Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 Put me down for no as well. I am signed up now on the auction site. Question: the site says that our draft is set to take place at 18:30 PDT. That doesn't sound like 5pm PST.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 what's the cash max? Like are we using $100? 200?
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 With the format how it is now, I think it should be set at $100. That looks like the typical setup for an auction league with the number of positions we have
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 23, 2004 if you guys want to switch to 100 that's cool with me.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 24, 2004 1 hour till draft notes: we're going with $200 unless a few people tell me they want $100, like right now make sure your team profile has your e-mail, otherwise you won't get a copy of the results uh. I think that's it. remember to test run the auctioneer if you haven't already.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 What can I say my team look actually good considering I overpaid early in the draft. I'm willing to trade McNair for a RB. QB McNabb, McNair RB Dominiac Davis, Marshall Faulk, Duckett WR Moss, Bruce, Roy Williams, Tai Street TE Kellen Winslow, Mike Ituli Defense Cowboys, Jets Kicker John Hall
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 My team is OK QB Matt Hasselbeck Seahawks (SEA) RB Jamal Lewis Ravens (BAL) RB Michael Bennett Vikings (MIN) WR Peerless Price Falcons (ATL) WR Darrell Jackson Seahawks (SEA) WR Ashley Lelie Broncos (DEN) TE Randy McMichael Dolphins (MIA) K Mike Vanderjagt Colts (IND) DEF Baltimore Ravens Ravens (BAL) B-QB Mark Brunell Redskins (WAS) B-RB Chris Brown Titans (TEN) B-WR Reggie Wayne Colts (IND) B-WR Andre' Davis Browns (CLE) I could use a bit of help at WR, but I have 3 nice RB. Like I said in chat, if I would have known how far 200 would go, I would have spent a bit more early on, but all in all Im quite happy with my draft.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 I'm loving my team considering how much I paid for most of them. I spent $64 on Green, $20 on Taylor(who I project as the #10 RB) and $11 on Kevin Jones. Everybody else was below $7 I believe. QB's: Jake Plummer, Brad Johnson RB's: Ahman Green, Fred Taylor, Kevin Jones WR's: Charles Rogers, Rod Smith, Marcus Robinson, Reggie Williams and somebody else that I can't remember TE's: Alge Crumpler and Boo Williams K's: Adam Vinatieri Def: Kansas City Chiefs(Can we say Dante Hall)

Guest Soylent Green Is People Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Coming off my first auction draft i'd say it's something i'd like to do again in the future, the early picks with everyone one-upping each other for the best players were fun, although it did drag at the end when everyone was just filling bench spots, kickers and the like and barely anyone was challenging picks. QB's: Peyton Manning, Chad Pennington RB's: Rudi Johnson, Travis Henry, Marcel Shipp, Stephen Jackson, Willis McGahee WR's: Derrick Mason, Koren Robinson, Plaxico Burress, Justin McCareins TE: Freddie Jones K: Matt Stover Def: Denver Broncos Pretty happy with my team overall. I originally didn't like ending up with Pennington when i was just trying to push the price up for someone else, but he's good insurance should anything happen to Manning. My RB's are secure with 5 in total, Rudi & Henry should both perform well, Shipp will be a decent backup provided he can get past Emmitt, should Faulk retire Jackson will be a nice pickup, and McGahee is there in case anything happens to Henry. WR's should be pretty good too, and i continue to end up with Plaxico Burress in seemingly every fantasy football draft i participate in.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Hey STR, I don't like the idea of a league vote as it could cause an owner to vote against a trade out of personal spite or to be funny. I'm of the belief that the commish should look at a trade and unless he thinks it's extremely unfair(maybe get reasons from both owners prior to making a decision on the trade to assess the thinking behind making the deal) he should let it go through. Honestly, a trade that might seem unfair to an owner may end up having been fair in the end, like let's say Owner A is looking to deal Steve Smith for Marcus Robinson and everybody thinks it's unfair because Smith is far better then Robinson. Then we look at the end results and it shows that Robinson outperformed Smith, so now you're looking at an owner who got screwed by no fault of his own because he saw something that nobody else saw. razazteca 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 All trades should go thru unless the majority of the league is against it. The only reason to veto a trade is if one of the players is going to jail or if it is a 4-for-1 Shaq crazy deal. If anybody wants McNair its going to take a starter and a bench player
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2004 Taking a look at everyone's roster, I feel there is quite the balance. I like my team and felt the auction was a ton of fun. Since it was a first for us, I think with experience and time, it can get more strategic. Here is DA's Squad QB-Michael Vick, Jake Delhomme RB-LaDanian Tomlinson, Duce Staley, Tatum Bell, Correll Buckhalter, William Green WR-Torry Holt, Hines Ward, Muhsin Muhammad, Peter Warrick TE-Jason Witten K-Paul Edinger Def-Miami How does picking up guys waivers go? Is there a specific order if 2 or more teams want the same free agent?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted July 24, 2004 everybody has waiver priority based on how much cash they had leftover. Flik and Mike both had 0 so I flipped a coin. Harley had the most, so he gets first dibs on any free agent. keep in mind that if you get someone off waivers, your priority resets and you go to the end of the line, so to speak.
