Didn't Vince say that you would never see anyone get killed in the company a few years back? This is a sign of the end being near.

T-minus 1 year until SD's rating gets so low it warrants a cancelling.

Well I was gonna say we saw Al Wilson die but he died later since he seemed to be ok for the weekend shows..

"Actions you will not see WWE characters portray are murder, rape or robbery."

Of course, The Undertaker was shown killing Paul Bearer last night on the PPV. [1wrestling.com]

I've fired them off an e-mail about that, will report back with any response.

Even though they build Eddie as lying, cheating, and stealing.

And there's already been numerous death angles, most involving Undertaker, not to mention the whole Katie Vick thing with Kane.

WWE is strait up lying to parents, but I suppose JBL could justify it because it's entertainment, right?

Right, but nobody has been MURDERED on WWE programming.

-Katie died in a car accident.

-Kane had 'consensual' sex with Lita.

-Paul Bearer is 'receiving medical attention.'

They walk the line, but they DO stick by their guidelines.

Technically, robbery involves violence or threats of violence to take something from others. I don't think Eddie has actually mugged anybody.

Jindrak/Cade stole HHH's bounty money in the suitcase.

Are people here actually offended by the storylines around rape, robbery and murder or that they're done on wrestling programming?

I'm more turned off by how awful these storylines are acted out. The writers and wrestlers just don't have the minds and acting skills to pull it off. They come off cheesy and not very sensitive to the issues at hand.

I have no problems with movies and TV shows like "CSI" doing storylines around these issues. They handle it with more intelligence and class, for the most part.

Wrestling should stick to simple storylines.

Not according to WWE Fan Services.

Maybe Paul is supposed to be undead anyway, so killing an undead person is technically not murder, I suppose.

Yeah, because there's no other difference between wrestling and regular TV shows. :P

Regular TV shows never bother blurring the lines between the characters and the actual persons. They never pretend the actors themselves are actually in any real danger, just the characters.

Also, they don't have to come up with stupid, illogical rationizations for why over-the-top, unrealistic characters are all competing against each other.

Naturally, there are others...but basically Vince saying "we make movies" is one of the stupidiest things I've ever heard or heard of him ever saying.

Don't even get me started about how a company that surely has some lawyers employed has absolutely no grasp on real-life laws.

My problem with it all is that I watch wrestling for the fake sport. I realize that it's a tv show and all, but it really takes away from my enjoyment of a fake sport when people are murdered and raped. It's almost like when the Great Kazoo showed up on the Flintstones. Just horribly out of place, and kills the vibe.

You guys really didn't miss much. It was the same thing you saw on PPV, or the high lights from Raw, just Taker was in sweat gear and the arena was empty.

Wasn't it the Great Gazoo, not Kazoo?

I don't think so. Ah, who knows.
