as "Fat" and "Easy" were used. Catfight.

Eddy JBL PPV Promo aired

Rene Dupree d RVD. Rollup tight pull after hitting RVD with SnakeEyes on exposed buckle. Booker on commentary. Average match. Sets up 4 way.

Undertaker PPV Hype.

Eddy Guerrero d Luther Reigns by DQ after JBL run in. Eddy pulled a decent match out of Reigns who isn't half bad. Eddy hit the frog splash then here came the sneak attack. Eddy did the belt spot again, knocking out Reigns. Eddie OVER HUuuuuge!! Hope he keeps the belt.

Undertaker d John Cena. Really good match live. Dragged in the middle with Undy doing the usual beatdown when he's playing a heel. Crowd was split and popped for both guys. Ref Bump, F-U. No count. Chokeslam. No count. Undertaker hits Chain Necklace punch and Tombstone for the win. Heyman comes out after and Taker worships the urn.

Good Show. I want to see the PPV now!!!

Ah, thank you Vince McMahon for giving us the opprotunity to say, "The Great American Bash looks like it's going to suck" again.

So, let's run down the Great American Bash card....

- (World Title) Eddie Guerrero vs. John Bradshaw Layfield in a Texas Bullrope Match

- (US Title) John Cena vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Rene Dupree vs. Booker T in elimination rules.

- (Concrete Crypt) The Undertaker vs. The Dudley Boyz

- (CW Title) Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

- Hardcore Holly vs. Mordecai

- Billy Gunn vs. Kenzo Suzuki

Um.....THATS IT?!!? 6 MATCHES?! Jesus Christ, it IS worse than Judgment Day, mainly because the crap is spread thinner (Holly & Gunn have singles matches!)

Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing Gangrel/Vampire Warrior/That guy who married Luna, maybe team him with Mordecai, or have an ...interesting feud.

Thanks for that update... I'll chip in $1 for the show. It's not even worth that much though.

Come on, the good thing is that both will job, and probably clean, at the PPV to rookies. And you know how Holly doesn't like them.

They had a few opportunities this year alone to turn both Peroxide Boys heel, but my only guess as to why that didn't come to pass is that both like being faces so they can moon crowds at house shows (too bad there hasn't been a SD house show in awhile as they keep getting cancelled due to poor ticket advances). Well, I guess they like being B-level JTTS too.

Im so glad I opted to spend $20 to go to the RAW house show at 2pm here Sunday instead of more for a ticket to GAB in Norfolk over 3 1/2 hours away.

I would be pissed off right about now. The 3 title matches look ok, but the 3 (or 4) other matches will drag the show down hard.

I will say that its a lot better than the first card that had the Diva Beach Olympics crap tacked on to it. Remember this card?:

WWE Championship

Bull Rope Match:

Eddie Guerrero vs. John Bradshaw Layfield

Handicap Match:

Undertaker vs. The Dudleys

United States Championship Match:

John Cena vs. Booker T

Flag Match:

Rob Van Dam vs. Rene Dupree

Rey Mysterio vs. Mark Jindrak

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:

Rico and Charlie Haas vs. Guerreros (Chavo and Classic)

The in-ring debut of Kenzo Suzuki

Divas Beach Compeition:

Dawn and Sable vs. Torrie and Miss Jackie (sub for Sable would be Jacqueline)

The only thing right was the main event, considering no one expected an UT heel turn....I mean tweener turn.

Interesting strategy and dilemma for the WWE:

Gunn/Suzuki, Mordechai/Holly and Sable/Torrie will be so bad is it better off not building at all to expose how weak the matches will be?

I am all for build but honestly would three weeks of building those matches be worth it?

I hope the crowd is going into the PPV energetic, because if the US title 4 way or Cruiserweight title match is not first the crowd will shit on the show.

I don't think the cruiser match would be enough to liven up this show. How many times have we seen Chavo vs Rey now? The WWE needs to seriously clean up the crap they're spitting with Smackdown.

You know SD's in a bad position when freakin' BILLY GUNN makes it onto the PPV card with room to spare. You think Benoit/Gunn was bad at Arm' 00, behold the horror that will be Gunn/Kenzo!

So far, who has benefited by trading to SD?

Theodore Long has all but disappeared.

Jindrak is playing Lex Lugar on Velocity.

Booker T is STILL stuck in the midcard.

RVD STILL doesn't care, and is STILL in the midcard.

Rico became a tag champ with Haas, but now both are ignored.

Hell, even Miss Jackie has been forgotten about.

Rico is injured, but otherwise got a serious Tag Title reign beforehand.

Rene Dupree is not doing tag team crap matches with Grenier anymore at least.

The only thing missing is Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar and you'd have 2003 REVISITED.

You call that tag reign serious?

And Dupree was much better when teaming with Conway on Raw. La Resistance was good then.

Anyway, looks like another crappy show from a brand that's used to putting on crappy shows.

It's a really sad state of affairs when Norman Smiley probably got more crowd reaction in a dark match than probably anything else on the show.

It's also sad that the only reason I might tune into a Smackdown/Velocity show is for Scoot Andrews.

You would think if Cena was going to be jobbed to someone it would be one of the other three guys in his match this Sunday. Or they would cost him the match against Taker. Or the Dudley's would cost Taker the match. Or.... fuck it.
